Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Gameplay (E3 2015)

I really hope the second part of the demo isn't shown to the general public. No need. The hype machine is already there. In fact, I hope they don't really show off much of the single player anymore until final release, and even then just a teaser trailer.

When UC is next shown, they need to start talking about the MP more. I was half expecting it at this E3 since there were some tweets about internal playtesting, but I guess they wanted to focus on the SP.

Truth is we've gotten 2 pretty decent gameplay sequences shown and I don't think a 3rd is truly necessary. I'm a little upset that they revealed this sequence since it seems to be one of the bigger set pieces of any Uncharted game, on par with the train sequence.

I'm not one to care about set pieces being spoiled for me or any of that but at this point I know the game is going to be great and they have shown two distinct gameplay videos. One was from PSX which showed the minute to minute gameplay whereas this week ND also showed this game has the crazy set piece stuff in. At this point, I want to see MP including its scope and also what kind of co-op is going to be present. They've had a few opportunities at MP now, it's time they go big with this aspect of the game.

Of course not - that's why they're core stuff. All the cinematic animations would be bespoke and likely never seen in gameplay.
That is so much for a non open world game. Drake will be the best animated human character in a game ever.

Is it strange that we still don't have a release date besides '2016'?
They didnt even write 'early' or spring/summer, seems like the games a bit farther away than expected.

Nope. Not strange at all. Naughty Dog has stated something like they aren't looking at ever doing a crunch time like they did on Uncharted 3 again. One way to avoid that is to avoid a fixed release date too far out.

I think I read Sony expects the game out out before the Fiscal Year ends, which, if I'm not mistaken, is March 31st, 2016. I have a feeling they will not hit that. I could see it being a June game like TLOU was.

Edit- Yup. A quick search, yielded me this: http://www.gamesradar.com/uncharted-4-release-date/

I could see it getting pushed to December actually.

Edit... maybe I'm wrong.

I think the move to push it back was not so much a technical one, but rather a market saturation one.

They have a lot of third party partnerships this holiday, and I am sure they did not want to cannibalize on any of that.

It also gives them a little more time to polish the game up. Then it launches where it does not have to compete really against anything else. It is a win/win.

This strategy they have been doing has been paying off big time for them and their first party/third party relations and sales.

Don't want to watch the second part? Don't. Some of us would like to see it and Sony should release it.

Looks fantastic. The banter was funny, especially the part where Sully asks, Did they send enough goons after? Nate's answer was hilarious to me.

For those guys and gals who jumped over to ps4 from xbox360 are in for a treat with the remaster coming for the previous games then Uncharted 4. I envy those who never played 2. That train sequence....

But because of the nature of Uncharted, sometimes doing that literally caused bugs or game breaking stuff to emerge. Once I fell through the level in U3 and couldn't get back out. Once while searching for treasure in U2, I jumped down to a roof literally only a few feet down that I apparently wasn't supposed to go to and the game automatically killed me. Once I walked over a puddle and Drake's body went limp and died.

Funny, never had anything like that happen to me... maybe i'm just THAT lucky!!!

I even took pictures of some of the bugs I had to post them in the OTs because nobody was believing me at the time :p

For example:

Well, can't argue against that!

that one annoyed me the most because it was during one of them dumb sections where you're not supposed to be seen and i had taken out most of the guys and then was starting to search the area for treasure when BAM! Then I had to reset the game to a previous point and do it all over :(

I seem to recall a conversation with you regarding his procedural animations against Arno from Unity. Seems to me, ND has definitely lived up to expectations.
Because that is an insane workload for this kinda game. And part of it is procedural. That means that there is a ton of variation on each action.

They did mention that they were very memory constrained animation-wise on the PS3, and that they've made a huge amount of animations to avoid stuff like "magic position sync sliding" in melee combat.

That was one of my biggest problems with TLOU actually. It stuck out in what was otherwise a beautifully animated game.

i just felt uncomfortable for the first time with the amount of people being killed. more realistic the game gets it is getting kinda unsettling.

That's a great Easter Egg.

Shouldn't it be Elena Drake?
please say she kept her surname, hopefully no divorce
