What I need to know is how the sculptures translate into gameplay. The sculpting tech looks gorgeous, but I wonder how it turns into gameplay.

They delayed showing gameplay/demo until Paris Show right?

You can't delay something that your public never knew was coming. It came as a surprise honestly, I didn't think we were going to see anything from them here.

It looked beautiful, I hope it plays awesome.

lovely art style but what the f*ck is this.. i'm always a little worried when we see something that looks like a dev wanking with metaphysical concepts and nobody able to explain what you do in the game..

I agree. This reveal required some imagination but if we can actually control these different creatures in different worlds, this could be the greatest thing ever. In any case, I trust that Media Molecule knows what they are doing since they have never failed me.

I was so sure this was going to be a Morpheus title. Everything about it seemed to line up.

It looks interesting but I still don't think I'm talented enough to make anything cool like we saw tonight.

This isn't really my kind of game but I am super excited to see all the amazing things that people will create.

This looked stunning. Even if it's just a really amazing next-gen Mario Paint it's still impressive. Can't wait to see the things people make with it.

As with most creation based games, two things will probably happen with the initial batch of creations:

1. There will be recreations of other games, more than likely of Mario and Sonic.
2. There will be creations of suggestive content.

I'm looking forward to seeing how far the second one can be pushed.

It's going to be an experience where you control a sequence of events. Think quantic dream but trippy. Interactive user created experiences.

You can't really call them movies because by its very nature it's going to be surreal. Dreams generally don't have narrative archs, they're disjointed and unfamiliar whilst presenting elements of our own reality which couldn't be further from reality itself.

It's an anomaly..and I kinda like that.

*create everything you want*

*realize you don't want none of that shit*

*bang your head on the table*

Jokes aside, I don't have a clue on what this thing (not a game, so a "thing") is about. The only thing I cancome up with is that "drawing" 3D models with fucking gyro controls on the DS4 is not exciting in the slightest.

Yes, this is actually a big concern of mine. This doesn't look like it has the potential to be a game at all. I thought Tearaway was a step in the right direction for the studio, but now I'm just unsure.

The problem with their philosophy and approach here, which I could be wrong about, is that unlike something like Minecraft where it's easy to tinker and create, this seems pretty daunting to make something good. And even then, can you explore it?

I'm unconvinced.

I feel like knowing this is the studio that made LBP helps to understand what this game is much better. There are things you play, things you experience, and things maybe you just watch and listen. LBP has all 3, some levels were literally songs or story telling. This looks to be blending all of those things in a much better way where one second you could be listen and watching music being played and in the next playing a getaway chase then on the next be a bear in the cold with a cub and the next slaying zombies. Or maybe some dreams are entirely one thing or the other, ultimately MM is giving people tools to make their dreams. If they want that to be a romp in the snow or a zombie killing dream or a combination of the two then so be it.

Not a game but a toybox. It looks cool, and the committed can make some cool stuff for sure, but I look at it i think, I don't have the time to dedicate to make something cool.

I almost feel like they are going for a WarioWare thing were you go through different dreams in a short sequence that end up colliding with each other for crazy results. Basically you build a piece of the game puzzle, but the interaction of those pieces results in something cooler in the end. That's how I interpret things anyway.

I guess on a scale from 1 to 10 it came off as abstract art to me lol um the bears were cute? I guess that counts for something right?!

Incredibly Naive
My biggest disappointment of an otherwise perfect show. Mm is so damn talented, why are they making this, is a guaranteed flop.

Also like LBP I think it goes without saying there will be a single player campaign. They will serve as both an enjoyable playthrough for the non creatives (like me) and inspiration for the creatives.

The art style is insanely good, my fav kind with the stop motion/claymation style. That alone has me interested. Fun and relaxing game in between all the gung-ho experiences. LBP was cool but this seems so much more by visuals alone, it has an incredible identity.

I have a feeling the creative people are going to make some mind bending stuff on this. My only fear is marketability. LBP had sackboy, and I don't know if it has a story or recognizable MC. MM needs to demo this game in many places to get people interested. I'm obviously there day, they the most creative dev from Sony's studios. I hope this sells well!!!

People are saying are confused. The guy on stage said every person for four years has said the same thing but get around to it. I hope that happens.

The polar bear looked cool but man, these create-your-own-game things just isn't for me. Seems like a waste of talent at MM.
Well you don't have to make it. You can play other people's games. I'd imagine the best levels will come a month or two after the game is out when everyone is getting used to it. That is my experience with LBP2. Took so long to make Devil May Cry level, found out I can't use DMC3 music and ran online to play other people's levels.

I don't understand why people don't get what this is. It's a 3d lbp, creating levels to play in a 3d sculpted world. I'm positive. It's incredible. No boundaries. Limitless potential here. Actually looks fun to create, unlIke lbp which could be quite the chore.

It is a creation platform where you can create anything you want. You want to create a musical peformance? You can! Want to make a movie? You can! Want to make a game? You can! Want to watch or play what someone else has created? You can.

If you dont want to create your own stuff, you can download other people's creations and use them. You can share your creations with others, they can use parts of your creations in their creations.

Just think the next progression of LBP without as many restrictions and completely open ended. However, I am anticipating this game being a 2017 game for sure. This is a very ambitious project and will take a lot of time.

You're on some hard drugs.

It looks like a movie making game. We'll watch it tank together.
It amazingly stylish though.

LBP was a game based around core mechanics and physical interactivity.

Nothing here looks interactive or grounded in any sort of mechanics.

That's worrisome.

Yea I doubt it'll become huge (hopefully I'm wrong) but you gotta admit it totally fits what MM is all about. It's always great to see devs having the creative freedom to make a game they want.

I'm mildly interested in this. Looks like a movie-maker with maybe a hint of 'game' aka interactivity tied in

Maybe I'm too excited, if it's movies only I'm definitely out. They need to clarify. I need to watch again.

If there's no actual game to be played around the create mode, they've made a big mistake...but people didn't think lbp was going to be nearly as ambitious in 2008 either!

Edit-Stampy is right, they have outright said you can create games with it.
