E3 2015 Predictions & Discussion thread

I think there's a possibility Sony may have "too much" to show...resulting in them holding some stuff back.

My ideal scenario would be reveals/trailers of:

-The Last Guardian (i really think this is happening)
-God of War 4
-Guirrella Games Robot Dinos New IP
-Quantic Dreams next game
-Uncharted 4
-No Man's Sky

I think between GoW4, GG New IP, and Quantic Dream game its likely 2/3 gets cut from the show.

- God of War 4 will be at this years PlayStation Experience, imo.
(According to some SSM folks at twitter)
- Next big E3 game for Sony will be Media Molecule's game
- Quantic Dream should be ready, but I guess they will show their game at the Paris event
- Guerrilla Games' RPG should be ready
- Sony Bend's game should be ready
- SCE Japan Studio should be ready
- The rest will be 3rd Party stuff / from independent studios (not owned by Sony).
All the other Sony studios aren't ready yet to show anything new.

Anyone remember the Tarsier game Hunger? That game got its official (and rather unceremonious) reveal a few months ago in the form of a trailer, and since then we haven't heard a peep. You'd think Sony would've made a bigger deal out of that game since it's PS4 exclusive and looks like it's got a hefty budget behind it for a retail-only release. Would've made for a great E3 announcement.

I would be happy to at least see more gameplay videos with release dates in conferences than teaser trailers (ugh) with 2016 or 2017 as a release "window".

For games news, I'm confident we'll see Uncharted 4 gameplay and a Star Fox demo with release date. I hope we'll have a lot more details about The Witness, The Division and Mirror's Edge 2.

Regarding games I think won't be here but would make such a good surprise for me: RDR sequel, TLG, F-Zero or Metroid would be awesome.

Now in a parallel universe maybe they'll have a Zack & Wiki or a Viewtiful Joe like game (W101 is here but it's not the same game even if it has the same spirit... VJ mechanics are completely different and both games could co exist). Oh and in this parallel universe they're already playing Shenmue 3 of course.

We don't know if it's PS4 exclusive. The game is not funded by Sony and it's coming to PC.

PS3 SKU has to be Persona 5 now open for pre-orders :D

I already have Persona 5 pre-ordered at Best Buy, so I wonder if there would be a need to list it as a dummy SKU, or if that's necessary since it's no longer listed on the website.

Edit: Then again, that's in Canada, and I don't know if we share the same SKU numbers. It could totally be Persona 5.

Do you really think they'll announce Beyond remaster in E3? C'mon Sony isn't that dumb.

That would be ace, absolutely my kind of game. I loved the visuals, setting and atmo of the game.
Make a 3-pack with Hunger, Abzu and The Tomorrow Children and I don't mind about AAA.

Does anyone else get the feeling Sony is being deliberately quiet to drop the BOMBs? I cannot stand the silence...

I'll say this though, the pregame hype goes completely to Microsoft. Sony needs to bring it come E3. I understand it won't affect sales, but E3 is like the Superbowl for me.

this is prediction thread right ? i confirmed nothing nor do i know something about this, i was just asking.

OK then, my bad. And yes, it would be great.

All what we know, 3 notable reveals from SCE this E3.

So what one game getting announced and/or shown would make this one of the best E3s in a while for each of you?

Beyond Good & Evil 2
Or short of that, The Last Guardian I would say.

Fallout 4 could be a contender, but since we kinda already know we are getting this, I need to set my expectations higher to be properly disappointed ^^

Without putting a dampner on things and without mentioning the obvious game they could show, I don't really see how Sony are in the position to drop bombs this year unless they have something ridiculous.

Uncharted 4 - delayed until next year so the most we can hope for is a beta (doubtful) or a story/character trailer.

Ratchet & Clank - delayed, most we can hope is some in-game gameplay.

Street Fighter V - most we can hope for is a new fighter match-up trailer.

Then everything else (horizon, sony bend etc.) would have to be announced at E3 WITH gameplay to get anyone reasonably excited.

There's always Bloodborne DLC but we'll have to see.

I really need to repeat this. This is standard Sony.

E3, Gamescom, Pre-TGS. It's the same pattern over and over. Sony rarely ever hypes their events. We get 5 tweets from 5 different Sony employees, and an interview with Shuhei. That's the extent of any hype, and unlike Spencer, Shu doesn't 'tease' any announcements from any studios. Just look at Mark Healey from MM. He got into trouble for teasing their next project way too much. Or how Barlog got put on media-silence for acknowledging the next God of War.

The one and only person in WWS who can get away with blabbering his mouth about their next project is Kazunori Yamauchi.

The only time they've ever hyped up an event, it was PSX (and that was to sell tickets), and the PS4 February Event, because no-shit, it was a one-in-blue-moon console reveal event.

I am still more hyped for Sony. I don't see much in the way of surprises from Microsoft. 99% I feel has already been revealed or leaked and just gameplay segments will take up the 90 minutes.

The silence is uncharacteristic of Sony (or MS for that matter). My guess is the leaks from the last few years have actioned things to be much more airtight.

MS has always won the pre-game hype every year.

In 2013, they talked about 'killing Sony.' In 2014, you can't go on Phil Spencer's twitter without hearing him talk about E3 plans, and his interviews teased 'amazing Japanese developer! More at E3" or "soulful game to reveal at E3!" (Scalebound & Ori) And if I'm not wrong, he even teased stuff like interest in reviving old IPs and such.

This year, Spencer is more 'quiet', but he still teased 'new IP reveal' and Rare teased their next project for E3 reveal. And Gears talk. And how simply showing gameplay of the 2 CGi trailer announcements last year ( Crackdown & Scalebound ) alone would be good.

You are way too bothered by MS's bravado, and make assumptions of how Sony's lack of response to it is somehow supposed to mean something.

No it isn't.

People have short term memories on this thing.

I like how people are 'down' on Nintendo's showcase this year again, even though Nintendo delivers good Directs on random months with reveals that could've been saved for E3 (Fire Emblem, FExSMT), and how Nintendo proved pessimist wrong last year by showing that they truly have games in development that GASP! THEY DIDN'T ANNOUNCE IT 2 YEARS BEFORE RELEASE!?

I think there's some confusion right now about what platforms it's appearing on. I remember now that they did mention PC some time ago, but I checked Tarsier's twitter page based on what John Bender just told me, and they retweeted this...

Maybe it's just misinformation on OSP's part.

The Tomorrow Children does nothing for me, based on what I've seen. The other two however, hells yes. Replace TTC with Rime and that's a triple pack I could get behind.

We will hear more about it tomorrow :)

Ha, what a coincidence. I had no idea.

Holy shit that's the first I heard of this game, it looks great.

Yeah it does. It looks like LBP for kids who want to be terrified and given nightmares, only to look back on their time with the game ten years later with much fondness and nostalgia. Because let's face it, we all have those things that we saw when we were children that fucked us up, yet we're grateful for it. Poltergeist and the hatching scene in Gremlins spring to mind.

It's not PS4 exclusive, Tarsier are self-publishing it. Their exclusive contract with Sony must've been for Tearaway Unfolded.

I know this place doesn't have a huge Killzone following, so it might not matter to many that Guerrilla Cambridge has been pretty quiet since Mercenary in 2013. I feel like they may be taking the steering wheel on that franchise and announce it at E3 for a surprise autumn release.

Of course, that's just wild speculation from someone who really enjoyed SF's multiplayer and felt Mercenary had a few moments that felt as great as Killzone 2's. For most, it'll probably be a disappointment, just like the LBP3 and Ratchet announcements were to them last year.

My personal pessimism on this is that Cambridge, being a small team, a PS4 Killzone is probably going to take more than just 24 months of development time for them.

Sure, there's a huge foundation and asset base to work from with Shadowfall, but I do think they're aware of SF's flaws and may need to tweak that foundation a bit.

Rime. Packed that deep in my back head. Now my counter is on 4.
Tomorrow children gameplay is completely unclear, don't even know if it's fun. But the artstyle wowed me.

It's not that I'm bothered, but Sony has an army of developers that are unknown quantities at this point. This is E3 and MS is not bluffing this year. Every major first party IP they own is coming to the dance. This show has the potential to be amazing, for both Sony and MS.

No shit.

Sony's 'army' is silenced by their own generals, unlike MS's.

Once again, completely different approaches. Sony has always practiced diligent pre-E3 media silence, MS is loud and confident. Nintendo's E3 worksmanship show the most care and effort, yet people are eternally sceptical because LOLNOLIVECONFERENCE.

Not sure if you read any of my post.

I said "the obvious game", that was TLG. Is that really a safe bet?

Secondly, all I was talking about was the autumn, hence my intrepidation. I mentioned good games that were coming out next year so I know the future of the platform is good.

I'll try and reiterate but legitimate bombs for this E3 will have to be games we haven't heard about yet that are dropping this year. Obviously, this COULD include TLG or GT7 but forgive me for thinking thats optimistic. I'm not the "Sony has no games", they have some incredibly strong looking games on the horizon, just not for this winter it seems yet.
