Game is perfect as it was.

The game's only issue for me was that it was released during the beginning of a paradigm shift from sprites -> 3D. The game looks ugly as a result. The rest of the game should be kept exactly the same. If they are going to revisit that world in 3D they should do so in VII-2 or something along that vein.

Man it is just hard to not get excited for this. HD backgrounds and high poly models with good textures is all I require. Don't need to re-do everything in polys for me to be happy. Also, and this is important, music has to be on point.

I think FF7 and Sony usually go together because that is where the biggest FF audience is. With that said if it is a full blown remake I could see it being a multiplat.

Of course it could be some weird-ass enhanced version adding things similiar to the mods from the PC version.

Can't give my word on the crazy Shenmue rumours but the FF VII remake is a real thing. They started production a few months ago and it will be announced this week for a 2017 release.

The Last Guardian is coming back too, Sony PR guys are giving appointments to the press and they plan to release it during the holiday season since Uncharted 4 is delayed until 2016.

If Sony reveals a real Final Fantasy VII remake tonight for the PS4, and not that "classic FFVII" troll release from last year, people will lose it. That might just happen, according to multiple sources.

This morning Siliconera leaked that the project was happening, and this afternoon, GamesBeat has stated that it will be announced later today -- I am hearing that it will be developed by CyberConnect2. Allegedly, this project will feature Cloud's newer look from Advent Children, and will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII.
