Played more tonight. Game is still beautiful but now I can't stop looking at the sun through the trees and getting pissed.

I don't understand this sentiment. Am I the only one that is very disappointed by the graphics?
It feels/looks like a PS3 game in 1080p. Some of the textures are just terrible and unexcusably bad, and the pop/draw in is beyond unforgivable(like most games this gen).
It's not ugly, it's just very last gen.
Go do an A-B comparison with Far Cry 3 on consoles. I did yesterday. FC4 is easily a generation ahead on the new machines.

It's true, and it looks great, but i do agree that it's lacking a certain next gen oomph. I think for example that KZ:SF looks better, and it also ran at higher framerate (well, maybe, that's hard to say as you can't play with unlocked framerate in FC4)Go do an A-B comparison with Far Cry 3 on consoles. Yes, you're the only one. Out of curiosity, are you using the stock hard drive? I'm using a hybrid drive and pop in is not that bad, and I'm someone that hates it. It drove me nuts in infamous second son.
Here's my theory:
Ubisoft paid licensing for using third-party generated god rays for two weeks. The license expired, so they legally had to remove them from the game.
Works out great for them. All the reviews come out, they get applauded for their amazing graphics, then let all the licenses expire and they save some dough after the initial sales.
I would trade the stutter from the PC version for no sun rays.

You make it sound like the loss of god rays is a tragedythis is just horrible. Just yesterday I was thinking of buying this game for PS4

"Volumetric light" can be a bit misleading if the type of godray is in fact not volumetric. I feel lightshafts are less ambiguous, and a more suitable fit.I call it volumetric light.
Sunbream sounds stupid.
hammer their twitter and get an explanation for this. If it was to "improve" framerate it was already stable
Well HBAO is NVIDIA exclusive and it's on consoles like in Battlefield 4But if godrays as an Nvidia exclusive thing is in a contract, is it possible they'd have to remove any form of godrays from a console version?
HBAO+ is created by Nvidia, not exclusive to their cards and not present n Battlefield 4. The + actually means something when Nvidia mentions HBAO+.Well HBAO is NVIDIA exclusive and it's on consoles like in Battlefield 4

Moments like this are hilarious, but the eagle animation is just terrible.

was hunting a deer & a eagle swooped in and flew off with it, then murdered it.
Pretty sure the animations are a Birdemic reference.
I just finally got around to beating The Evil Within and threw this into the PS4 as my next game, but I'm guessing I might be better off waiting to see if this gets fixed? I have Wolfenstein and Mordor to still play.
If that turns out to be the case, it looks like Child of Light is the last Ubisoft game I ever buy. I do sincerely hope that's not the case.Their silence confirms that the removal was intentional.
I went to play MP with a buddy last night and.. WHERE IS THE PARTY SYSTEM!!?

This is a final straw situation rather than raging over the removal of one feature. I'm just sick of Ubisoft's bullshit.this thread is hilarious
some of these replies (like that last one)...
reads like a parody man

get yo' priorities straight
