Downloaded the update, and got a whiff of the DLC...there's a difference between enjoying and overhyping stuff up. Personally, im looking for the positives and negatives, not just the positives. Waiting for the right time to pull the trigger...VIP makes the game more enjoyable for me, this DLC might add more, which is what I'm looking for.

Defensive much?

I'm curious much.
How is 2 people talking about weather in mainline Forza games good feedback for you when deciding whether to buy this DLC?

If it were just the other racers on the map with you I would leave damage on. But sometimes be the AI traffic cars do some crazy shit.

This is true. When doing the high speed bucket lists, my god some AI cars will just pull out onto the road just as you are passing them. But then... a lot of people do some stupid shit on roads in real life too, especially where I live.

Nothing worse then doing a speed challenge bucket list, only to turn the last corner and have some Econo box right in the middle of the driving line your taking. >_<

I'd recommend to everyone turning the music of and engine sounds down a bit so you can hear the wind better.
Well I liked it anyway!

The people you previously quoted were not even talking about the DLC.

ANYWAY... Loving it so far, it's pulled me right back into FH, gonna go get my barn find now :) .

I know everyone wants it, but pro circuit motorsports would red flag in such weather.

I'm not talking torrential rain here, just light rain which gives a slightly different tone to the game.

Also, Forza 4 had different times of day for some courses, which leaves me baffled why it was gone in Forza 5.

Infineon Raceway Time 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qF0HztSGAD8

Infineon Raceway Time 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJFGEm6mjkY

Change which is subtle, but still gives a bit of variation.

Which is sort of how the weather is with this new DLC. The heavy rain is not a life-changer, but the lighting and effects it gives make the races look different than those on the Mainland. The fog is quite nice

I think the main draw of this DLC is the more hilly terrain the Island brings to it, making it seem more of a Rally DLC, but where you are racing the opponents directly rather than by time.

I tend to go against the grain here then.

Full damage simulation on because it means driving right on the edge without going past it and going overboard or out of control. You actually have to hit jumps right, thread the needle through trees and against traffic or through fields. You always know you are one misjudgment or screw up away from your race being over. Its exhilarating.

Its infinitely more rewarding coming through and winning a race (or bucket list challenge) unscathed with full damage on in this game vs any other game I've ever played.

Then there is the nice change of pace and opportunity to relax and just cruise when doing the road trips in between.

All of this is why it pisses me off that there are no full damage only lobbies online for this game. The online bumper cars bullshit can easily be solved in this game through having lobbies with full damage only.

That's some ironman stuff right there. My hat's off to you, I tried playing with simulation damage on, as I always do in FM, but I care about my hair too much. Although, to be fair, you still have to pay attention to all those things even when playing with cosmetic damage if your difficulty settings are high enough.

Forza 5 was a launch game that MS most likely didn't want to delay. Obviously things had to be cut in order to make the deadline. I'd be surprised if time of day doesn't return in Forza 6.

Yea, I started out with simulation damage (and used to complain about it not being an option in FH1), but felt like I was racing against opponents playing by a completely different ruleset. Cross-country races were nightmare, as I'd lose so much time to ensure I wasn't destroying my car when attempting to overtake, or landing from jump etc.. whilst all the AI around me gave no fucks whatsoever.

I'd be interested in having simulation damage online, where I can be confident it has the same effect on everyone else, but as for the campaign... fuck it, lol.

Youre aware that the two posts you quoted as a "not overhyped feedback" were actually talking about the possible weather and day/night cicle for Forza Motorsport 6, and not Forza Horizon 2, right?

What is the Barn Find?

That "hidden" car you need to find in a certain area. The DLC added a new one! :)

They'd also expect people to put petrol in cars. I think some artistic license can be given.

Forza 6 needs weather, man.

Beardawalt's 6th baby needs to be special. Just more cars and tracks isn't going to cut it.
It's going to be very interesting to see what happens..

Oh I know that ;)

Which car is it?

When the barn find is posted, can it be posted in spoiler tags? I really don't want to know before I get a chance to play this weekend. I'm already pissed off that the radio announcers spoiled the Willys MB.

I echo this as well. Don't spoil it for everyone please.

Location is Posted in spoilers a few pages back. But be careful as the car type is not spoilered

It's such a silly little thing, but I absolutely love semi-opaque window banners in racing games.

Impressions sound great so far.

Noobcraft, nice videos.

Shandy- GIFs please!

I've been playing Storm Island for most of the morning, it's excellent! Because it's mainly off road I'm racking up skill points like there's no tomorrow.

Man that 1st "gauntlet" race is hard...I might have to turn on some assists and lower the difficulty...

I say this with a smile plastered on my face

I haven't finished the main campaign, but it's definitely harder than my attempt to race a Supra in a cross country race with rain - and that was hard as heck

Played for a bit last night when I came home. It was really fun. My favorite part of the main game was the off road races. The first three races or so of the dlc really scratched that itch. Can't wait to get home and play more.

So who got this Range Rover bucket challenge?

It's my last one, and it's driving me crazy. I'm taking damage from ankle-high plants. :/

Took me about 30 minutes to do. The best advice I can give is to ignore the GPS, drive straight forward into the large field, then just find your way through any big tree gaps and use rewind like there's no tomorrow.

Also, use bonnet camera, trust me.

Preach! I did that crap using cockpit, but the rest rings true.

Cockpit, bumper, or bonnet works really. You just need the extra close vision because it feels like you're more in touch with the wheels than in chase cam, which is pretty necessary with the amount of obstacles there are.

This might be a dumb question but in the EU do the other racers drive on the left? I really wish you could enable this in the NA version. I mean you are driving in a real location, why not let us choose to keep the immersion?

Hehe yeah definitely would like to see some more.

The Turbo's wheel came off on the M1 as were travelling back from London one day. Very nearly shit my pants.

Wow!

When I was still at school my mum had a very early metro city, driving along one day she pulled the gear lever clean out (not just the knob the whole lever!)... pretty sure she shit her pants! ;)

Its only the UK (in Europe) where we drive on the left, in France/Italy they drive on the right

When will they fix the bug where your body kit changes don't appear in garage unless/until you reapply a design scheme, paint job or load a design?

I am surprised you have not been banned for your trolling/bait infused posts. It is not amusing and makes you look like an ass on top of ruining/derailing threads where people want to have proper discussions without the bait/trolling posts that you tend to throw up from time to time.

I've been banned for less shit then what he wrote. I've seen others banned for less shit then that.

I don't own it (yet) but my only gripe about rain in horizon 2 is the rain on the windshield, there's not enough of it especially in a downpour, the demo was enough to tell me that.

Does the expansion in any way improve the main game?

I only just ordered the game and haven't played it yet (haven't even turned on the Xbox yet). So I won't need any additional content for a long time. However, if the expansion in any way made the main game better...

It added a few modifications like rally tires/suspension & some body kits that are available in the main game. The rally suspension in particular will be very helpful for some of the events on the main game. Plus those upgrades are free for everyone.
