Forza Motorsport 6 has "wet weather, 3D puddles and night races" + more

Does the vibration effect cause anybody else's TX to make some really loud noises in Forza 6?

I'm not sure if it's an internal vibration or the base's contact with the metal wheel stand making it so loud.

There is also some wonky, low speed oversteer going on, not sure if this is related to the controller setup, but it appears that the cars can have a tendency to rotate about their central axis at low speeds with no throttle input, so I need to have a fiddle with it.

I noticed this a few times from replays of slow corners in low-powered cars. Thought I was imagining it. It must be a function of the oversteer because there's no way cars in FM rotate around a central axis like some did in Shift.

I was also under the impression the career was less Grindy, until I realized that you need to complete each series nine times to get 100%!!

I won the Bugatti Veyron on my first spin! Are the yellow/golden prizes less likely to be selected or do they just highlight the top-prize?

Man, the Above Average Drivatars keep pulling some weird things, for example my first time just now on Laguna Seca in Career:

- Car turns round the first corner...and hits the tire pile instead of going round it.

- Car braked near a corner too late...causing me to brake too late aswell.

- Car just ignored the Corkscrew and drove across it.

I don't know what to expect from them! Sometimes they drive so well I can feel nice synergy going around the course with them...then suddenly they do things which force me to rewind because they think nudging me on a straight is the right thing to do.

How long do I have to be in the Super Street series? I really am not a fan of most of these cars. I just want to race what I want to race in career mode, having these things gated is so frustrating. I'm glad that the showcase events are there to add some excitement at the beginning at least.

Minimum 15 races, as long as you aren't interested in 100% completion.

Wait, wut?

That's.........disappointing

Yup, There are 15 Series with so far like 4-6 Races each (Only done 3 of them)...

...each Series let you select one of 6 car categories...

...so that's like 30 Races per Series on Average about so far...but to progress you only need to do 4-6 Races.

In a way, it's like Forza 5.

But also with Showcase events, it seems like the Career is Pure Racing.

Also, has anyone tried the Endurance Races yet? I hear they are Multi-class, which could be fun.

How do i check my ingame screenshots outside of the X1?

The XboxDVR website shows nothing (maybe because the game isn't officially released yet?) Same with the W10 app

The G920 is basically just a G27. The TX has better FFB and the pedals have a higher resolution. The G27 was great because it was good value. The G920 (at least here) costs the same as the TX though so it's no longer good value [edit: I think the G920 actually costs more here!].

I just stuck with the basic TX setup, didn't bother upgrading the rim or pedals yet. Those bundles cost just as much as ordering them separately here lol.

I must be getting confused then. The_D previously linked to a bundle that contains a standalone wheel base, a leather GT steering wheel, and the T3PA pedals. All this comes to £460 - a massive £160 more than the G920.

BUT... There's the TX Ferrari 458 Italia ('core' set) at circa £270-300. I thought this was a completely separate (and inferior) product, but then I noticed in the description that it has a detachable wheel. Is the wheelbase in this core package the same item as the 'TX Racing Wheel Servo Base'? I just want to make sure the FFB and internals etc are as good if I'm shelling out that kind of money.

This seems to be something they've put into the game to approximate the car in front being more focused on you not passing. As a result when you fail to slow down until waaaay too late, they also hold their speed past the point of no return. I've noticed that this particular style of fuck up primarily happens when I myself haven't slowed appropriately for the upcoming corner.

The other two things you listed are most likely just learned drivater behaviour, as they sound like the sort of thing you'd see humans doing all the time.

Oh yeah, the regular Thrustmaster TX has the same wheelbase as the one in that bundle so it has the same FFB quality. The difference is the bundle comes with a better rim and pedals.

Yeah, I love it though! Gives the races a bit more life. Nothing sterile about my races, they all have spin-outs. Hell, sometimes it's me getting rough and knocking them around corners.

You wanna be on the inside lane, get more inside and die!

That's for sure, they do feel quite organic.

I'd really like to see some in-depth technical info on how they are programmed reckon it would be quite interesting.

Which one was it? What do you mean it's gone?

Check out the replay of the #1 scorer in the rivals drift challenge on brands hatch in the rain.
And that was done on day 2, can't wait for what we'll get to see in 2 months.

I cannot remember, but it isn't showing up as new & all the ones showing i can enter are ones i have done & took part in & won.

I clicked on (A) to continue career so i could exit instead of pressing (X) to take part in the showcase.

I thought it would just save it & let me do the Showcase race later on or something.

Strange because I can enter most of the Showcases in the game except like 15 of them.

Like all the Endrance Races except 3-5 of them are unlocked.

Indeed, you should be able to see all of them, but some of them will be locked until you hit the requirements to unlock it.

Which is strange as he said he done them all and I don't think anyone could have done all the Endurances races by now.

82 laps of Sebring? 300 Miles? I'm getting bored just thinking of it.

Racing these big trucks on Bathurst is a blast but frustrating. I got wrecked three times before finally winning on my fourth attempt.

No i mean the ones that you actually get invited to when playing in career mode, so the one i missed is one that is already open to me?

Maybe its new, but isn't labelled. Don't worry, I skipped one too and its there. :)

Also, 82 laps of Sebring would take 2.5+ Hours...wut?

Are we only getting one edition for the physical release? No limited/special editions? No steelbook? :(

Man, I wish I was back home with Forza. But West Palm Beach.....I'm seriously going giddy over the exotics I'm seeing here.

Yeah i know, i remember some of the endurance ones on the original Gran Turismo epic races & all the mistakes you make on the final laps because the adrenaline is flowing because you are so close & know you are going to win.

I am racing in the simulation setting so i have damage & also the tires wear, but does the tire icons change to red or something on these endurance races so you have to go into the pits? i am hard on the tires & mine won't last a full race!

My tires are on the right hand side lol

Yes just the normal version for physical, i wanted to get the Special/Limited/Collectors edition but the only was to go digital, i didn't want to but had no choice, i have a fear it may be a sign of things to come, however i think you can buy the VIP cars in the marketplace if you have the normal version, but i am not 100% on this.

Brilliant, thanks for the help! :)

(Can save myself a few pennies now!)

I just went through the same decision process recently myself, glad I could help a bit.

I didn't bother getting the bundles either because they're really expensive in Canada. I got a decent deal on the standard TX so should I decide to buy a new rim and pedals the total cost won't really be more than the bundle costs here anyway.

I have to admit - despite having every Forza since launch - that I'm really struggling with 6. Not in the sense that I feel it's a bad game - far from it. What I'm struggling with is my own driving, finding the braking very tricky to get right this time around and the AI more of a challenge in the career mode.

I'm struggling so much I've just got the AI on Average. I keep horribly misjudging braking - either too much or two little and the result is losing places.

I've noticed the same thing but it's a result of all the new tracks for me. I just have the braking line on until I get used to the tracks. I haven't had to adjust the AI difficulty though, I usually alternate it between highly skilled and professional depending on the event.

You aren't alone on the braking, see my post about it on the previous page.

They bite and lock fair too quickly and easily, and the trigger sensitivity is too much, all the braking is done in the first half of the trigger movement.

I suppose I could reduce brake sensitivity in the tuning menu - as long as I've got adjustable brakes fitted. Still seems a lot tricker than 5.

What difficulty setting are you guys using for A.I.?
PRO seems to be the sweet spot for me

Sometime the first guy is way ahead for me to catch up tho wich sucks, but i'm loving the challenge nonetheless

Switching between pro and unbeatable mainly as it's not very well balanced, for example, the Formula Ford factory showcase, for me, was impossible on unbeatable, the AI were miles faster, whereas the MX5 factory showcase was a cakewalk on unbeatable.

First-time wheel-user, so Above Average. I also only use Cosmetic Damage and Rewind.

Cosmetic because if I had Simulation Damage, either the Bumper Drivatars would bump me too much (or I bump them...) and like B1G A1AN, I burn my my tires way too much.

Rewind because I understeer alot and go wide and also Bumper Drivatars fling me about.

I do however refuse to use rewind if the Drivatars pass me legitimately, so 4th and 5th Finishes are common.

Also, having Rewind On allows me to drive more recklessly, even if I don't have to use it, anyone else feel like that?
