WTF ?
i heard there is gonna be paid upgrade
so , if i paid for the DX11 (upgrade)
can i use the season pass that i already have ?
Well, it won't be an upgrade. It's a completely separate release. They may offer a discount on Steam for previous owners.

The DX11 version comes with the season pass as standard so it doesn't matter that you own it for the DX9 version. I mean there's a possibility you may get a bit of an extra discount for owning the season pass, but I think that's unlikely.

No DS2 for me during the upcoming sales then. At least they're announcing it now and I can play DS1 after the GFWL patch hits. Fine by me.

The most annoying thing out of all of this is that I've barely put anytime into Dark Souls II Scoops of Vanilla Edition as it is. Now there's going to be a version with Sprinkles as well.

Yeah, new one, might have something to do with CoH2 too.

I don't think there's much Sega stuff I don't own on Steam bar 50+ MegaDrive classics (please don't papa Sega).

How about you learn to hold your horses and you know, wait for more information before losing your mind or coming into your pants?

It's a good general advice for anything in life, really.

I seriously don't get some people sometimes, reminds me of myself at Christmas eve when I was like 5.

Table flipping and gaming forums go hand in hand. Not to say that less than favourable business practices are immune from criticism.

I actually stole that from someone earlier in the thread :(

But my screenshot of your screenshot that contains screenshots with what looks like screenshots in them tells me that these Chinese developers are very lazy.

That's pretty much what I am trying to convey, table flipping !== constructive criticism. Which is the reason I mostly avoid many of the outrage topics and just post in threads like this one instead. But sometimes it just grinds my gears.

I am going to make it through this year if it kills me

Have you been in the Jurassic World teaser thread?

Who here is looking forward to Battlefield: Hardline? I know Ozium is, but anyone else?

I've been a huge fan of Battlefield since the day Battlefield 2 arrived.
But I never bought BF4.

I was eventually gonna buy it after all the bugs were fixed but now I just "don't feel it".
I maybe will eventually.

The thing is: this only has partially to do with the turbulent development cycle. It has more to do with the setting.
I'm SICK of modern time warfare. :(

Seriously, how much modern time can DICE produce?
BF2
BFBC1
BFBC2
BF3
BF4

The last time DICE did something out of that setting was BFBC2: Vietnam but that was only an expansion pack...

I say: give me WW2 era (yes, I want it back..) or future time.
I would prefer WW2 over future time though.

Paypal has massive buyer protection, there's pretty much zero chance of losing money even after getting scammed if Paypal is involved.

not really, no, protection only includes buying goods, not when you transfer money to a person.
Unless it was sarcasm or something, or I don't know something I should.

Yeah sorry I meant that as an addition and support to your statement but wanted to clarify my position regards to my earlier posts in this thread. As I pointed out I bought two rereleased version of previous games so far this year and really looking back on it if it wasn't for the very low cost of entry (and swanky artbook for Sleepy Dawgs) I don't think I would have bothered. GTA V is a different kettle of fish as with a previous generation release with nothing on PC and then delayed for PC while Dark Souls II caused a whole lot of stink, had statements from Namco trying to calm the fires and then this happens.

I would appreciate a little more clarity from the Publishers and not kept in the dark all the time. I feel it's not the best way to treat someone you would want as one of your customers. I'm not going to have a head fit if they were open and said 'Look we want to get these versions out now for PS360 and then release a final version on newer hardware at a later date next year with either a PC release of the earlier build and/or one of the new build to compliment these release' I'd understand. But it smacks of them not wanting to reveal their hand, not to dampen demand and maximise their marketing campaign and subsequent sell through. Plus who knows what these improvements are yet, that's another thing quite closely hidden that probably won't be revealed in full until the game is out at retail or very close.

Obviously not even Paypal can protect one from himself.

I mean you should pretty much know what you are getting into if you are sending money to an unknown Russian fella. I know it sounds a bit racist, but us Finns have long history about these kinds of things and it obviously applies to any unknown fellas.

Talked to a lot of traders and they are panicking pretty hard. They don't even trust to the traders from contact list with whom they've had a lot of trades before. So it's a big step, at least for now.

Personally, i think everyone will just calm down and find a meaning to the word "trust".

Oh and hi again, i see you guys moved to another home.

Yes, Steam sale starts during my week+ off when I still have WoW, LBP3, and GTA 5 PS4 to work through. If poverty stricken, one game a year ten year old me could see me now.

He'd probably tell me to grow up.

Not really happy about the Definitive Edition bs with Dark Souls 2's PC Version. They obviously spent time and money upgrading the renderer and adding further content therefore I can't blame them for wanting to get paid and not release the complete upgrade for free but it still leaves a sour taste.
Luckily i didn't get any of the DLC yet so i might just wait for the new Version to drop to 10-15€ before getting them, so one thing less to look out for during the upcoming sales i guess.

Not amused by the DaS2 news. I never picked up the season pass and I was planning to get it in a sale. So now I can buy that and play the content without whatever DX11 upgrades they're planning. Or I can wait for the new version and then start from scratch because saves don't transfer.

Battlefield 2142 Science fiction setting.

You get right out of here with all that book nonsense!

I love to read, too.

Which taking what yourselves and I'm sure others have said was a bit silly on Namco's part announcing this right before the two big Steam sales and the multitude of other places who would have DSII on offer over the loopy season. Is it going to boost sales of the base game and season pass or deter potential purchasers off knowing around the corner there's a newer version? I suppose that's one good thing getting a heads up that there's something on the horizon.

Umh, Lion Heart is supposed to be the best weapon for Light, right? So why I found it one in a chest in the ebginning of chapter 12?

you do understand that all weapons are the same junk until upgraded and spent millions doing it, don't you? And no, it's not the best weapon, it's just least bad one and has nice PA, although I prefer Axis Blade, for obvious reasons.
the best one is Organyx, only it botches ATM recharge, so it's basically useless, talk about irony

edited: strictly speaking there are no "best" weapons in FF13, as I said before all best ones are pretty much useless, and if you choose them based on PA, all have different uses in different situations, so it's more dependant on your playing style. Also I need to mention that most of second best weapons (if not all) have no PA at all.

Even a starred stage 1 weapon is enough to beat the game (and should be pretty easy to do).
We're talking a difference between doing 100s of damage with lvl 1 stage 1 weapon and doing 3000s of damage with starred stage 1 weapon.
Sure, you can pump up millions of Gil to take it to stage 2/3 - but you're getting diminishing returns with each upgrade level.

ya, if you don't do hunts or farm adamantortoises, there is no much use in upgrading all the way.

Oh, I thought to obtain Lion Heart you need to upgrade a weapon to level 3 :S

you are thinking about
Omega Weapon
To make matters more complicated, all max upgraded weapons of same kind are called the same, even if they have different stats and PAs. I still try to think of one reason why would they do such a thing (><)

Stallion Free

Wasn't it confirmed for PC early next year?

Yep. I'm hoping for January 1st since I'm all done with Unity (98% complete is enough for now) and the DLC is gonna take forever to come out if they follow the Watch Dogs/Black Flags DLC timing and I'm always thirsty for more Ass Creed.

Oh rock of ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still. Oh lady moon shine down, a little people magic if you will.
The Mods have decided that they don't want Community to be something to be ignored and looked down upon, so they moved a bunch of threads there in an attempt to make it a viable alternative to the main boards.
I think it's a good move. And it looks like I can finally follow what's being written in here. The speed at which the topics went over on the other side became a bit crazy. :p

Stallion Free being the new JaseC confirmed.
Sans Uplay savegame removals, one might hope

Have they patched the crosshatched shadows yet?
No idea. Honestly didn't notice any issues with shadow quality myself. Was too busy enjoying the game to take any notice. It's still graphically impressive though in my opinion, but surely grainy shadows shouldn't be a reason to not go and play the game? :(
