I'd be surprised if Sony didn't already have Miyazaki lined up for the sequel. Just look at how they're treating the game. I can't remember them doing a going gold event for any game.

2 year dev cycle. It will require at least that much for another exclusive if it's in the pipes. 2017, Holidays, least.
Depends on the deal between Kadokawa and From imo. Do we know if From's purchase is like Sega and Atlus where Sega allows Atlus do whatever they want?

That was my original thought way back when they showed the Cleric Beast fight during the daytime instead of night like we had scene all the time up to that point.
I would love for the World Tendency system to return. Made the world feel so dynamic and made it feel like your actions had real effect on the world.

I didnt think sony was smart enough to realise Miyazaki was very pivotal to these games. They specifically asked for Miyazaki according to the IGN video and during the initial e3 reveal his name comes up first before anything as well as Shu saying they are working with one of the industry's most respected directors
If they want to carry on the IP or even just collabing again for a new title i can see it hinging on Miyazaki.

Yeah it seems that Sony has learned their lesson from the Demon's Souls fiasco and they also know the importance of Miyazaki when it comes to designing these games (especially if they've noticed the reception of Dark Souls 2.)
The only thing that worries me is how much time Miyazaki will continue to have for development now that he has been appointed president of From Software.

He said in the new Famitsu interview that things will continue as they currently are where he'll direct games while being president. He talked about how he had a lot of talented people around him while directing Bloodborne, so he could confidently leave them to do certain things without worrying about it.

I remember him saying that...i hope it was honest talk and not just PR.They know that the fans want Miyazaki to direct as many FromSoft games as possible so maybe he's saying what their PR have told him to say.And overseeing a project is definitely not the same as directing it himself.

I'm not feeling it in my hands right now. The smooth plastic cover sliding through my fingers as I caress the corners. Sliding my fingernails up and down the top grabbing the shapely rise so I can rip that cover off, open it up nice and wide .. push down the button and pop out that perfectly circular Blu-Ray.

The notion isn't stupid... disliking a game because of preconceived notions kinda are. I would have never tried P4G if it weren't for the praise of GAF because I have absolutely zero use for anime but I am glad I did.
Guess I am completely off topic but this game is in no way a traditional Japanese game...
Who else would they ask? He wasn't making Dark Souls 2 was he? The whole idea is to revive the excitement of the original Demons Souls collaboration.
Like it's superior sales and critical reception? It seemed like every souls fan was insisting Demons > Dark before Dark 2 came and whining for a Demons 2.

Every one is different, so it is possible this game may not be up you ally. For me, I have bought, played, and failed to beat every game in the series thus far, but I still feel inclined to get this day one. For me it is the art, setting, and atmosphere that has me interested and the fact that my younger brother is picking it up means that for the first time I will have a co op buddy to help me through the hard times. My advice? Have one of you buddies share play it to you so you can try it out for an hour or two with them giving you hints and advice where you need it. If you dig it, buy it and play it co op with them^^
