Bloodborne launch trailer

But we are speaking about a first run....

If you have beaten Demon's in 40 hours during your first run congratulations...

Its funny when I first played Demons I kept hearing about the difficulty the difficulty the difficulty. So before playing I told my, then fiance now wife, " im going to finish 1-1 without dying! "

I proceeded to kick 1-1's ass. Was really careful around all the corners, and hid behind pillars against the boss and tried not to make too many mistakes.

I then was moving along 1-2 and such and decided .. yeah I want a different character. So I remade the character and did 1-1 again.

2nd time around 1-1 took me 2 hours to beat lol. First time around it was like 25 minutes maybe. Was hilarious.

In the end though, my timer showed 35 hours and 27 minutes I believe. Somewhere in there.

FInished Demon's Souls in around 50 hours. Dark Souls and Dark Souls II in around 40

45 hours seems normal to me.

I played Demons after Darks 1 and 2. It took me around 30 hours too. I used the wiki occasionally though - Meatcleavered my way through the game.

45 hours seems pretty normal for the main story. I'm sure I'll be playing 100+ hours eventually trying to beat ng+(+++) and finding all the secrets.

Eventually spent more than 100 hours playing Demon's.

Hell, I finished Dark Souls in around 40 hours, but eventually clocked almost 200 hours with that game.

Yeah 45+ hours is more than enough time, plus the fact the Chalice Dungeon doesn't seem to be up yet so right there is more replay ability. God having to wait for this game is killing ME!

this. I've logged hundreds of hours in all the games on my platinum hunts and just helping ppl with coop. its my favorite parts of the games really.

got the dark souls 2 plat in under 80 hours. had no qualms with length.

The Chalice Dungeon is going to eat my free time. The whole game is going to...

I'm planning on finding all the secrets in the main game, which will probably take me a long time to do. And then there's the Chalice Dungeo - an infinite timesink.

Bllodborne is going to keep me happy for a looooooooooooooooooooong time.

I really don't mind how long it is, as long as it isn't painfully short compared to other Souls games, which doesn't seem to be the case.

40 or 80 hours, either way I'll be playing it for hundreds of hours, NG+, testing different builds, challenge runs, PVP and then speedruns once the strats come out (I'm ridiculous at finding out stuff by myself, I'll just wait for the speedrunning community).

EDIT: I also beat Demon's in less than 40 hours on my first run, so thanks?

How hard was it to Platinum Demons Souls and Dark Souls? I don't remember...

demons was absolutely brutal if you did it legit without the item duping.

farming that pure bladestone... *shudders* was absolutely worth it though.

dark souls was quite a bit easier as long as you commited to multiple playthroughs.

Oh good lord this looks absolutely amazing. I was pretty much on a media blackout for this but I remember watching the DS2 launch trailer and having it make me 10x more hyped than I already was.

Consider me 20x more hyped than I already was.

Dark Souls wasn't super hard to platinum. Just had to make it to Sif in NG++ so you could make all the weapons

Demon's Souls is harder to grind for materials so you can end up like me where I have 95% and am stuck there because eff the pure bladestone.

Just to get this out of the way

HLTB souls sereis main story playtime

Demons Souls : 32.46 hours
Dark Souls : 48.42 hours
Dark Souls 2 : 47.09 hours

Getting the avg gives us about 42-3 hours.
Bloodborne is pretty standard then if we are getting 45+hours

I beat Dark in 80 hours and then Demon's in 40.

Since then I've done Dark in 12 and Demon's in under 20. I think I could clear dark in 4 hours if I planned a build carefully to avoid any grinding and went straight at it.

I really enjoy soaking up every last detail though so I tend to luxuriate in the atmosphere instead of rushing through.

Both I found difficult for trivial reasons.

DeS - blade stone.
DS1 - collect all weapons, I completed the game several times over but could never be bothered to organise a run where I got all the weapons on one character.

Heh, it took me around 50-60ish hours with my first souls, Dark 1.
But Dark Souls 2, being a way larger game, took me around 20-30ish at most.

40 hours seems right.

Hey EU/German gaf, this will be most likely censored there right?
Because I'm after the saw cleaver steelbook edition and that seems to be EU only.

Especially if you played pure melee. I did pure melee for god, probably the first 200 hours. Then decided to make a mage centric character and a Ranger type character.

Was so much easier with some of the bosses and enemies I felt like it was cheating lol.

According to this news from schnittberichte.com, the game releases uncut as told by SCE Germany.

I'm actually surprised this is rated 16 by the USK, considering the ridiculous amount of blood that's gushing all over the place.

loving what i'm hearing so far. it seems like
beast mode
is tied to online functionality according to the redditor. interesting.

I'll make a spoiler thread.

I know some of you will click it anyway because we have weak will so I'll make these rules for now (pre-release):

What can be posted in this thread without spoiler tags:

Game Mechanics
Stat Descriptions
Origin Descriptions / Starting Stats

What can not be posted in this thread unless spoiler tagged:

Location Names / Connected Locations / Number of Locations
Item Names / Descriptions / Locations
Weapon Names / Descriptions / Locations
Trophy Names / Descriptions / Acquisition Method
Lore Implications
NPC Names / Dialogue / Locations
Enemy Names / Locations / Descriptions / Dialogue
Boss Names / Locations / Descriptions / Dialogue
Special Events (example: unique enemy spawns)

Used the same system as that reddit thread :)

It took me around 30 hours to beat Demon's on my very first run. It was my first Souls games and I didn't use guides for the most part

40 hours is more than reasonable, specially since people are used to these games by now.
Yeah I'd say so as well. Although I beat Dark Souls 1 in 110 hours and I haven't beaten Ds2 yet but I have 49 hours so far. I like to explore and grind for things.
