True. I feel game of year should represent a new experience that was truly perfected and explored this year but it doesn't seem like such a leap.

Again it's one of the best games this year but I don't think a game that is actually a step back from its predessor should be given goty when DS1 wasn't given that. It would be a bad representation of 1 and this year

Really, REALLY disappointed that they've merged those into one category, as they're two separate disciplines :(. A game can have a great OST but not do much sound wise, be it in design or implementation, and vice versa.

Totally agree. In-game sound, is completely under represented at these events, and yet is one of the most critical components in many games. Music is indeed separate from that

I think the only selections of nominees that I really have a problem with is the "Most Anticipated Game" award. The Witcher 3 is probably the only game listed that I have interest in getting day 1.

Otherwise the lists of nominees are pretty good.

I really haven't though much of Mordor so far. The game has no real direction from the start and the missions so far have been dull.

I wasn't a huge fan of Dark Souls II either.

A new thread with the nominees in the OP would be good. I had to search the thread for all of them.

PDP had a good year... he shut off his comments, and appears to be cleaning his act a bit. He's still 100% not my thing, but I wouldn't care if he won.

So long as TB gets last place, I'm happy.

Smash got robbed of the GOTY nomination

If Dark Souls II wins then we can all realize how much Dark Souls got robbed in 2011

Hearthstone would be very odd and sorry, but it does not deserve that nomination over some other games

I think it's gonna be Mordor, actually. Crazy year.

I REALLY want it to win Best Narrative. I know it won't since it'll go to Telltale (hopefully for TWAU even though I haven't played it; I just don't want TWD Season 2 to get it).

But, dammit, Stick of Truth was hilarious, well-written, and was the perfect blend of satire, styled humor, and silliness.
