I like you. A lot.

Edit: Anybody have any answer for thhe stupidly fluctuating framerate I'm having. I've got a GTX 680 and an i5 2550 (i think), overclocked. I'm only running it at 1080p and performance is all over the place. I'd rather just be able to lock at 30 at this point. :(

SUCCESS!

Based Square Enix, didn't even change the file encryption from the 360 version..

I haven't tried it yet. But possibly limiting it with Rivatuner RTSS (With or without MSI Afterburner) could solve the issue.

REALLY the game should have a frame lock option (That works properly) for 30,60 and unlocked (For 60+Hz)

okay, GeDoSaTo and MSAA x8 forced on AMD Driver looks good.

in-game cutscenes looks blurry as hell but i believe its a DoF issue on GeDoSaTo as on vanilla game are fine.

This is running better, but holy fuck the FPS is all over the place.

No wonder they capped it to 30 on the consoles, this is incredibly disappointing

I'm already using max performance :|

Everybody gets it, those of us who have solved it have different methods of doing so. As Durante put it, your GPU is getting bored and downclocking itself. Make sure you have it set to maximum performance, and try to find a good balance of settings that tax your system just enough that it delivers a steady framerate without falling asleep.

This is a weird fucking port.

Somehow it seems they even managed to mess up something with the AtC hair

has some zany macroblock like artifacts

Video https://mega.co.nz/#!iVIDiLib!L1gWG92EfFzJDErhNJZ3GOyPG_lPBInb0Rl86tjAuEk
(Though I haven't played the PS3 version in ~4 years so I couldn't tell you if it exists there)

And it's also amazing how much headroom in the audio levels there are.

As is, using my DAW that I record music with, recorded audio from the game from FRAPS(Which has same level as in game)

There is 19.7dBFS of headroom until the loudest peaks hit the -0.00dBFS noise floor without clipping.

This is the audio Normalized that amount (Which is pretty loud, so you may want to turn it down)

Yeah, the game has peaked visually for now.

We need character and texture mods now...

Peaked visually? I have to disagree. There are things still to solve.

And also potentially some high quality AO in the form of HBAO+

Hey, another XIII fan

Hi there Serah, tell us your story with XIII (and mark spoilers please).

SWEET! So texture swaps are possible then? What about model swaps to get the FMV models as gameplay models? That would be sweet

That would be hard, seeing as the FMVs are just videos. But better textures are totally possible though.

What if I already have a gamepad plugged in? :(
A guy in the second page recommends a download that makes the game THINK you have a pad plugged in that apparently works to.

This is some bizarre stuff. What are these Japanese developers doing?

I'll like to pre-purchase a Durante fix for Evil Within next week, Durante. I'll even donate generously in advance. :)

Ugh. Now it's not launching at all, and it's locking up when I turn off the GeDoSaTo.

I'm just going to wait. This shit port isn't worth the frustration it's causing me.

Masashi Hamauzu, one of the composers of Final Fantasy X and the composer of the Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII made the music for Final Fantasy XIII. You can click on the small images below to start hearing some of the beautiful tracks that's been tailored into the game. From left to right, you've got:

  • Prelude (2:55)
  • The Hanging Edge (3:26)
  • Lake Bresha (4:11)
  • The Sunleth Waterscape (3:46)
  • Serah's Theme (1:30)
  • The Archylte Steppe (4:25)

Ugh, now I'm reminded how annoyed I was that they did not use the traditional FF Prelude. It's like they really went out of their way to make this installment of the numbered FF as different as they can.

Yoshichan

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
I have a sore throat right now because of all the yelling and screaming last night when the game launched... It's like I've been in a consert, exactly that feeling

They just snuck in the prelude in various tracks
sunleth waterscape (XIII)
Eclipse (XIII-2)
and it's front in center for the last part of the credits in LR

FFVIII did this as well! I like both songs though.

I could be wrong, but I think those are also just videos (that's why the 60gb) XD

Another reason why in-engine cutscenes should be real time. Would literally chop that 60GB down by like 30+GB.

And it's only 60GB because of including the JPN FMVs too.

Ideally the game should break down as such.

15-20GB or less base download.

This gets you 360 FMVs.

Then release 4 free DLCs.

1.PS3 1080p blu-ray FMVs -English
2. Same as above but Japanese
3. 360 FMVs in Japanese

But really, this is incredible how FFXIV 2.0 was handled on PC. You'd think they'd learn?

And people thought Wada was the problem!

Are you still mad Yoshi? Did the hype die? Am I all alone now? >.>
Yeah I'm still mad, I have muscle soreness in my arms from all the flailing and shit I did yesterday. It was a crazy night, it drained almost all the energy I had left in my body.

Fuck.

Edit: hype is still there... But it's either blurry or @30fps

I'll disagree with the 360 FMVs, I think PS3 should be the only one there. At least that's the case in XIII-2 and LR, so the size there will probably be a lot smaller.

ALso, what's the 4th DLC? =P

EDIT: @Yoshi, well, I'll be waiting for Durante to throw a Phoenix Down on your hype, until then I'll be learning the game and judging it for myself =P

Well I already play with a (360) gamepad and I have frame drops.

My PC is not a beast but still... I've a i7 3770k, 16Go DDR3, GTX 660ti (2gb), it should run it at 60fps no? I'm at 60 sometimes but it often drop at 50/45 fps. :/

Ah and I play at 1080p with the Durante fix.

no, you have to:

1. unplug controller
2. launch game
3. ESC game
4. plug in controller
5. launch game

you have to do this every time you want to play the game

Sorry, I meant 3 I guess.

And while I agree to the nth degree about there only being PS3 FMVs(I made a thread when it was first announced about asking for this shit)

Not everyone cares about that surprisingly. Some only care about space it takes. :

Oh man, this game is beautiful. Usually, when I return to older games, I'm disappointed by the game not looking as good as I remember it being. But with this game, it's looks way better than from what I remember even at 720p. Good AA can work magics huh?

I always thought FFXIII had amazing environmental art but seeing it with better AF and AA is really making me happy.

Believes Dragon Quest is a franchise managed by Sony
No, it goes back and forth between pre-rendered and in-engine in cutscenes. You can notice it when the depth of field breaks with the GeDoSaTo fix.

The vast majority of cutscenes are pre-rendered. For that matter, the cut-scenes in the very small amount of areas that are real time have the models from gameplay already.

With so many videos present, you 'll probably find yourselves limited with what can be done until FF13-2 comes along

Oh it works for the opening cinematics I'm at 60fps (I check with FRAPS), but when I arrive ingame I start at 60 and then soon drop at 45/50/45/50/55/45, etc etc. :(

It's really annoying. :(
