I made two levels so far. The first one I made when I had up to Day 3's tools. The second one I made today now that I unlocked all the tools. Both levels are relatively short but I wanted to see what you guys thought of 'em!

Well, I spent a few hours on this level but I don't think it is as good as the one's some of you have been posting. Its a maze level!

My son and I stayed up way too late last night playing and making levels. Our only complaint is the battery life on the gamepad, lol.

I didn't pay attention to the timer but I can say I've never stopped so I guess I did it.
I bounce on the koopa and it makes me go over the two pirhannas.

I have a level uploaded, you can see the code in a previous post or go on my profile through the who play your level part.

Never stopping is not quite the same though :) Thanks again for playing and commenting, had a few (at least 15 :D) runs of your level. Very hardcore regarding instant deaths, but I really liked some parts of it. Gonna try and finish it today or tomorrow, if my sore thumb can take it. Following!

From the looks of it there not getting past the dropping stone heads right at the start. Stop running and take your time is key to that. It's not hard.

I beat the stage but I can see why it's likely to have a low completion rate. You kill your players at the start, and most of the stage is instant death traps rather than letting players make a mistake at an obstacle and then repeat only that section, which will likely put people off. There are of course people who will enjoy hard courses, but the very nature of them will mean most people won't beat it.

My first attempt at a stage, "Wall kicks will work".

It's not a very hard level, but requires some platforming. Hope it plays as well as I think it does.

Here are 2 levels I have uploaded, they can be pretty challenging . But I don't think they are too bad, please give me honest feedback!

I want the Sonic costume just so I can make a bunch of springs in a level and call Sonic Boom: Bounce Pad Time.

Anyway here's a level.

Apparently I've unlocked everything now, but the bottom tool bar seems to be empty, is that some kind of quick slot bar?

Again can i not play my friends list levels?

Also, when making a course do you have to start from the beginning every time? Want to hone a jump and im sick of runming the whole course.

Is this game for me? I have no desire to create and edit levels. I'll likely never enter whatever create modes the game offers. The whole thing sounds boring to me. BUT......I love Mario and would love to play other people's works.

I improved my Dawn of the First Day. I had a lot of fun making it, this level encourages the player to make choices. There are a lot of warppipes :p.

I'd like to play more GAF levels, but there are a lot of pages already. Would be nice if there was a list of most levels imo.

I wish we could edit Bowser's AI routine. Tried making a boss room with him, divided by a oneway panel wall, so he cannot cross the whole room, but stays on his side, but all he does is walk up to the panel and jump forever.

Hey GAF! My third level is up, can I have some feedback, pretty please?
It's a Bowser's castle, something like the final level of a world 6-7 in a Mario game.

Please check the Bowser's Backyard: 35BC-0000-0023-8D76

THANKS!

I created a near perfect recreation of World 1-1 but in reverse. Something about going left in Mario feels odd which is what inspired me!

I thought the daily unlocks were removed? I got a notification saying that the castle theme will be available tomorrow. Running 1.01.

They were not removed, but you can get around them by spending time editing levels and from putting down a bunch of pieces.

Hey everyone! I don't own the game (yet...waiting on my WiiU bundle to be delivered), but I made a level at my friend's house. It was my first try and has gotten pretty positive feedback from people who played. It's not a super long level and has a couple of precise jumps, but nothing cheap. Take a look! :D

Title: Matt's Demise
Difficulty: Medium/Hard
Tileset: Super Mario Bros 3 Castle

When I mean without stopping, that's running through the level fullspeed. I think it's the only level I played when it's possible the whole time, so again congrats.

Since you played it, I changed the level a bit. There was one case at the beginning when stopping on a block would make the follow with the koopas difficult, now there's coins to help and the koopas are one block closer.
Anyway I still recommand to do it without stopping, it's satisfying to blaze through it.
I regularly complete it in one try since yesterday.

Cross posting from level design thread, let me know if you think this is a good idea and Ill set something up.

I think at some point once everyone is used to the game we should have a level design comp. All those interested have to submit levels and those not submitting levels have to complete all submitted levels and rank their favourite 3 to crown the GAF king or queen of level design.

It's worth it even if you don't like creating levels. Obviously it's a big part of the game, but the other 50% is experiencing the crazy levels out there. Plus, there are a bunch on the disc too that were created for fun. I'd say JUST DO IT!

I have quickly gotten over any qualms I had about skipping levels in 100 Mario Challenge. So much shit that's not worth my effort

I had a level that started you out like 1 pixel away from a koopa so you automatically lose if you move. That broke the ice for me skipping levels.

Sure. When you start up the game, you have to finish an incomplete level by adding some platforms to get you used to the editor. After about the first 15 (less?) minutes, I believe I was able to load up a 10 Mario challenge and play other users' creations.

I took a shot at a Super Mario World Level (there aren't enough of these)

It's my first level so it's probably a bit aimless, but any feedback is very much appreciated.

Anyone else feel like they could've made an amazing and heartwarming intro/tutorial? Like what Disney Infinity does every year, especially the first one.

I've made a level, my first level, that only has a 9-10% pass rate... hahaha ! Step it up, you guys !

Let me know what you guys think !!! The main idea of this stage is that even though it's short, there are always multiple ways to get through the obstacles :) Also note that there is 50 coins in this level. Try your best to get them all ! For whatever reason, my v1.01 isn't unlocking level stuff for me to use so I'm stuck making a level with all just the basic objects... hence the title :)

Title: Basic Objects
Difficulty: Medium/Hard
Tileset: Super Mario Bros
Level Code: 2706-0000-001E-7C5C

Next thing I want to do is really examine real basic level design. I want to design World 1-1 type level that can allow my non-gaming friends to enjoy too. Sort of like tutorial and teaching people the fundamentals of Mario :)

If you do, I'll definitely play it again.

And if you unlock warp pipes, make one of them warp to a sub room. Someone somewhere in the world will find it!

Well, I made it a tiny bit longer, no warp pipe yet though. Maybe way later in time I'll do a huge overhaul to the level.

Ditto. Some challenging stuff I give a fair shake, but shit like insta kill at the start just piss me off and I skip them immediately.

One thing I also love about this game is how crisp and colorful the pixels of SMB, SMB3 AND World look. After playing the blurry as hell ports of those games on Wii U, watching them in HD and at 60 fps is something else!

Just looking at SMB3 in Maker without that vanishing object glitch on the left while walking is pure magic haha.

Same, my courses barely get stars, apparently only some GAFer gave some, and I'm already at 6 uploaded courses.
Going to be stuck soon.
It is odd. The one where I spent little effort on has 10 stars on it. The clever ones are not getting much. Luckily people like the Ghost House level because that one was meant to be fun.

I think my stages are too hard or something, because I have like 5 likes total! What kinds of stages are you making that get stars?

Well...some people would probably say I'm cheating. :) I'm making courses that play music, they're not much better than any other auto-playing courses. But it's taking me quite a while to do them right, and I enjoy doing it!

How do you know that? Usually you know how many people played your level and how many people completed your level to the end of it.

Only one guy played it... (the count at the bottom left is successful attempts out of how many lives used)
