I played 70 hours of The WItcher 3 on my 2gig 680 with textures on ULTRA without dropping a single frame from locked 30fps and even reaching 45fps in most areas if unlocked. Almost every other setting on Ultra too.

this is how those look

this is what Rocksteady says I should aim for in terms of textures with this same card for not even stable 25fps

Alas, my convictions aren't as strong as yours. If it was a series I didn't give a fuck about, I'd be all for it, but Batman... I can't wait that long to play this, especially not after playing a couple hours of it already.

Same boat, I might cave and get a PS4 copy tomorrow. Such a shame, I considered WB one of the better pubs up until this year, the MK X micro transactions and shit PC job really took them down a few places in my book. Even though I got this with my card it still factored into my decision in buying a 970, not blaming Nvidia or Iron Galaxy, but I feel that Rocksteady and WB need to reevaluate how they treat their PC customers. Asylum was delayed on PC, City DX11 was a mess, I sensed a shitstorm when that pre-load was so late on this one.

There will be one up within 48 hours for sure. A lot of those videos seem to get made about PC gaming issues.

Boy I'm glad I got this for free with my video card. I also have a ps4 version that I preordered prior coming in the mail but I'll be sure to return that as soon as possible. Between these pc ports and dlc shenanigans with their past few games, I think I'm done with games from WB for a while.

I bought a 970 because it came with this game and The Witcher. I feel like I should get a portion of my money back, just so I don't have to pay them for this nonsense.

their answer (that btw took like 20 hours from the previous one) of basically "check the settings" would still be hilarious even if the "settings" werent basically just fucking 4 of them and some with only "low" or "normal" settings

but yeah it's close to being an entire post of "hey if you're on min req try this "OFF", if you're on rec reqs try this "ON"!"

Outsourcing ports to no name studios can only result in tears :/ In the case of Mortal Kombat X, they're even getting Q-LOC to work on the PC version instead of High Voltage Software... Why not go with them in the first place? Fixing a bad port and alienating players on a platform sounds more expensive to me than just hiring competent people from the start.

If I could swap my code that I got with my 970 for the PS4 version I'd do that in a heartbeat. But I can't. And I can't get a refund. And there's no way I'm buying another copy of this game. So I'll just wait I guess. So mad. I really want to play this. :(

I just think it's funny how NVIDIA is promoting Batman like it's the pinnacle of PC gaming.

Well, I would've found it funny, if it weren't so goddamned sad.

they did it for every single one

I bet they're losing their shit

it's basically the only reason I still hold.. some weird semblance of hope in Rocksteady / WB getting their shit together with this

Maybe Warner Bros was hoping that the batman fans would just take whatever shit was handed to them and roll with it and enjoy all the extra money from hiring a cheaper developer.

I submitted a refund request to GMG. It'll get rejected, but if it does nothing else but add one more voice onto the storm of complaints about this game, it'll have been worth it.

"I would like to request a refund for Batman: Arkham Knight. It's not your fault, I realize that. But I can't do a Steam refund as I chose GreenManGaming due to your great sale on Arkham Knight. Right now, I am regretting that because had I gone through Steam, I would be able to get a refund.

The game is broken, 40% off a broken game is still $36 down the drain to me. And with WB's current recommendation being to play in 720p (lol), I have no confidence they ever fix this game. I am better off getting the Ps4 version (used, as I don't want them to see a penny from me after this debacle). If you can't help me, I understand. But it would mean a lot if you could refund me this money, and it would certainly make me come back to GMG in the future. I don't know how the process works to remove the game from my Steam library, but if there is one, I implore you to make it happen."

No you guys, you just missed the 'Make The Game Work' setting in the menu. I set that fucker to Ultra and now I'm getting a solid 60 indoors, the framerate actually goes up in the Batmobile, and my computer's giving me a radical beej under the table. Thanks for the hot tip, WB!

Imagine if the new Star Wars movie released and had large chunks of it still not done, with green screens visible.

Or if a Harry Potter book went unedited and was riddled with typos.

This kind of shit needs to change.

WB: Have you tried deleting System32?
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Honestly they might as well just go:

"So, hey guys, if you wait a little bit we hear that Xbox One streaming to PCs is pretty rad. How about you just do that? We've already got your money, so, uh... kthxbye."

The scary thing is that it seems like WB will let Iron Galaxy try to fix their own mess instead of putting someone competent on it. it's like they learned absolutely nothing from MKX.

I'm actually sorry for Iron Galaxy studios... I work on IT Consulting, and sometimes there is just so much you can do with what your given, I'm sure the decision to release the game as is was not Iron Galaxy's doing.

I kinda feel the situation went like this:

*Meeting at WB HQ*

IG Team Leader: So, we have been optimizing some things here and there but we are only 12 people and its kinda taking us a long time.
WB/RockSteady: Yeah yeah, don't worry, you just go ahead and add pretty smoke and stuff.
IG Team Leader: But... the framerate is not very stable right now and that wont help at all, we would like some time to optimize this, or even some help to get it done in time.
WB/RockSteady: Nah, we're busy with the preorder DLC chart, we still have to butcher a couple more parts of the game and five or six more costumes.
IG Team Leader: Ermmm, well, so extra time then?
WB/RockSteady: Nah, well just slam what you have into a couple DVD's, the rest will be downloaded, and make sure you absolutely PRIORITIZE the inclusion of that denuvo thing thats so safe.
IG Team Leader: That will actually make the game run worse...
WB/RockSteady: We don't care, we already made profit with preorders and season passes!
IG Team Leader: geez.. ok, got it then...

*IG Team Leader goes back to IG office*

IG Team Leader: Guys, we gotta wrap this up.
IG Devs: Boss, this ain't anywhere near done...
IG Team Leader: Our client doesn't care, no extra time, no extra help.Stop what you are doing and implement that denuvo shit.
IG Devs: *Sigh*, people are gonna hate us because of this and it ain't even our fault...

*Dramatic music, camera starts flying away, exits window, flys away from building while focusing on dev team through window.... looks at sunset*

CREDITS ROLL

So yeah, this is kind of a humorous approach, I just feel it hits home and its not the first time I have not been able to do my best because of circumstances. I'm not sure how the real situation went and this could very well be IG's fault for doing a shitty job and all, just want to think that this game just caught up on corporate BS instead of on developer incompetence.

I'm really feeling sorry for those guys right now :(.... Not for WB or RockSteady though.

Yup.

But this is the perfect time for someone who knows a version of the game is going to be shit to leak it to Kotaku or whoever else on condition that they are anonymous.

Instead, Rocksteady and the other studio suckered us as much as WB did, whether that was their intention or not.

Hey Rocksteady, hope you enjoyed being beloved. Remember how people wrote off Arkham Origins issues because that game "Wasn't made by Rocksteady"?

Ya, that's over now.

I was wondering why the PC version was so cheap everywhere..

that ain't it. they're always cheap and drop fast / plenty of stores selling for cheaper / nvidia giving out keys with cards. literally for every game in the series it was the same

Speaking of MKX, how's the pc version these days?

well plenty info out there suggests that development changed from high voltage to QLOC so, probably getting better

Also I very much doubt they'll give a fuck when some peeps are rewarding them by double dipping. Shit is going to sell boatloads of cash.

Warner fuckers

They've been advertising features that aren't actually in the game, in 60fps trailers to boot. Someone done fucked up.

Oh yeah no doubt, the SLI profile is also strictly useless as I get better performance without it, you can't help but laugh when you head over here

Batman: Arkham Knight is the finale to Rocksteady's much-loved Batman: Arkham trilogy, and boy does it go out with a bang. Reviews are excellent, and the praised console graphics are even better on PC where there's additional detail, higher rendering resolutions, and a raft of NVIDIA GameWorks effects.

It's quite a bit more expensive.

Basically the WB middle manager who went with the cheap Iron Galaxy bid (and/or pushed it out the door early) considered a few million bucks in savings worth vastly more then the potential problems a possible bad job on the port might cause, and almost certainly is safe in his job because that's what the corporation prefers. (Wall Street has done an excellent job post-war of training corporations to focus on quarterly results/share price/constant growth instead of stable earnings, long term health of the company and pro-consumer policies.)
