I have a personal theory that one of the Wii U version's unannounced features is a sort of Playable Boss mode, utilizing the gamepad. With both the Ridley and the Metal Face tease intending to lead up to that.

Note how Metal Face doesn't have a trophy in the 3DS version either despite being explicitly teased in Shulk's trailer.

EDIT: Damn I'm completely late to this observation aren't I.

The only sensible way to scale down Metal Face to playable size that wouldn't be really silly is to have his other form appear and make the metal face his Final Smash. And given the nature of that form, major spoilers

I've seen a lot of characters on streams, the ones I haven't seen much of are Pit, Mr. G&W, Link, Ike, Olimar, and of course, Miis. And trust me, I was watching a lot of streams this past week lol.

How the clones compare to the original in terms of how often they appear on streams:
Dark Pit > Pit
Lucina > Marth
Dr. Mario < Mario

I've battled a decent amount of Pit players online this weekend & I've been maining Ike for all my battles. I doubt I have played against anyone streaming, and I don't have the setup to stream or capture 3DS footage.

I don't see a problem with scaling him down. That said, I doubt he will be playable. That said, Sakurai doesn't care about spoiling games.

Could work. I mean other characters do it.

Same principle as Fox/Falco/Falcon getting out of their ships. Why should Metal Face be any different?

Really? Given the nature of Metal Face, the only way to scale him down that isn't super silly is super spoilery. And it's different to an obscure spoiler in a trophy since it's visually apparent

Hey guys, I'm looking for any footage of the Paper Mario stage for the sake of debate.
FFA, 2v2, 1v1, items on, items off, doesn't matter. Just as long as it isn't Omega but the actual stage. Trying to scrutinize its hazards and make an argument for its viability before people start instantly writing it off. Seems to be a lot of that going on for a lot of these stages, and that's not healthy for the early scene.

Having trouble finding anything though! I found the GameXPlain one with Bowser and 3 CPUs, but nothing else. Anything would be great!

I see where you are coming from. I am just not convinced that would stop Sakurai. Though who the hell would want to play as that guy?

Is Metal Face's identity really considered a big Xenoblade spoiler? Because I immediately knew who he was the second he opened his mouth. I never got to the reveal because I didn't enjoy the game, but I just looked it up and saw that I was right.

I mean yeah, it isn't too hard to figure out, but it's still a huge spoiler.

I don't think it's a big deal either. Despite the game being out worldwide for over 2 years everything about it is on spoiler death watch. Annoying as hell.

Here you go.

It looks like the only viable part is the SS Flavio transformation. The Sticker Star transformation is a walk-off, and has the annoying fan-blowing thing, while the Bowser's Castle transformation has the head in the middle spinning around every once in a while which looks like it'll lead to a lot of SD's.

1FOW1 is doin requests again folks and he's answering questions. He's also getting some GOOD matches on stream. He took on a game n watch just now as Charizard and Game and Watch was fucking siiiiiiiiiiiick. Guy was baiting moves into down throw, judgment hammer, gas gun and up smash for mad combos and damage. Friggin' wobbles style grab loops after awhile.

Get in here.

Brawl pretty much immediately spoiled a major reveal in Mother 3, so the precedent is there.

Smash Bros. seems to already use a ton of RAM on the 3DS with a cartridge. (It's evident by the fact that you can't use Miiverse or the Internet browser while playing the game.)

It seems like it would be impossible to do 3DS Download Play, which copies parts of the game from the 3DS with the cartridge to the memory of the 3DS without.

Of course, they could do memory saving techniques such as removing music (like Mario Kart DS and 7) or sound effects, and limiting the course / character selection, but I am guessing that it wouldn't work out very well.

If that's official, then that's pretty cool that he was actually referenced to be a character before. I didn't like that about Brawl, they didn't reference Pichu or Mewtwo having been characters before, and also Roy, Dr. Mario, and Young Link aswell.

But it also seems wierd to reference the Pokemon Anime too. Nothing wrong with that, but seems odd.

Maybe but it is quite likely someone is just directly translated them from the Japanese.

I personally prefer the wording of the JP one, but I'll take it.
