Quantum Break Gameplay (Gamescom 2015)

Seriously though, QB may not have the best graphics but its special effects blow every other game out of the fucking water (PC included).

They seem to be turned to 11. Although they look awesome, I think they are overdone and could be toned down a bit.

Game looks great, action scenes look exciting, being able to combine standard gun play with the time breaking mechanics. Looking forward also to the TV show, some high profile TV actors.

Thread has gone to shit.....again...was good, then came the PC port begging and now the X PS4 game looks better.

Gameplay looks awesome even though the graphics are a bit last gen.

Are you kidding me? I would say it's close to the best looking PS4 games (U4 and Horizon) and it's easily the best looking XB1 game by far.

How does it look last gen? Can you name me what last gen game looks as good as this? The time effects alone looks more insane than anything last gen consoles can produce.

Insecure fuckbois. Basically.

Game looks awesome. I wonder if they plan to release a live action show before the game comes out as a prelude, just like in Alan Wake.

I am more excited about seeing how your powers develop and how the game trains you to use them. The footage looks like more advanced powers etc, so I want to see how they drip feed abilities to you and what interesting things they do with them.

The weird time-travel thing looks utterly awesome but I hope you can walk around more. Hopefully that hints at some detective work going on too!

I'm a Remedy stan through and through, but the combat did not excite me at all. All the mechanics looked designed around not having to aim accurately, no doubt due to being controller first, and I feel it may suffer for it. This was the game I was always getting the system for, but now I don't know. Especially if they really did drop the FMV narrative for Kevin Spacy render targets.

I've missed this style of shooter. Those urban/city/night settings are surprisingly rare. Used to get them dime a dozen during the PS2/Xbox generation (Dead to Rights, Max Payne et al) so I like the look of this. Looks like an evolution of that style of game, to me.

That time lapse is so good.

One of the first trailers of the game shows you walking around and figuring out what's going on in the scene. I think they can do a lot of cool puzzles with that.

I hope they have way more of that and less combat. So far I have seen plenty of slo-motion shoot-bang which is amazing for visual effects but I want to use my brain a bit more. :D

The effects in this game (ground warping, etc) look amazing. The time lapse stuff looks amazing.

The effects in this game are also overdone and distracting when it comes to gameplay.

The gameplay (ie gunplay and traversal) looks incredibly mundane given the premise and concepts at play. Multiple times in that gameplay trailer the player just ran right up to an enemy from a dozen feet away while they were being shot just to punch them (or rip the time thing off their back). That execution shouldn't be rewarded; you should have to shoot the enemy in the leg or something first to throw them off.

I'm hoping Remedy really goes all out with the time stuff when it comes to actual gameplay. Max Payne was great because of the slow-motion diving. In this game, there's an actual legit excuse for using slow motion.

I want to see a player pause time right after an enemy throws a grenade so he can shoot the grenade, unpause time, and have it blow up right next to the enemy.

I don't want ot see the player shoot enemies from behind a box, pause time, run to a different box, shoot enemies, pause time, run back to the first box, repeat ad naseum. Shit looks boring.

Here's hoping it's a gem.

Easily the best looking next-gen game, so far. By leaps and bounds.

Yea lets not get carried away, U4 looks amazing while being on a much bigger scale and with crazy physics and animations, I would say Horizon is also overall more impressive considering it's an open world and I don't see the fidelity to be any worse than QB (besides the effects, QB's effects are certainly the best, but it's still very linear compared to Horizon), so overall I do not agree with you.

Though I would say it's the best looking XB1 game, by leaps and bounds, and it certainly in the top league overall, there are maybe only 2-3 games that impressed me more, it looks incredible.

Kinda felt like the demo was a showcase for abilities though...would love to see more of how the game plays on a point-to-point basis.

And please guys, it's graphically impressive, but when comments like "this is the best looking next-gen leaps/bounds" stuff gets mentioned, thread will turn to comparison crap real fast.

I'm not sure this surpasses the Order in some aspects, but the special effects is cream of the crop for sure, It looks amazing, no need for the best comments.

My lord I take back every reservation I had about this game.
Looks unbelievable. I love that they changed the main character drastically too. Much better fit.

We Alan Wake bro's together again.

The effects in this game are really something else. The time lapse scene and the way the environment ripples when time's being warped look incredible. All the combat effects well. A very busy game visually, but in all the right ways. Excited to see what they do with the story given the crazy storytelling methods they've shown off so far.

Remedy-GAF, reunite.

It does look stunning, as do a few other games out there, but the effects are like nothing i have ever seen before!

Better off just avoiding xbox exclusive topics like this one 99% of the time, they all turn to shit one way or another.

As for the game itself I'm glad they changed the main character. Looks incredible, never had any doubt in Remedy.

Graphics look fucking amazing, and the gameplay looks solid (I wasn't wow'ed, but it does look fun). I am a bit skeptical of the story though.

How are you stopping time inside stopped time?

Fictional element explanation, away:

Relative time displacement. Freeze everything around a certain point while time keeps flowing in a controlled area.

Can also be used to stop the location displacement of an object while keeping its relative time running. For example, throw a rock in the air and wait for it to start falling back down. Freeze its relative position by locking time around it, while keeping time flowing on the rock. Acceleration due to gravity continues. Eventually, the rock hits terminal velocity while never having moved an inch. Unfreeze world time, rock is now propelling faster than a goddamn bullet.

Keep it going long enough and the rock will have built up enough energy to go nuclear and shift into plasma.

That last bit is more physics speculation because I don't know exactly what would happen if something fell forever.

These M$ exclusives just don't do it for me. Nothing in comparison to Uncharted

IMO ms has shown more original exclusives then Sony for this year and next. Sony had a good E3 show, but the big titles they showed IMO were 66% vaporware...

1. shenmue is years away from being a reality. It was cool for its to.e but the gameplay by today's standard wouldn't hold up.
2. The last gaurdian was the same demo shown years ago on ps3. It's probably years from being ready if they couldn't show anything new.
3. FF7 remake. It was the most amazing game when it released but a remake doesn't resonate with me. It's cool, but I'd prefer less remakes and more new things to see.

These were the biggest titles Sony had at e3. Outside of uncharted, what else does the ps4 have?

One of the highlights of the show for sure! It's come a long long way since the last gameplay trailer. It's shaping up real nice, and the TV show is littered with HBO quality actors. Nice work Remedy!

Horizon?
Dreams?
And I can say about Crackdown the same thing you've said about TLG, they only showed concept, it's likely to be delayed as much as TLG if not even more so.

But please, this is not the topic for such things, QB looks incredible and it deserves the attention.
