Alright, I've compiled a list of some things we basically know are coming but haven't been announced and thus are probably likely to be announced here, let me know if I missed something.

  1. Boss Battle Mode
  2. Tourney Mode
  3. Yellow Team
  4. Event Match
  5. Coin Battle
  6. Special Smash
  7. 8 Player Smash
  8. Special Orders/Master Orders/Crazy Orders
  9. Ticket Selection?
  10. Smash World
  11. Official Tourney?
  12. Stage Builder
  13. Temple Stage
  14. Great Cave Offensive Stage
  15. Metal Face (in some way)
  16. Ridley (in some way)
  17. More with Amiibos?
  18. 3DS/Wii U Connectivity

Not even close to 50, although these may be most of the big things...

Was boss battle mode revealed in those audio files?

My source tells me that:

8 player smash mode
First DLC character will be revealed
Bayonetta and Wonder Red will be future DLC characters
Ice climbers are the first DLC character
Anybody who preordered Bayonetta 2 or buys it gets a demo code on the eShop for Smash Wii U
Wonder Red will be able to transform to different wonderful ones (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow and Pink)

Bayonetta as Wii U only character/ other Wii U characters? Reckon it could be due to being on the Bayonetta 2's release day.

Hmm same day as bayonetta 2 release, there must be something about that there...

Imagine if you put bayonetta on club Nintendo you get a smash wii u demo, great marketing strategy to sell copies

It really comes down to how they classify the "50 new things" for the Wii U version. We know game modes, maybe Amiibo, but if they count individual levels then those will eat a decent chunk of that figure. Online modes/options will also likely be detailed greater.

SIGH, knew they'd give us a Smash U direct before a proper one. :/
You won't see a proper Direct soon. The company is focusing on individual titles to better market the games. Maybe early 2015 we'll get a full Direct covering several releases.

Unless bayonetta is announced as a playable character (which won't happen) I can't see this doing anything else than harm to bayonetta's sales. Even then it would still steal the spotlight. It's hilarious.
And fucking sad.

Really looking forward to this, have decided to bring the Wii u back into my bedroom, this has cost me a white ps4 to make it up to my nephew, but it will be worth it. I played melee for three days solid with my girlfriend in Nov 2002 we had such a blast over the weekend, holds sad memories since she passed away the following Monday, but I'm going to smile so much playing this and remembering her smiles.

Naw, I don't think they would intent to hurt the sales, and people are more likely to pick up Bayonetta 2 to kill their times until It's a time for Direct.

You added an extra 24h. It should be on the 23rd GMT.

Damn, you're right. Thanks for the heads up.

Correct countdown timer:

It's a Japanese game about a witch who shoots bullets from her shoes. I'm sorry, Nintendo could force people to buy it at gunpoint and it'd still be a commercial flop. Make peace with it.
