I can't say it's a big deal, I lost most of the respect for them with how they handled the GMG.

The only unfortunate part would be GOG and what happens to that.

Hope that this turns out to be false. The Witcher 3 is one of the only releases this year that didn't utterly disappoint me.

well at least they're done with The Witcher.

but seriously, I honestly don't ever see this happening. CDPR hardly needs some big company's money or help.

I don't believe it, sounds like a bullshit rumor.

If there is a just God they won't allow this to happen. Please be a rumor. I'd be okay with EA publishing Cyberpunk. Just don't buy them out.

In all honesty don't they have a good thing with Warner Bros?

And since EA helped them get started back in the day with licensing the Dunia engine, maybe, just maybe they are talking to specific people to get help with their own properties?

I mean dragon age's questing system is garbage compared to Witcher 3. It possible it could be more of a partnership?

Maybe we see Cyberpunk running on frostbite? Or the next Mass effect game's questing system is made by CDPJRED?

It's not like they are hurting for money that i know of?

Who knows?

Gog and origin to merge

My thoughts exactly. Let's not assume it's a worst case scenario, and maybe a best case scenario in which EA is looking to expanding it's online storefront through GOG, or something similar to that, involving the horrible death of origin and EA PC games becoming hassle-free to run.

I know most people aren't thinking about this (and I'm honestly not sure I believe this, as it hits SO many of people's hot button issues), but if it is true you can say goodbye to GOG.

There's no fucking way EA is going to run a DRM-free storefront that competes with Origin.

If EA buys them out then CB2077 will very likely be XB1 exclusive with a lots of paid DLC.

Hoping that isn't happening and these meetings are about something else.

Cyberpunk 2077 is years away, so probably a publishing deal, they might need money, because a new IP is a much higher risk than witcher 3

If this happens, someone should make a gif of Nicky and his brother getting killed in Casino and edit CDPR and Bioware on their faces.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
EA buys and ruins *insert favourite developer* is a meme.
CDPR/slav studio is purchased by evil US publisher is a meme.
CDPR has already turned profit on Wild Hunt.
GOG is successful.
CD Projekt's stockmarket value is higher than it was pre-Wild Hunt launch.

I think this might be bullshit.

I don't see how CD Projekt (the main company) would want to sell themselves or part of their team, especially after they stepped up to an AAA developer/company with the success of Witcher 3. This smells like fake.

We already know what CDPR's next game is, so why would it be crazy (as implied by the quote in the OP) for EA to try to strike a publishing deal with them for the next game?

Please God NO. They'd destroy the company. I think one of the most brilliant things about CDPR is that they really create the games they want to, free DLCs and all. This just seems like bad news.

Are you guys forgetting that CD Projekt owns GOG.com? Just like Valve, they have a steady stream of income coming in from digital downloads that is completely separate from the games they develop. Selling the company to EA benefits no one.

Some people like money now opposed to money later. They could be planning to focus on GOG.com and sell the development studio to EA for a nice sum.

Death of CD Projekt incoming. They're gonna cancel Cyberpunk 2077 and I'm gonna put EA on the permanent Shit List this time.

This would especially piss me off. I prefer GOG over Steam and Origin is a joke in comparison to the both of them. Stop being lazy buying out competition and focus resources into making yourself better, that's the motto to go by.

If it means them developing an open world Star Wars RPG of the same quality as The Witcher 3, then I'm all for it baby.

I already did that after they messed up SimCity (I'm still pissed at them for that). Oh, and look, they then closed the studio.

This just means CDPR games will be off my list of games to buy. Well at least I got to enjoy Witcher 3. Wonder how long it will be til they fuck up CDPR games and just decide to close the studio.

I hope this is one of those stupid rumors with no real basis.

well at least they're done with The Witcher.

They're done with Geralt; not The Witcher. There's no way they're walking away from this series when the latest instalment sold ~6 million copies in the couple of months after launch. It'll probably end its lifetime sales at near enough 10 million.

Wait are people actually buying this? Of course it's bs, this goes against the foundation of CDPR. It'll create a backlash so huge even Geralt won't be able to fix it. Of course they're not going to sell out.

Edit: Lol the damn poll.

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like
Oh God NO! I can only imagine what would happen to GOG if this goes down.
