I only noticed that I got the update when I pressed options on the game and selected version history. Then it told me I was already on 1.03

Gen X

Trust no one. Eat steaks.
How big is the new patch? I d/l a 130ish one yesterday when I played for the first time.

*edit* nm, literally answered second before my post. :)

Played on the PS4 of my friend. Damn, disappointed. I don't like the driving physics at all, you can't even drift properly. The driving mechanics is very similar to Forza Horizon 2 on X360 (FH2 on Xone is really good). Other than that, the graphics are really good.

I'm not trying to downplay the issue people have with the aliasing or deny its existence as I'm sure there is some, but for me personally, driving in cockpit view exclusively, I've barely even noticed it. LOD/Shadow streaming on the other hand has been an issue, expecially on the India tracks where it got so distracting one time that I couldn't take my eyes off of it and went straight into the barriers.

Patch notes.
Update history:

1.03

- implement several game-side fixes to reduce server load.
- fixes an issue that may cause clubs to become corrupted.
- fixes out of memory crashes due to multiple large avatars in the friends list.
- fixes occasional game-side crashes when uploading large amounts of progress data.

They're different platform to platform? Honest question.

Looks like you never drift in a game like this because you need to practice and well by the looks of it you didn't watch video's either in this thread with a Venom GT just doing that. Also comparing this towards Horizon 2 is like apples and pears.

Yeah, there's a few issues with flower pop-in on a few of the Scotland tracks, but overall the game looks much better in cockpit view.

Done.
If this patch really is the grand savior of the servers, they should remotely crash all current active players, forcing em to download the patch! :p

That's actually what it did to me. I was connected then I got DC'd and it said there was a patch. I downloaded it and started game back up and now I'm disconnected again.

Online was working fine before the patch. Now I can't even connect :(

I had connection to the server for about 40 minutes until the update hit. Lol. Oh well, I'll take a break and go back at it again later.

This shit still don't work.... They should cancel the + version because it'll never work when millions of those users start to come in.

i wonder if the chance of connectivity varies according to how much data the user has to sync. I never get a connection for longer than 10 seconds during a race, green then red. Basically finished with SP i wonder if every connection craps out when my game tries to upload all the ghosts and times etc

I love racing games, Forza Motorsport an GT are amazing games to Drift, is not that easy but when your learn is amazing, but in Driveclub is pretty arcade, you cant even Drift at slow speed. Did you played the game?

Because the damn tires are glued to the ground in this game.

Patched, still nothing. I'm jealous of those who have only played one online race. I've never been connected, lol

Same here. Had a really stable connection for almost an hour. Then the patch happened. I seem to connect almost immediately, but no club anymore

How do you define "properly"? I haven't really experimented with drifting yet but you can e-brake most cars into a decent drift, and you can definitely faint drift and use inertia to drift as certain cars naturally want to do it. I have no idea if you can clutch kick though.

I dont find the option to turn off the traction control and the Stability control, that can be the problem.

drifting is a mode you enable with the handbrake in driveclub. The handbrake detaches the rear tires and makes the motor spin up, then once you are free from grip let it go and the throttle and gear keeps the rears spinning.

Yes you can do that, but you can continue the drift for long time. Thats the problem.

Mother of god.

It looks like I might see Simba flying out the crowd. The lighting is THAT damn good.

Oh yea online works but it's spotty I'm not able to create clubs but I'm connected.

I'll try it out. Ya know, I hope people start posting more race configs like this.

Got the patch here is the US, applied it, and was online shortly after starting the game. But I couldn't create a club (tried thrice), or view clubs, or search them, or see recommendations. It told me I had 35 player contacts but I couldn't view any of them.

In positive news, I'm slightly less shit at drifting. Now have two-stars for the first two drift events. What got me from one star to two was realizing 1: I was starting my drifts too early, which would careen me off the track more often than not, and 2: that I was applying too much counter-steer once the drift started. In other games I'd usually start a drift, go to opposite lock and then unwind and wind that up - along with throttle and downshifting as needed to maintain it - in DC, at least so far, I have to use less counter-steer and unwind from there.

Still have a wall ahead of me to reach three-stars in those events, but will come back to them later.

I'll try it out. Ya know, I hope people start posting more race configs like this.
Hear hear. More please :)

And include a preferred class of car if you can, as that'll dictate how fast the time moves for an average run.

you can drift at slow speeds. its easy, just use the handbrake to get it going. Did you "played" the game for longer than an hour? have you seen the pictures of the donuts left on the tarnac, if you cant drift, how can you leave a donut?

So when a friend joins your session, do they come with you into Campaign and Single Events too? Or only if you pick a Multiplayer Event?

I give up, cant see them fixing this any-time soon. Seems like its really broken, and as mentioned above, what will happen when the ps+ crowd joins the game?

They should of put a mass beta out for this like Bungie did with Destiny.

I don't get the drifting scoring in this game.

Drifting half the corner at a high speed then hitting the barrier > Drifting the whole corner cleanly at a decent speed.

How does that work?
