Anymore reaction videos out there? Might have missed some. The gametrailers one was gold.
I wouldn't mind ff xv style combat or even witcher 3 combat. The only problem would be is how to control all the characters.

Game is destined to spark huge controversies and a shitstorm of angry people.
Makes sense. FFXV for 2016. FF7R for 2017. FFXVI for 2018.I assume they're aiming for 2017 to coincide with the 20th anniversary, not that I trust Nomura in that regard
Also classic combat pls
I am hoping the graphics get a huge upgraded obviously but as far as gameplay they start as true to the original core
Materia system must stay
Random encounters can stay
I'd like it to stay turn-based as well
Would like some additional side quests and what not
New "Weapon" enemies
New materia would be kinda cool
What an awful idea.
No random encounters? Open world? Scenario rewritten? Different battle system?
They have XV for the new generation, this is a remake of a classic, they can't completely change it, it defeats the point.
Way too optimistic.Makes sense. FFXV for 2016. FF7R for 2017. FFXVI for 2018.
Square Enix have been aiming to annualize this series for awhile.
If that's the case then they should call it FFXVI. At some point if they adopt all proposed changes it stops being FF7.
Maybe we'll get a tiny smidge more updates at the SE conference later? after everything that has happened, I'm now a believer.Oh man not a single gameplay screenshot. That's harsh.
That is SE's press release. It only mentions PS4. So right now it's a PS4 exclusive. Sales of xbone and FF15 (global and in Japan) will decide if there is even a chance for porting. I'm sceptical because of Type-0s abysmal sales on the bone. The audience for FF games is simply not there. If they didn't think it was coming to Xbox, they would have said console exclusive.
They didn't, at all. That makes me fairly certain that it's not exclusive, just timed release.
SQUARE ENIX ANNOUNCES FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE
LOS ANGELES (June 15, 2015) – At Sony Computer Entertainment of America LLC’s (SCEA) E3 press conference today, SQUARE ENIX® announced that it has begun production on the full remake of FINAL FANTASY® VII for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system.
Leading the development will be key members from the original project, including producer Yoshinori Kitase, director Tetsuya Nomura and scenario writer Kazushige Nojima.
First released in 1997 on the PlayStation® computer entertainment system, FINAL FANTASY VII is universally regarded as a hallmark title of the RPG genre. The original title received high praise for its epic storyline, unique characters, and movie sequences that utilized the most cutting-edge technology of the time. Since then, the game has sold over 11 million copies worldwide and continues to receive widespread acclaim from critics and fans around the world. The popular game has even expanded into spin-offs, films, and merchandise.
More updates on this project will be revealed at a later time.
Another thing. Will they make new prerendered backgrounds, or just 3D the whole thing? Interesting to think about.

If they make the combat significantly changed (like FFXV or Witcher etc.) then they have fucked up

Cannot wait for the SE conference, hopefully we'll get plenty more info on this and maybe a ff12 hd right? Right? I mean everything else is happening this e3.

This whole thing stinks of Tomb Raider.
Stop being Microsoft and clarify what you mean.
Wat?When I heard remake, I'm thinking about a total new experience. It means change in gameplay and story. It will not be the same game

Yeah but giving mainline FF to a completely new person seems risky. They gave Tabata control after 3 successful handheld entries. I can't think of anyone else with at least that kind of experience. There are a lot of people, with or without directorial experience, who could potentially develop FFXVI. Ito is just the most seasoned and obvious person for the job.
Don't do that man. With the way things are going, everything we say seems to come true. D:There is always Motomu Toriyama
Seriously, everyone who wants the battle system changed doesn't even want FF7 anymore. Just a Modern FF game with Ff7s story. I will be highly disappointed if they do not have the exact same turn based battle system. Don't mess with the battle system.
You're right, the onus isn't on Sony.First on Playstation?
Pretty clear, you can get other platforms at some point.
Similar how MS/Sony call their DLC exclusive "First on Xbox/PS"

From what Kagari said, I wouldn't expect a X1 versionit is PC/PS4 or PC/PS4/Xbox One ?
