Game looks great so far. Don't know if I should wait until after it comes out to get a more polished experience, though.

They are the guy behind Ancient Space? Stunning, announce it Paradox!

How did that game turn out, anyway? I remember being really interested in it and I guess it released without much fanfare and I missed it.

The only thing I'm not a big fan of is ship designing. Easily my least favorite part of any space strategy game.

That game sounds too good to be true, but if somebody can pull that off it's Paradox :) Already wishlisted - Steam says "Coming soon". I guess 8 months is "Coming soon" :)

DAMN that trailer. This shit goes number one on my steam wishlist.

Eeehhh they always did ;)

Fuck yeah they always did!

That trailer was awesome. I have 100% faith in Paradox to give us a game that'll remain relevant and packed with content for years to come.

If this delivers, this game may be the last game I'll ever need.

Edit: I'm making the Foundation

They're not Firaxis. CK2 & EU4 had plenty of content at launch.

And were surprisingly playable! Sure, there were some bugs still, but nothing major or game breaking. Pretty much marked the turnaround point for Paradox's former reputation of launching buggy, unpolished products.

RPS preview sounds amazing but I am fearful because of the scope. I am rather looking toward this though and well if/when there are bugs Paradox have been good about patching them out.

Imagine you could import a EU4/VC2/HOI4 save, and end up finding that world somewhere on the map, abduct the emperor, Napoleon III or Stalin and enslave the planet.

The game sounds super ambitious. Hopefully they can get somewhere close to what they are aiming for
and not only after 2 years of expansions.

Guys, pls.

I have CK2 and EU4 but I can't get into either of them.

Is there a decent guide or let's play out there for them?

I used Arumba's you tube guides.
You just have to spend time. Id say start with EU4 too as ivd found it much easier to learn.

This is a very interesting preview. It was a good read. I'm quite interested in the game, but I want to see it in action. After Beyond Earth, I'm a bit wary about the switch from historical setting to SF settings. But if it turns out well, it could be fantastic.

Well this sounds incredible. My friend keeps trying to get me to play Europa Universalis, but I don't really like historical focused games, and it's been preventing me from playing all the other grand strategy games. But this is actually perfect for me.

Gonna turn my culture into intergalactic gods, going round the universe and uplifting pre-space races. That better be possible.

Is there any sort of release date for it? 2015 or 2016?

No date has been announced yet. The initial (and impromptu) Steam store page indicated February 2016, but doubt remains as to how much of a placeholder that may (or may not) have been.

Still wish Project Augustus had been something set around ancient Rome, but reading that RPS preview.. fuck this sounds awesome.

This sounds like my dream game. That research system sounds great, I hated the dull tech tree that every other game has to have. I always thought a more random system would be better, make more sense and be more exciting.

I think it's probably accurate. The RPS article days the game is near feature complete and in late alpha.

God that sounds awesome.
I'm just discovering Paradox games, my only problem would be that they're eating all my free time (and sleep time too)...

I started with EU IV last week.
Read the wiki, and did a game on easy with France. After 40 hours, I'm nearing the end, and I think I gained a good grasp on the game mechanisms, while really enjoying this first walkthrough.
Be prepared to spend a lot of time with the game though.

God, that RPS preview makes it sound INCREDIBLY ambicious, or at least filled with features that sound DLC-like, like AI becoming sentient and turning into a faction in late-game. I'm trying to keep my hype from rising too much, but it's getting pretty hard.

Anyway, in Paradox we trust!

It does sound too good to be true.

But if you just look back to the complexities of previous Paradox games.
I believe they can pull everything off.
