Not to mention it will probably sell more than Xenoblade X regardless of quality.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Fact: SO3 reached a million worldwide and was a Greatest Hits selection (meaning it did over 500k in the U.S.).
The faces look better than Xenoblade X's at least
I love the main girls look, she looks a bit sheepish
All I see are a few posts mentioning another upcoming JRPG's awful character models, nothing more.No. Edit as well on my poor typing haha.
What I mean is Xenoblade is only available to those who own a Wii U while those who own a PS4, the install base is already amazing for Star Ocean 5 and the PS4 in North America. There's also still a PS3 audience (obviously, consider Star Ocean 5 isn't next gen only). That should say that there is a large enough market.
I think both games are amazing. I'm excited for both. People are going to try to make this another Xenoblade Vs FFXV thread and they really shouldn't.
Hot damn those characters look awful. It's like they either look all at once "too familiar" or just have dumb outfits/apparent personalities
I wasn't a serious contender to buy this game, but I'm losing motivation even more
Yes... because the faces of characters make a game...
Yuck. Who asked for this?
I love the main girls look, she looks a bit sheepish, but i absolutely like that. dont worry guys, there will be plenty of other girl models in the game for you to argue about and call 'waifu'
Gotta take note, tri-Ace is probably the only other Japanese company to do realistic looking JRPGs with high quality graphics (nevermind the faces), the first and other one being Square Enix's FF teams. Y'all better support tri-Ace guys.
You gotta admit, even if Star Ocean 4 looked a bit muddy and characters looked dumb, a lot of the environments still looked great and realistic.
Edit: forgot that there's Monolithsoft too.

It seems to me that something is very wrong with heroines face too, like it's unfinished or something.
What if the female protagonist turns out to be a re-animated doll or sentient homonculus? That would make sense right.
Throw me in with camp "what's wrong with her face?" Eyes are oddly shaped and placed weird, and she's got almost no nose. As someone else said, she looks like one of those anime girl body suit things people wear. I'm drawing a blank on the word but if you've seen it you know what I'm talking about.
Can we get some facial expressions this time?
Insert The Order jokeWhat is that bar shaped thing floating in front of her?

Dual audio plz(or japanese only). With the budget for this game, getting good english VA is something i don't see
Then again, Drakengard 3 could get decent VA even though it didnt even have a budget so....
Japanese game. Pages and pages of people complaining that it doesn't appeal to their western aesthetics. Rinse and repeat.

I completely disagree with this. I play predominantly Japanese games. I watch anime. Heck sometimes I even read manga as well. So many of those I've quite liked the artsyle and character deaign I've been presented with. In fact by and large I far prefer Japanese character design over their western counterparts.Japanese game. None of that changes my belief that in my eyes the main female looks awful. Nothing to do with it not matching my western aesthetics. Am I negative about the game as a whole? No. I'm actually pleasantly surprised and excited. But at the moment we don't have a lot to go off so I will analyse and judge whatever I see, be it in a positive or negative light. Just because I'm excited about something doesn't mean I have to like everything about it
