Until Dawn new previews and gameplay

Looking forward to this game. Want to try it at gamescom, but will need a little help from the guys at the wristband supply. #FuckThose2Weeks

Looking forward to this game. Was hoping there was (from the comments) a bit more exploration etc. One thing that I really don't like about the Walking Dead games is that you have to compete task A (talk to Kenny) before you can do task B (find Key), it's all a bit too linear. I want something more you collect/search for whatever you like and use them when you feel you need to.

I really enjoyed Heavy Rain, and this looks like the kind of game to just unwind too, doesn't need too much effort and is more about the story... I cannot wait.

Don't think it's been posted yet - GamesRadar's preview.

Heaps a lot of strange praise on the game, and basically states that it bears all the worst hallmarks and cliches of the genre in the best way possible.

Doesn't seem like strange praise to me. It seems the previewer knew exactly what SuperMassive was going for.

Reminds me of Alan Wake honestly.

I have this pre-ordered because I was looking forward to having a fun time making fun of an interesting but janky/cliche game with friends (and then likely picking up the rest of the story by myself later). So I'm actually not entirely sure how to feel about it maybe being better than that. As long as it's still pretty campy or goofy, that's for the better, I guess!

Really looking forward to this. I loved Heavy Rain, and that was one of the few games my wife was really interested in watching me play too. Hopefully she likes this!

that destructoid preview was my main fear. branching storylines in games like this always result into "sure, you can take this way but it leads to a game over, but go ahead." Heavy Rain tried to subvert that with the branching QTEs and letting multiple main characters die, but I think it still leads to 3 endings with variations upon them.

This is still in my top 3 most anticipated games this year, so i'm hoping the reviews and everything are solid. This has so much potential, especially with DLC/parties.

There is no game over in this game, they've already confirmed that in a panel at PSX, the only "fail state" in this game is a character dying, & that's not always a bad thing if you want a particular ending or a particular story path.

Here's ours (PSLS): http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2015/07/14/dawn-preview-flirting-fate/

It's definitely shaping up to be better than most could have expected. Then again, if you're not a fan of these type of games, I doubt Until Dawn will change your mind.

For those who are (like me), I can't wait for its release. Lots of replayability due to the Butterfly Effect, which should make springing for a "non-game" more worth it for some, I think.

"Strangely enough, it appears as though the game is learning your every move, be it through the decisions you’re making during gameplay, or during mysterious between-chapter psych evaluations being conducted by a lunatic. Do you dislike clowns? Don’t tell the game, because you’re going to encounter a clown mask. It made me rethink the way I answered anything the game was asking of me."

This game is doing really interesting stuff!

Definitely going to invite friends for a horrormovie night, then start up this game and let them make the decisions.

Going to be a blast I think.

Really looking forward to this game. I hope this is a bit like Cabin in the Woods :)

It's more like it'll be everything Cabin in the Woods made fun of in B Horror movies. Nothing wrong with that, as we haven't exactly had many games in this style before.

I still think this will be a good party game (even a Halloween party game) where you and some friends are a few drinks in and you can sit in a dark room and pass the controller around and be just yell out when choices are being presented and have the person with the controller ultimately make a choice.

The Witcher is already giving me open world fatigue, so I'm thinking I'll leave MGSV till an undefined later date, and get this instead.

I really want this game but I'm probably going to decrease my life expectancy with these jump scares. Embrace the fear though, I guess.

I am so intrigued by this game.

I really hope this game sells well. They took a lot of what we love about old school survival horror and they were smart enough to put a fresh, campy spin on it and delivered it with such great presentation and polish that it just comes across as a seriously accomplished title especially for such a new studio.

Word of mouth and youtube let's plays will be required to get this the sales it sounds like it deserves so I hope you guys are ready to tell your friends.

They'd be smart to let PewDiePie play the first few hours of the game before it releases. That would draw in a ton of attention!

Have they removed the move controls and also the need for Ps4 camera interacting with the ds4 lightbar? I'm really interested in until dawn but I dnt want to buy a ps camera for one game.

Move controls are optional if you want to and you never needed the PS4 camera to use the lightbar same as in Tearaway Unfolded. The lightbar simulated in the game is made with the DualShock 4 gyroscope.

You don't need a camera to use the motion controls but they're off by default anyway.

There's no way I could enjoy this if the frame rate isn't fixed, so hopefully it will be.

1st time through I'm going to play by "The Rules".

◾You may not survive the movie if you have sex.
◾You may not survive the movie if you drink or do drugs.
◾You may not survive the movie if you say "I'll be right back", "Hello?" or "Who's there?"

And everyone is going to be nice and act like they actually have a brain.

2nd Play through I will be tropey as heck.

The jock will be a drunken asshole. The slutty girl will be slutty etc Everyone is going to do the exact opposite of what common sense would dictate.

Which is a good thing.

And then it worries me from the mainstream reviewers that are just not gonna get it, and trash it with bias. (I hope not, but their patterns over the years)

It is going to be an insane review thread knowing most of the posters here as well.

I'm not watching any of the new videos, but chiming in I'm looking forward to this, been looking forward to it for years, even pre-ordered the game for PS3 for $39.99 back when it was listed on Amazon (only to get that cancelled. XD; ).

But I was absolutely sold on the game when I played it at PAX Prime in 2014, as I said in topics about the game back then and will continue to say, it felt like a mixture of an old survival-horror game, a Quantic Dream game, and a Teen Slasher horror movie with some paranormal and other horror genre twists. Based on what I have seen and know, it looks like choice plays a much bigger role here than its peers of choice-based games, and it actually has some good scares and atmosphere, and more 'gameplay' than one might expect from games like this (more walking around, exploring, interacting, evading, than QTEs, though definitely are QTEs, and that 'controlled animation' thing from).

Completely on-board, going in mostly blind outside of early stuff shown and the bit I played.

PS4 is region free, so you're good to go. If they release DLC, you'll need to buy it from that game's region though.

Funny, I thought I might be the only one planning something like this with a group of friends. I already made a fly for my facebook to invite folks. LOL
