God would you guys actually download it and try it before making shit up?
"It probably dials your grandma and curses at her too!"

fuck, that link is depression in a bottle.
I seriously hope that there arent people out there who will pay for this, I really really hope so.
Won't The Division be an always online game like Destiny?Well...I'm definitely not touching The Division at this point after all this Ubi bullshit
It would tell them that people like their games that aren't full of shit.
How is 9.99$ a micro transaction?
Im sure you can finish the game without buying and microtransactions. Actually im positive you can. The point is that this paves the way for future paid titles to have microtransactions and then possibility of affecting a games design. I mean honestly though. The whole wait and see what happens attitude is the reason why things are this way in the first place. Yes it doesnt affect you now but when it does then guess what? They be able to get away with it.I have not actually, and I do not doubt there are games designed around this concept. I was talking about Unity in particular. Nothing I have seen in reviews or elsewhere suggests this fact, it just has a way for impatient people to hit the "unlock now" button so to speak.
Like I said, show me this game, AC:Unity, is going to take me an obscene amount of time to complete, or I will be unable to complete WITHOUT buying these packs then I'll jump on the Fuck You Ubi bandwagon.
What episode is this from?
I don't know what's happened to this industry I grew up with from when it started.
Maybe if developers didn't need a massive budget for what at times feels like participating in an interactive movie "PRESS X TO OPEN DOOR" they could go back to basics and concentrate on, y'know, gameplay at an affordable cost and then not need to charge us extra on top of the core game.
Yeah, while rewarding them with $60 each time somebody sends the message.

- pre-order bonuses
- release-day embargo
- microtransactions (of up to $100) in a $60 game
Maybe Assassin's Creed Unity is actually a parody of modern AAA gaming.
Micro-transactions on a 60 dollar game is dirty. Unless is like post-release content or something.
Because they're focused on disposable one-shot experiences and spectacle instead of rich mechanics.Games that meet expectations became more expensive to make by leaps and bounds.

Congrats Ubisoft, you've killed Assassin's Creed. Time to find the next IP to run into the ground.
Rebooted Assassin's Creed, PS5 and Xbox4, coming soon.
So if I pay 99.00 dollars, do I at least get to purchase everything in the game? If I'm paying 99 dollars, I should at least feel entitled to unlock everything with that money.
Publishers would really appreciate it if you wouldn't re-name an already disgusting business practice to something more accurate.
The saddest part of all of this is that they WILL be profitable off of these practices regardless of places like NeoGAF making a fuss about it. The majority of people playing this game will be blind-sided when they run into it in-game.
I recommend everyone watch the recent South Park episode (episode six of the current season) regarding freemium. These practices are going to wreck people with gambling addictions.
It all makes sense:
Ubisoft wants 200 dollars from each gamer.
