The only news I know about the film are: J.J. is directing it, John Williams is composing, original main trio is back, it's after Episode VI and now this trailer. I have been avoiding MANY things. I hope that's the right thing to do. Although it still makes me sad that KotOR isn't cannon anymore.

1. It really looks like JJ modernized Lucas's style.
2. The two lightsaber sounds we hear are very different.
3. OH MY GOD THE FALCON HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLYSSHIAFHO:JBDV

I'm 99% sure that Stormtoopers are landing on Tatooine either during some storm, or [more likely] with their ships causing wind around landing zone.

These are real suits, right? Not CGI?

The script was shit, so of course the dialogue was going to be shit too.

Hell, I busted out laughing when Ewan McGregor said that Anakin killed "younglings".

The whole experience was shit. Thank god we can look forward to the new trilogy.

Those scripts made a lot of good actors look terrible. Only Liam Neeson had the acting chops to come off as moderately competent in a Star Wars prequel.

Can someone spoil tag what the image was?

+1,000000000000

trying not to be spoiled. pls gaf.

THIS SPOILER CONTAINS THE CONTENT OF THE IMAGE THAT THE USER POSTED.

NOT JOKING. NOT PULLING SOME "LOL FAKE SPOILER PRANK"

you have been warned. i am serious

the image showed a visibly charred Vader mask. People might consider this a spoiler because 'who might have stolen that mask?' or would Luke burn his father and then defile it by taking the Mask? The last thing LUKE would keep would be the mask, as it embodies everything that was VADER about him, so it might have been taken by some Sith 'fanboy' ... plenty of speculation that can be done about this prop. Hence it should be spoiler tagged

I think the new lightsaber is interesting, but the implementation of this idea seems strange. Why isn't the handguard just light? Or can this material deflect a lightsaber attack? Here is a picture to show what I mean:

Can you also draw me up a diagram on how the Falcon flies with just one big rocket in the back? Also how to the x-wings fly in an atmosphere without the wings flying apart?

Thanks.

This is the other one I watched. This isn't fake is it?

the thing that really blows my mind about these films beyond the actual fiction is Driver being an unknown a couple years ago and suddenly going from Girls to being disguised as a fucking sith with a lightsaber walking on a forest all badass

Oscar Isaac's rise is even crazier IMO. Four years ago he was playing small (antagonist) roles in schlock like Sucker Punch and Robin Hood. Hell, his most memorable role up to two years ago was being the guy in Drive that caused shit to hit the fan.

Now he has done a Coen Brothers film, is playing a major role in the new Star Wars, and is the main antagonist in X-Men: Apocalypse.

He is so good in that movie, as I kid I didn't notice but watching it now. To be that good surrounded by that much crap takes incredible skill.

Best thing for me: the blade of the sword looked like a flame, not stable like in the prequels.

Photography is also incredible, the movie feels like an 80s movie or a serie-B project with 2014 tech and a $300M budget

Not sure if anyone has noticed this previously with other leaked photos, but it looks like the wings on the x-wing fighters are half as wide and don't fold on top of one another when they close together. The top wings are posteriorly positioned while the bottom wings are anteriorly positioned so that they fit together like a puzzle on the same single plane when the wings close.

EDIT: Ah, I just saw somebody already posted the same thing. Damn, this thread is moving faster than the Destiny OT.

I normally don't praise teaser trailers, but this teaser was well done. The special effects look real and gritty, and not glossy and tacky.

I enjoyed it. A nice teaser. It didn't reveal the entier movie, or even what the movie's about. It wasn't a 2 minute version of the movie, which is always great.

I also liked how practical most of the visual effects looked. It didn't seem to have that weird, green screen look that the prequel trilogy suffered from. I'm hoping Abrams did mostly practical shoots, with special effects being used just for that, "special" effects. That cross guard on the lightsaber is silly.

The shot of the Falcon was amazingly cool, as was the shot of the X-Wings over the water.

With all of that said, I don't think it was an incredible trailer, just a very well done one. My rule of "Better the trailer, worse the movie/Worse the trailer, better the movie," has me concerned, but the trailer was jaw-dropping. The theatrical trailer is what I'm craving next.

I'm excited for a Stars Wars movie again. Of course, I was just as excited for the prequel movies as well back then. I'm a fan of J.J. Abrams, however, and have enjoyed all of the movies of his I've seen so far.

Right and this is a sequel. I just dont get the whole "good they are not shown, if I see them the movie is worse" NO ITS NOT, seeing them will make 99% of the people be filled with joy.We never thought this would happen, this is a gift, take it.

it's a gift, yes. Which is why we don't get to unwrap it until release. No need to put them in the teaser just for fan service.

We'll be unwrapping that gift at "christmas" (2015), and not take a peek at Thanksgiving (2014) already. I'm sure we'll get a shot of Luke in the actual Trailer(s).

Also, today we met one of our most iconic, most cherished friends again - the Millenium Falcon.

that lightsaber seems dumb

otherwise, looks good

practically guaranteed to be the best Star Wars movie since the 80s

Oh shit. I never connected the dots with that leaked image. Haven't read any spoilers directly about it but... guess I should avoid them.

Such a silly rule
IMO of course

Every planet shot was very basic, no major sci-fi cities like in the prequels. Of course this is just a teaser but maybe JJ goes back to the simple themed planets of the OT. Like the snow forest planet, or the mountain planet.
