Not necessarily, Europe has had Tuesday releases before. I'm sure either Grim Fandango or Resident Evil HD earlier this year did it as I remember being pleasantly surprised.

I've been out of the fight scene for a while and was looking at some retail fight sticks... my gawd when did they get so damn $$$ for plastic o_O damn, I'm tempted to buy some custom parts and gut a ds4 as the input device and make my own.

Around the time they stopped putting crap parts in them and made the cases sizes normal people would want to use.

So the madcatz ones are good quality? And wired (real wired transmission not just powering bluetooth) kinda thing? I know hori makes good sticks /shrug

The stick is digital so wiring direct to a d-pad is easy, as are the buttons. I guess my idea's main downfall is the wireless lag (doubt I'd notice outside of tournament play) and it being battery operated right?

Ehh... Doing DIY stick will probably cost the same as buying one. Atleast if you use quality parts.

Ya true, in Canada the ds4 is like $90 alone with taxes, good stick and buttons from hori would cost me another 50-100, the box/lexan/wiring is another $20-30. Hrm, so with that being said are the newer madcatz ones on par with the hori sticks?

So far all the retailers have brutal pricing, I'd prolly need to import possibly right from Japan it seems =/

MC sticks are good. Bunch of people use them and many pro players also.

My Hori Kai shipped last Friday and should get here this Friday, which is the same day I will purchase this. The long journey of unlearning most fighters on pad for stick is nigh.

Yeah the madcatz sticks are good, basically the unnofficial tournament standard. If you are going to try to make your own: do it because you want to. Between parts and labor I would be amazed if you broke even on it and it worked as well as a TE.

Madcatz TE2 is a great stick. I've got two. High quality build, great parts, easy to mod.

Horis for ps4 are a smaller and with their own parts, but just as good for the price.

And yeah, Completely wired.

Awesome thanks for the input guys, I'll have to price shop for a MC stick, it's pretty cool to hear that things have drastically improved in quality for fight sticks.

I also agree I'd have to be willing to spend the same or more to build my own, and with the true wired aspect that would kill my budget build (using a ds4 as the mainboard). Might as well go pre-made =)

The MadCatz TE2 are the best out there as far as PS4 sticks go (that also work on PS3). Though good luck getting your hands on one.

If you do end up building your own stick, FocusAttack has a lot of the tools you may need (buttons, sticks, wires, etc.). Though a PS4/PS3 PCB won't be easy to come by, & the only PCB they have on their site shuts off every 8 minutes.

Here's hoping the money is going directly towards the funding of Street Fighter V and not towards hooker and booze.

Can't wait to try this out.

You can think of it that way since SCE got the rights and a different studio to port it for Capcom. And SCE is paying for SFV after all.

Yeah lol the price is pretty awesome too, but but sold out everywhere I've checked so far >_<

You could always go for Plan B. Buy one of the Hori sticks & replace the Kuro buttons with Sanwa buttons (they're the same size, so the Kuro buttons should be easy to replace).

Just fyi, if you do want to do a padhack, which I totally respect, the hori fight commander 4 is a lot easier to do than the ds4, and it's wired.

Thats true, so that button swap would work on the hori rap4 kai? It would look badass with blue buttons.

Remote at works pretty well. The dpad could be better though.

Good point on the wired hack, hrm lots of choices now. It will all boil down to availability it seems =/ I wish I asked/saw all this sooner haha, it would make it much easier to source things out.

Yup, someone even made a video that'll walk you through it. It's just a simple means of unplugging the button, popping it out, & replacing the button with a Sanwa one. So yeah, you can accomplish your dream of giving the stick blue buttons.

Omg so good! That's excellent thanks so much! At least now I have a few great options if I can't locate one or the other. I really appreciate the help.

I'm so excited to play again, it's been years since I've had a SF game.

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag
Don't get the wireless fightpads. Look for the wired Street Fighter X Tekken versions...they are by far the best fightpads that Mad Catz put out.

So wireless fightpads work? The Hori Tekken 6 one as well?

Instead of purchasing a madcatz stick for my ps4 (own 4 for xb360) I decided to pick up a cheap Venom ps4 stick and stick a hayabusa with some sanwas in there. £60, bargain.

Maybe this time the game will click with me. I bought this on 360/PS3 and couldn't even beat arcade mode. The inputs are so strict :(

I'm up ultra early and I had dreams about the damn game. The hype is real, and I don't know why. I've owned every iteration of SFIV on every platform. I let my XBL sub run out a few months ago in anticipation of this, and recently sold my 360 because I only used it for SFIV. I've played this game so much, yet I still can't wait to play it on PS4. It's going to be a long day.

Not kidding about the hype. The wait is killing me!!

The inputs are super loose on SF4, you can tap down-forward twice then punch to get a Dragon Punch instead of the regular motion.

I had that problem with vanilla SF4. Got a bit better and know some stuff now, cant wait to buy my first Street Fighter game since SF2 on Gameboy.
Please Sony, let me buy it now ;__;

I know the buttons are plug and play, but isn't the stick a soldering job? If it isn't I'm going to be all over this...
