It's actually not that uncommon to see KS court only PC and Sony. Xbox One is probably one of the rarer platforms to see be included in a KS.

Not to dismiss people suggesting it's because Sony is helping fund it, but there's more than just that as precedent for kickstarters to ignore the platform.

The game is nearing 1mil ($990,000 to be exact), hopefully this will show Sony and Sega how much we want this series so they'll back it. I want a physical copy of this for my PS4 lol.

Maybe there are no physical copies for the PS4 in the kickstarter because of some kind of agreement, maybe the money from the physical copies goes to a different place than the money in the kickstarter. I doubt the game is only going to be released digital on PS4.

Should give us Shenmue 1 and 2 regular ports for $20, or HD ports for $60.

Doesn't look like it's gonna have trouble reaching its goal though, but I think it would help the PS base to have the chance to play 1 and 2 before this.

All us classic Sega fans appreciate those people throwing in money that haven't even played Shenmue 1&2. It's definitely a different type of game that might not have the same broad appeal as Call of Duty but everyone should experience playing these unique games. If you are even a little bit tired of the same old yearly releases give Shenmue a shot you won't regret it. There's just nothing else like it.

You ever see that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, Turtles Forever? Where the 2003 TMNT meet up with the 87 TMNT? And at the end, they travel to the original universe and meet the comic versions of the TMNT, and all TMNT stems from them, and they're the most badass of all?

Modern gaming is the 2003 and 1987 TMNT teams, and Shenmue is the comic book TMNT.

This game will not be the scope of the first two. There is no way they can hope to sell enough copies to exceed that budget. I think sometimes Gaf needs to slow down the hype train and think realistically about things.

Why not? The first game's scope wasn't even that insane in today's terms. It was a series that was VASTLY ahead of its time. Having UE4 alone cuts their costs a ton I'm sure.
