Capcom teases new PS4 game

I was thinking the same thing. But Skyrim was the fifth installment in a franchise that had already made a name for itself with Morrowind and Oblivion. It had built in levels of base hype that only grew as they marketed the title. How is it that Capcom was not aware that DD was starting from scratch?

Why are some people assuming it is exclusive? Has it been confirmed?

The TBA announced game from Capcom was only listed for PS4, Ono has teased something from visiting Sony, Verendus has said SCE and Capcom are doing a collab and it wouldn't surprise me if its like Deep Down again with help for the engine.

that 10 mil. quote always seemed like a joke to me. nobody would say that with a straight face.

It's sad that with Capcom, you never know.

10 million was not from Capcom specifically but form the director of the game. Can't remember their actual forecasts but they expected 1 million in Japan and it sold 680k and it was a disappointment in the sales department especially in the West.

I'm not a PC guy, but they should've released it on PC here where it could've gotten more sales. For a couple reasons (desaturated colors, pawn system in place of actual party with personality), I didn't pick up DD. But I thought it had potential to grow and become better.

I can only hope Capcom sees what Sega is doing with Valkyria Chronicles and decides to actually start taking the PC seriously. Sure their ports have been pretty okay as of late (Dead Rising 3 not withstanding) but it's time to hype them up.

Finally get to add my two cents to this.

Obviously I want this to be a new Dino Crisis. The rumoe awhile back did just say this year and never actually specified when. But that's about all I have to really back that up. Since a lot of other talks seemed to be related to stuff already revealed.

Turning heads over seas is the biggest question. Since the interview is from famitsu, that means whatever it is. They suspect it to have a western appeal. Which could mean anything. Since they have tried to have all of there games fit into that.

It's obviously Dino Zone, Capcom x Guerrilla Games. They brought giant lizards in space, now they bring robosaurs in a primitive world.

“It’s gonna be something that will even turn heads overseas.”

Hopefully he doesn't mean like this.

This.. Is not Dragon's Dogma 2, is it? I want a Dragon's Dogma 2 so so bad. I hope Capcom gives it another chance.

Give us one of these games Capcom, they are sure to "turn heads overseas": Dino Crisis, Final Fight, Captain Commando, Rival Schools, Power Stone, or Capcom vs SNK 3.

Still amazed they never brought over Dragons Dogma to PC.
Considering all the money they poured into it, thought they would have tried for every penny. Especially considering the performance issues on consoles.

They should have also given the series a second chance and rerelease the game on current gen consoles.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
I wish it was a Breath of Fire game... Or a successor of Breath of Fire.

About Dragon's Dogma 2:

  • Dragons Dogma vanilla had the largest dev team ever up to that point.
  • Capcom's new policy is that AAA games must sell 2 million to even think about getting a sequel.
  • They wanted DD to sell 10 million. It sold 1.3M.

Not looking so hot.

If they're thinking it will sell more than a mainline RE game, then they must be really crazy.

I think its a new title, to turn heads over seas it had to be game everyone knows, and i dont think dino crisis, rival schools or onimusha fits in that over excited announce, the only sequel i can imagine is a resident evil 7 but even then i dont think its something fantastic, lets hope so!

They must have thought the Demo inclusion with the original run was going to help.
But the game even with that had no marketing. Which nowadays is the biggest thing you need to push sales of that extreme.

Dragon's Dogma 2 will go over extremely well as a filler for people waiting for TES 6. This would be a great time to make it.

The biggest question is "Will turn heads overseas"
Which is just confusing as all hell. The interview is with Famistu so obviously it should be referring to the West.

But if the game was to be revealed at playstation experience or any event over here would it be the reverse?

I'd just like to say that nowhere in the interview does he say that they are working on an exclusive game for the PS4. He was asked if they had anymore PS4 games in development, other than what is currently announced, and he responds by essentially saying, "Yeah, totally, and we'll be revealing one soon." Of course they have more PS4 games in development. They are working on current gen systems now. For all we know, it is a multiconsole release.
If its at PSexperience it will be. So pour a glass of hope and sit back.

resident evil 7.

and this time it won't be a half assed attempt, it'll go full action with michael bay directing it!

capcom forecast that it'll turn every heads on this planet and sell at least 100 million. 80 million would be considered as a flop.

Is it entirely possible its Dragon's Dogma 2 set in ancient China instead of "Europe"?

I'm thinking if there is another DD then they will go the MH root where they build on top of the previous game and reuse a lot of assets (enemies, bosses, weapons, armors) etc.

That's the only way they can keep the budget sane.
