So what happened!? Did he PM back or just not at all? Details! :D

Did the guy just fail to respond or was it much worse?

Possible he was just trying to screw with people, and didn't realize the consequences. We'll never know, and it doesn't really matter either way. People get banned for doing stupid shit all the time, that's just how things are.

We (MS employees) absolutely DO NOT astroturf. It is a sacking offence. End of story. You're fucking stupid if you do it, there's no upside.

Well yeah obiously having to pay third parties to do it is gonn piss them off if you guys just do it as well while being on the payroll already :p

Be fair.

You'll never find better proof that somebody works for Game in the UK than that person not knowing ANYTHING at all about games. ;)

It's funny that he lists his occupation as Tech Support...like...does a game store actually even do tech support?

No, but publicity companies that MS hired, outsourced to people who have done astroturfing.

MS employees might not, but isn't the issue more that companies employ other agencies to do it?

Yeah, I can't speak to what shady pr firms do, whether that's for ms or other firms. It's something I know nothing about. I was just responding to the "ms employee?" post.

Tbh in this day & age/climate I'd be amazed if any gaming company was stupid enough to allow a pr firm to astroturf. Stakes are too high if caught. Especially on gaf where you have to register with your work email address so it's kind of obvious.

Technically you only have to register with a non-free e-mail. So you could easily just use the e-mail your ISP gives you.
