It summons all the people who don't suck at Batman games lol.

Is this a compliment of sorts? :3
I wrote a great post on origins, I thought, earlier in this thread.
The combat is definitely "off" when compared to AA and AC, but once you adapt to the slight difference, it's really not a problem...

Scarlett form where you have to stab her legs.
There was a QTE that would repeat infinitely making you unable to progress. I'm reinstalling the game on Steam soon so I'll see if I can reach that part and actually beat it using a 360 pad. (Initially I played with keyboard+mouse)

Regardless of whether this was the cause of your specific problem, this is still a problem. :lol

Enemies attack faster (smaller counter window) and the controls feel less sluggish in Origins.

and people say the combat in oranges is worse than city?

what? it sounds like it isn't as button mashy from what you've described

oranges needs a complete edition, WB pls

I beat it that boss with the 360 pad ok, it just took me quite a few tries. The QTEs were a bit finicky, but nothing broke the way you described.

Guess I'll have to give it a try!

I'm thinking that precisely could've caused it but, you know, I'm the insane person who cleared both Silent Hill 2 and 3 PC ports using the keyboard. I was in tears of joy when I read in a magazine (before I even had Interweb at home) that Konami was venturing forth into the PC market with several titles.

Bugfixing? Never personally had a problem in the single player... and as far as fixes go? Support for the game is over and done with. They stopped patching the main game after awhile to focus on the Cold, cold heart DLC (still need to play that bit)...

But again, I've never hit a bug that was bad enough that I committed it to my memory. Just playing it now didn't even jog any recollections of horrible glitches. I've played over 40 hours of the game.
Now I know that some people did... but this isn't consoles. Drivers improve, hardware has different configurations, so your experience may not be the same as someone elses... thus I might have a clean play, someone else might have some random glitches, and yet others might have game breaking apocalypse shit. But a unique player will never know unless they try it on their own system, as again, this isn't a console game with a set hardware profile... (speaking of which, I wonder if Mossmouth ever patched Spelunky on Vita after the new FW fucked the game up visually...)

Speaking of playing, here's the webm I promised:

Pure luck, Origins has numerous well documented glitches, some can be fixed by reloading the checkpoint (which I had to do a couple of times during the first few hours), others need more inventive workarounds. And that's after the worst of the worst got patched before they gave up, probably after realizing it would take too much work to save this mess.

What's that old saying?
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

And yet, clean Origins playthrough on normal and half the game on hard. Did I hit something somewhere where it got a little off and so I reloaded a checkpoint? Maybe. But as PC enthusiasts, it comes with the territory. AMD vs. Nvidia and all that crap. :p

I never hear nabs or stallion bitching about bad glitches or bugs either. I suppose they must've had some pure luck too to get relatively clean playthroughs. ;)

Luckily my game broke after I already beat it. Shame I couldn't work towards 100%.

Let me tell you about bad luck, my friend...
What I played of Oranges was nothing but bugs =p

Gamesplanet started "XMAS dailies", 2 games per day. Today's games: Crysis trilogy 75% off (Origin) and 75% off SRIV GOTC

Lucky.

Origins was rife with problems for me... Wonky combat, glitched geometry, even fucked flying physics - and that's only the bugs. The design problems largely stem from the shock gloves, which flatten the combat into a one-sided slaughter, instead of the tightly coreographed dance that Rocksteady's games feature. Some of Origins' missions were a neat idea, but the investigations and story don't go far enough to achieve anything interesting. Even the game's highpoint (you know the one) is largely out of sight, with only the tale end experienced by the player - contrary to both Arkham City's and Arkham Asylum's established legacy.

Comparing Origins to the other Arkham games is like comparing an apple... to an orange.

Too late lol but thanks anyway.
Actually, I still haven't received a confirmation e-mail from gmg regarding my purchase. This is weird. My connection actually crashed right after making the purchase but the account credit I used is gone so it should have registered.

Edit: well, the activation code is in my gmg account so it doesn't matter.

And you have the latest Thief at the same price too.

That is ofcourse true, and the very nature of our beloved platform. But there are quite a lot of wide-spread issues with Oranges, including a lot of people needing to lower the gravity to fix a bunch of odd bugs. My mate had the funniest bug with that once... But eh, yeah. Cold hearted DLC indeed. :(

Although I wont say it's a bad game, but I personally find it inferior to the other Arkham offerings; some of the gameplay is better, but the writing and overall worldbuilding isn't.

... In my opinion, obviously. :p

I really don't know and I CBA to go to bundlestars to check for myself.

I checked Bundlestars and can't find it, and now I'm searching the previous pages of the 2 current Steam threads. I'm a hundred percent sure somebody mentioned the game for like $5 and trying 3 times to get the voucher to work.

Thankfully I'm not the only one who disliked Origins in here. I agree that the combat never felt as "tight" as it did in the Rocksteady games. The overall design was also sloppier (granted, I liked the investigation stuff, and some of the stuff they added, but it lacked the overall polish that Rocksteady brings to the table).

Not an awful game by any means, it just pales in comparison to the Rocksteady-developed games. It essentially epitomizes the concept of the rushed cash-grab formula -- take a working base, change just enough so that it can be called "new" and get it out in time for Christmas, bugtesting and QA be damned.

Wasn't it the GMG VIP price+voucher or something?

Ugh Risen 3 looks like something I would really enjoy but that price is steep. For some inexplicable reason I loved Risen 2 and it seems to be that but better. I'll hold off until the inevitable 75%.

The only two bugs I encountered were patched. My replay this year was completely flawless.

Yet I don't understand why you need to get banned for necro
h
umping.
Is it that annoying to people? Most of the times it brings decent new discussion to the thread again.

If I were to bump a HL3 related hype thread, would I get banned? Even knowing the discussion is still very relevant nowadays?
If yes, that does not make any sense at all. It's like there is an expiration date to topic subjects.

No thanks. I find it disgusting when my tip touches the inside rim of the porcelain. And I have to squeeze my legs together "Silence of the Lambs" style to keep it down.

Are you for real?
I lay it on top of the thing where your legs also rest on. (dont know the name)
