I agree. Generations felt like an expansion pack sequel (a superior one to its predecessor mind) in many aspects and I'm not sure what else they can do to make the Unleashed game play more fun. I liked the idea of Lost World "toning down" the overbearingly fast game play of Generations/Unleashed because maybe they'd have more development time to just make the game bigger, more varied and have more intricacies to it's game play. I had fun with the boost games but considering the crazy amount of manpower Sega has to put in to make those stages big enough and the game is still just 4 hours long or so, it feels like a fleeting experience.

I wouldn't call it an expansion pack per se, for me it felt like the perfect culmination of everything they were building up throughout Unleashed and Colors. In fact I wish they would've released some real DLC levels (Casino zone doesn't count) for Generations because the game is already as good at it's gonna get; I have trouble imagining the current style of Sonic game getting any better, and I certainly don't want it to get any worse.

Personally, I don't mind the games being short, but I also wouldn't mind them throwing in extra characters with slightly different playstyles to break up the main Sonic levels and extend the length of the game. I just don't want them to go back to putting in tons of mandatory side missions in an attempt to extend the game length, those things are boring and unnecessary 9 times out of 10.

People say Sonic was too fast in Generations? He wasn't fast enough IMO. I loved the speed he had in Unleashed. Shit was neck breaking. My only actual beef with Generations is the Ranking System practically gives you an S for free.

Also, the controls for 3D are quite refined, and even more accessible in Generations (Though I prefer the demanding control in Unleashed more.)

You got a point. I liked Sonic and the Secret Rings but I can't really recommend someone it. And Black Knight I am actually kind of scared to play, it looks worse than Secret Rings by a good margin, however the soundtrack for Black Knight is the nut.

I didn't even know that Sonic colors was made by the storybook team. I mean yeah it was a Nintendo exclusive but that didn't dawn on me until you said it. Hard to believe they made a Sonic game that good. I don't have a WiiU so I don't know a damn thing about Lost World.

No. The idea was that Sonic 2 would be developed by Americans under supervision of developers from Japan so that STI could learn from them.

When Yuji Naka was rehired by Sega and one of his conditions was that Americans were forbidden from working on Sonic 3. Sonic 3 was still developed in the US, though.

I'm guessing their good Sonic game making luck ran out during the development of Sonic Lost World because the later levels of that game and almost all of the bosses were complete garbage. I swear the only games I've been trading in nowadays have been Sonic ones. First it was Sonic and The Secret Rings, then Sonic Unleashed, and now Lost World.
