It's probably a smaller title published by a third party. It definitely isn't going to be a first-party project to be announced on an IGN show by themselves.

So since Nintendo has 2 platinum exclusives and Microsoft has 1 I'm guessing it's Sony's turn next. Whatever it is I'm sure it'll be cool.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
This'll be another Nintendo fuckfest where their E3 Direct is long and monotonous and full of games we already know about having their features re-explained with little-to-no teasing of new titles or even big announced titles we just want to hear more on.

I hope it isn't Rising 2, unless they actually make it good this time. I stopped playing that game after beating Monsoon. It had been a snorefest for half the time before that. Annoying mechanics, samey combat, drab visuals, generic electronic buzz music, repetitive whiny story, etc. I don't get the love at all. So far below other Platinum games.

It was bad enough they released it two days before GTA V (in North America at least), but the complete lack of promotion. They shouldn't have been surprised the game sold what it did.

I'd wager there's 0.01% chance of MGS Rising 2 ever coming out in the next few years with the state Konami's in. I'd go with a DMC game from Platinum.

Platinum making their fans buy all three next gen consoles. Doesn't sound like a bad plan actually.

The gameplay systems were competent. If expanded, with a bump in graphics and more freedom, it could be a very interesting and unique title.
They made the first in a very short span and for multiple platforms.Systems in place, more time and less platforms could do wonders for a sequel.
And I had fun with it. It wasn't mind blowing, but fiddling with the different elements was nice, having dodge and block as viable defensive options was a lot of fun, the challenge was typical Platinum, and the items allowed for varied gameplay styles. Heck, even the mini game was fun, if somewhat repetitive. It was worth getting to the end of the championship.
I would put it above many games I've played on the PS4, actually.
