With many thanks to Auqa^^

NPD November 2013::

PS4 - 1138K
XB1 - 909K
360 - 647K
PS3 - 425K
WIU - 223K
WII - 83K

The numbers don't really tell the story well.

IIRC, PS4 was supply constrained and sold like crazy at first and then with no stock numbers didn't move as much. Xbox One on the other hand shipped later, but still sold a good amount but over a longer period of time. This was when Major Nelson spun his "fastest selling console" stuff to make the 909k seem better than it actually was. So, PS4 was likely supply constrained around Black Friday, and that is where Xbox One rounded out the rest of it's numbers.

A Pyrrhic victory is still a victory I guess. I'm not in the market for an Xbone right now, but I will be sooner or later. I'm sure as shit never paying more than $329 for one though, unless it's bundled with some really must-have games.

Can't believe the Xbox 360 still had 9% compared to the PS3 1%, but then again it's 'Merica. How is Nintendo not bombing the price on Black Friday, I mean come on ONE day.

Are there other Black Friday numbers for last year? Not NPD. Too drunk to search

Do we know how many consoles were sold on Black Friday? November NPDs don't really mean anything because they are tracking the entire month.

That said, the sampling method is obviously less than ideal. It's interesting data, but shouldn't be used to draw any conclusions.

Do we have any other information for black friday 2013? We have the monthly results and Sony won that, but do we any sources for black friday?

Hmm I actually can't find any numbers from last BF so I could be wrong on my assertion. At any rate I don't think this information can be used to draw a definitive conclusion on who sold the most consoles on BF.

Awesome news for Microsoft. How accurate is infoscout?

They track like ~1,800 video game console receipts.

Positives about Infoscout:

1) They have 18 employees in San Francisco who seem reputable

2) P&G, Nestle, Unilever, Anheuser-Busch, Pepsico, Kraft, Henkel, Hallmark, and COTY subscribe to their retail data analytics service...but no video game companies

Negatives about Infoscout:

1) All the customers in the sample size have smartphones and are savvy with them

2) All the customers in the sample size upload their receipts for rewards and "fun experiences"

3) All the customers in the sample size give Infoscout whatever they want...the data collection is a passive activity and their percentages are not necessarily representative

4) Infoscout is a very new company (they launched in 2012) so they don't necessarily have the history or reputation of an older company

5) It is valid to call into question their accuracy when taking previous results into the equation.

6) They released this data for free.

chartz level of accuracy greater than this source

at least get a real WiiU logo

I actually think it's a bit more accurate than Chartz.

Chartz's sampling methods are really piss-poor and shouldn't be taken seriously.

Oft hope is born when all is forlorn.
Look at that Xbox 360 numbers. And not just this chart but even going with the NPD data, software still sells so much on Xbox 360, its crazy. Say what you want, but 360 still prints money for Microsoft and can't say the same for PS3.

Tell us more.

I work at a real estate company. I know of 2 people who bought XB1's this month and one of our contract closers bought that GTA PS4 bundle.

I can extrapolate based on this information that XB1 outsold the PS4 2:1.

Excuse me while I go post my November predictions.

It doesn't seem like these stats are really important or very indicative but I wouldn't put last year's stats from them next to November 2013 NPD. Both the Xbox One and PS4 sold a ton before Black Friday 2013 thanks to the console launch build-up.

The 360 is a drop in the bucket for MS. It doesn't print money at all.

You can, if you consider that there are other lands than the US of A on God's green planet.

You forgot the dog. They do have a cool dog.

Was gonna say, I've never heard of these cats and I work in market research. Plus, no one with an established track record or customer base would release this stuff for free.

That isn't to say the findings aren't good, but I wouldn't take these as gospel or include them on any summary report for the weekend.

Great point. I'll add that point to the "Negatives" list.

Good for Microsoft if this is factual, but considering Microsoft had a HUGE price cut with 2 free games, I would be a little concerned if they didn't win November sales. I do admire their aggressiveness to get those consoles out there.

Yay Aqua is back :D :D :D

I'm also extremely weirded out by this app. It's basically the final piece of connecting your everything to marketers, banks, criminals, criminal bankers, etc. Rewards better be sweet.

Yeah, I feel like launch years are going to produce pretty wacky sales data in regard to Black Friday. Most retailers aren't going to offer massive discounts on the hardware (since the stock will sell out regardless) - and there's virtually no reason for the mass audience to adopt the product at that point.

I think this data has some potential problems, but can still tell us the broad strokes of how the sales went down. It's obvious that the ONE outsold the PS4. The discounts were sharper, and BF is driven around price sensitive goods. But as far as how well this represents the ratio - that's up in the air. For one, this really ignores online-based customers. The PS4 had the same discount across the board. Why not buy it online if you're interested?

So PS4 has actually made up ground?

If they didn't win at almost $100 less then I'd say they were complete failures tbh

The king that never won a generation? Xbox is Viserys Targaryen CONFIRMED.

Not sure I understand. This is the US market we're talking about. Not only was the 360 significantly ahead of the PS3 in that region, it probably surpassed the Wii as well a while ago.

I don't get this? Yeah they won November last year but at Black Friday you couldn't find a PS4 really anywhere.
