Cel-Shaded Brawler Transformers Devastation Leaked

pretty much what im thinking, people are thinking "Rising and Bayonetta" and im thinking "Korra"

Sadly this is a more likely scenario. Which is a shame because I would love a G1 Transformers game with the kind of explosive set pieces the bigger budget Platinum games have. Heck, TW101's final boss
is basically Unicron

Wow, that looks pretty awesome! If it was by Platinum, what a surprise it would be and that basically means the combat is gonna be f'in awesome!

Everyone is jumping to platinum but to me it looks like a musou game

Transformers Musou?

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
Transformers Musou?

I dunno, nothing about the leaked shots scream "large scale battles", which I assume they'd want to if it were a musou.

Look almost exactly like a scene from Revengeance. Enemy types and everything.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I think this is Platinum

Would it hurt if they toned down the shinyness a little bit? It looks great but they don't need to look like they are polished to a mirror finish.

Not enough cel shaded games out there, I love that look.

I hope this is good, and I hope it's not exclusive. I need a good transformers game!

What was wrong with Korra? Combat mechanics were great, the overall level design isn't that much a problem in games like this where you're going from A to B, the combat and animations would be king and those were both great in LoK.

I wouldn't call the combat great. It's pretty much "Platinum light"... And it ends up being too simple for my tastes. You also don't have a large variety of enemies (and they aren't particularly exciting to begin with), the pacing is uneven, the story is extremely forgettable and the level design just screams "budget". The Naga parts are downright terrible too (and you have a couple of them).

I played through it once and was completely done with it. This never happened with any other Platinum game I played (and I played most of them — apart from Anarchy Reigns, MadWorld and Infinite Space). I love all their other games to varying degrees (8-9.5/10 if I were to quantify "loving"), but this game is just... not very good (5 or 6/10).

I was excited for that game before it came out and bought it day 1 but it was a real disappointment.

That slash arc reminds me of the Murasama's slash arc in MGR, too.

Also, is that bot in the background friend or foe? The red and white one.

Looks good.

But I wanted my true Fall of Cybertron sequel.
Stupid Activision forcing high moon to work on shitty COD sequels.

This being a Platinum Games project is plausible given Activision published The Legend of Korra. Also that team would need another project presumably.

What? War for Cybertron certainly didn't suck.

Except for the terribly repetitive gameplay and boring levels yeah. It was fantastic. It's almost like it reviewed as well as it did simply because it wasn't as bad as all of the other previous Transformer games. Not because it was good.

Ever play any of the Armored Core games?

there's bound to be a ton of trash mobs in between the interesting set pieces, that's just how brawlers work.

Aye I know, just a shame they couldn't piecemeal them together with some randomised parts, just to mix up the individual models.

I'm nitpicking of course. I just love Transformers. ;)

I thought for sure Activision was going to axe their Transformers licence at the end of the year after they relegated High Moon Studios to the COD prison camp of development and the latest Transformers game dropped.

The problem with Activision licence games is they tend to just phantom drop their ownership when the property doesn't suit them anymore, then the games permanently disappear from digital storefront.

Just a word of advice, I would recommend picking this up before January 1st 2016.

This is most likely the Platinum game - in that case, I'm looking forward to it. They could make these games really fun.
