CDPR and EA's philosophies are so different, that I would be appalled if a buyout was approved.
It would be a disaster like the Activision-Blizzard merger; just look at Blizzard's money grubbing schemes with their recent titles (3 titles for StarCraft II, the failed RMAH for Diablo III, microtransactions for WoW/HS/HotS) I'm sure that EA can do just as worse with CDPR.
The only developer I'd care about then is Valve.
What about Cyberpunk?
Not going to happen. Doen't match up with CD Project's strategy and they seem to do perfectly well on their own.

What I was trying to say: CD Project has an incredibly successful dev team (CDP RED) and a successful digital distibution platform (GOG.com), I don't think they need to sell their freedom at this point.good to know you're on the inside!

The hilarious thing is that the site got the "confirmation" that the person was an employee... and even assuming that was true, reposted credulously his speculation about the meaning of a meeting. Like, even in the employee's own telling, they have no idea what's going on, they just went "why would they be meeting if it's not for a publishing deal??? oh they're buying us". Like, come on.
Not a mission statement butWas their mission statement "we hate money"?

That means we need to be independent in both ways. First, financially and secondly creatively - they're both crucial for us. So as a company we're listed publicly on the Warsaw stock exchange, which gave us financial independence and creatively we own all our IP so we're free to invest in our own business with total creative freedom. This gives us a fresh eye in the studio, so it's very important to us. Maybe we could get extra money or experience, but it wouldn't make us happy.
EA not looking for big acquisitions said:EA not looking for big acquisitions
Electronic Arts has a long and varied history of acquisitions, from Playfish to PopCap and Bullfrog to BioWare. But the publisher isn't quite so bullish on buying its way to success these days, as CFO Blake Jorgensen said in an appearance at the Credit Suisse Annual Technology Conference today.
"I think our history with acquisitions is somewhat marginal in performance," Jorgensen said when asked if EA has identified any acquisition targets in the industry. "We have some that are spectacular, and some that didn't do so well. It's a headcount business, right? You're buying headcount, and that's always difficult to manage in acquisitions. It doesn't mean we won't do them, but I think where we've been most successful is in smaller acquisitions that we've integrated very quickly."
Instead of acquisitions, Jorgensen suggested EA would be more inclined to use its cash on buying back as much stock as possible in any given year. He also said there wasn't much reason to go out and try to buy the next big thing through an acquisition when you already have the talent capable of making that in-house.

Just seems like a weak rumor to me
Indeed. I would have never expected there to be such a rumor. Its just so out of this world. That would be hilarious. Absolutely terrible, but hilarious.
I suspect most people read thread titles and skim everything else. I'm guilty of it too sometimes. The fact that most people in this thread believes it quickly confuses me.
Can't believe some people are praising this due to the Witcher 3 PS4 situation, man, the salt... The salt....

Where's Bioware?
Yeah, people shouldn't dismiss this just because PR says so, that's their only option according to the law.
If it happens there will be a press release. If not (more likely) then nothing.
There were people praising this rumor due to Witcher 3's problems on the PS4?
