Microsoft FY2015 Q2: 6.6M 360+XBO Shipped

These shipped numbers are good, but what I'm wondering is just how theses numbers are going to factor in the the next quarter's worth of shipments. We've already had several insiders claiming that they had 1000s of XBO's sitting in distribution warehouses. If these are slow selling months for consoles, and every warehouse is already full, shipment numbers are going to be low moving forward.

Is there any idea of the USA/ROW split?

Are you still suggesting that the Xbox One is below 10m sold through?
That is exactly what I'm saying. The price cut was only in the UK and the US. Even then we know that PS4 outsold XB1 in the UK (Nov + Dec combined). There was just a debate about them hitting 10M shipped and now we're automatically saying 10million sold- through? People are inflating Xbox One shipments numbers drastically.

It might be a possibility although there aren't signs of strong sales outside of the holiday period even with the price cut.

We can only guess considering how MS is putting 360 and XB1 figures together...
Still I think that the sold through figure is closer to 10m than 9m and it better be :D
I'm think it's somewhere north of 9.5 Million. But it's insane how some are suggesting an additional 1M on top of that.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Sold-through should be higher than 10 millions, probably between 10,500,000 and 11,000,000

Assuming the 12m~ shipped LTD for Xb1 is accurate (or thereabouts) 360 is at around 87 million shipped. Really impressive!!

How? HOW? With 6,600,000 units shipped in, just how much do you think the 360 shipped? How much do you think the Xbox One shipped?

You are basically saying that the Xbox One has >1,000,000 units on store shelves if you think it's still below 10,000,000 sold through.

The same happened with the Xbox 360 in 2006. They went from selling in 4.4m units in Q4 to 0.5m units in Q1.

Now at least here, MS have dropped the price of the Xbox One in both the US and UK (unofficial) so they will be looking to get rid of some of the stock and supply new stock throughout Q1. Don't expect it to be a high selling quarter though. There will be a very sharp drop, as always really.

Not really, there was a debate about it but we were able to prove that 10m sold through+ was possible. see below.

I'm think it's somewhere north of 9.5 Million. But it's insane how some are suggesting an additional 1M on top of that.

We proved that in 2014 that the US + UK + GER + FRA were able to sell through more than 5.7m units. Add in the 2013 figures of 3m worldwide and you get 8.7m units as a minimum.

It's not hard to see that ROW (which accounts for 38 markets) would sell more than 1m in 2014.

Either way, it's not hard to see 10m+

Remember that shipped consoles aren't just on store shelves. They are in warehouses, distribution centers, and even on boats. They get counted as shipped way before they even can be sold to consumers.

How many Xbox 360's do you believe they shipped?

Which would mean that they shipped 3M XB1 between June and December 2014, so more than that (out of the 10.1M XB1+360) over Apr-Dec.
But we're told 360 sales "collapsed"?

Still, the Xbox One had 900k "shipped" leftover back in 2013. That number isn't going to be bigger the next go around.

Yep, I agree completely. Based on the information we got, retailers in the US are channel stuffed and so are German retailers. And who knows how much stock is resting in warehouses in ROTW? There could easily be as much as ~1-1.5 million in warehouses, so ~9.75 million sold through is still reasonable.

Based on what, exactly? Besides a statement made on a conference call by Natella (we don't even know what he was using as a source) We have nothing that says says they even hit the 10million shipped yet. While I'm pretty sure they did hit the number I don't think they sold every unit especially since there were reports of extreme overstock. I don't think Microsoft shipments increased, I think they prioritized certain markets over others (like they did at launch). 6.3 Million in America LTD. 1.3 million in UK so 7.6M. Please explain where they other 2.9 million is coming from when UK is their 2nd largest market?

Why not separate the numbers, or do we just lump it all as One numbers?

Amalgamated numbers like this are usually to hide low or disappointing total figures. For instance, Sony also did this (perhaps still does?) with PSP + Vita figures, deliberately obfuscating the Vita hardware numbers.

Doesn't sound out of the realm of possibility to me. That could be in just the US alone

Wrong. We do. 360 decreased YOY which means the absolute minimum XB1 shipped out of that 6.6m was 3.2m. XB1 estimates were around 7.4/7.5m end of Q1 so that'd put it around 10.6m/10.7m.

And that's assuming 360 went from 3.5m last year to 3.4m this year. Do you really think 360 only dropped 100k yoy when it's a year older, and dropped 700k in the US alone?

This is why under 11m LTD shipped makes no sense whatsoever.

Yes it is.

No, it isn't.

They are really close to being 2:1 in just the US. WW they are likely well over that.

What?! The gap there is 500k .........

8.7m comes from 2013 + USA+UK+GER+FRA 2014.

There was a leak on here that bish confirmed that said sell through as of December was around ~8.3m worldwide. If you add USA December to that you're already at 9.5m sold through. December is the busiest month of the year and 41 markets are going to buy more than just 500k. Especially if you just look at say the UK, Canada, France, Germany and a couple of other.s

Do you guys really think Xbox 360 did as well as it did last year? Of course it didn't. It did a lot worse this year. Even if we take the highest number for 360 possible (which wouldn't be possible) we would still see more than 11 million Xbox One's shipped worldwide.

Canada is likely bigger than France by a sizable margin for the 3rd biggest market for Xbox, Australia is up there too

UK is Xbox's 2nd largest market and the only other region to receive a price cut (along with America during that time) UK is probably 1.3million LTD since they just announce they passed 1 million not too long ago. But Sony still won UK (NOV + DEC combined). Sorry ROTW makes up 4.2 million when we know for a fact that it's dead outside US and UK

Just to put this in some kind of perspective.

USA sold more Xbox Ones in 1 month what the UK sold in one year.

XB1 shipped less than 10m? LOL! For that to happen, 360 would have have to out-ship XB1 in the last quarter... Yeah not gonna happen.

While I agree there is tons unsold, that assasins creed bundle was flying over shelves atleast here in Australia. Surely there isn't that many old dusty titanfall bundles noone wants.

nice to see them make a profit in even gaming division

8.7M sold though as of when?

Did any part of Microsoft do poorly? Seriously they fucking killed it this quarter.

If you look at the numbers, The Xbox division did rather poorly.

Combined sales decrease YoY, and -20% revenue (due to the massive price cut and bundling in Nov/ Dec).
