Sony TGS 2015 Conference [Over]

I had a quick glance at it earlier and I picked up "Vita is dead", "Call of Duty", and "Ubeysoft", and I thought it was a prediction list lols.

It was - I missed it too and spent ages wading through the thread to pull out the info. Luckily it's all collated in one place now.

Just finished it watching it. C+ for Sony. Was definitely expecting one of SE's big 4 games to be shown here with some real content unlike FFXV at Gamescom, expected something big from Namco, Capcom, a Level-5 game. Why wasn't Persona 5 given a demo or something along with a release date and no Last Guardian either.

I'm not saying to show all of those but showing something more would have helped. Saw some games I'll be getting for sure though, a few news as well which is good news.

Because S-E, Atlus, etc have their proper shows later, so they must have some footage and news to share too, not only in the Sony pre-tgs conference.

So you mean announcing that your series is doing so well that you're re-releasing it for NA due to demand, is asking too much of the Yakuza segment in the TGS show for a NA release date? lol right. It's like fuck, arn't we proof that TGS isn't just a audience consisting of Japanese folks?

Yea, it seems the point is completely going over your head. Nothing at TGS was announced with a NA release date.

Sorry your expectations are out of whack. Can't be helped I suppose.

Because all those companies have a presence at TGS and want shit to show there

Yeah, I don't get why people don't get this.

There the ATR, SEGA conference, Bandai one and Persona special. When these were announced especially the ATR and Persona people should have realized that we probably wouldn't have seen much.

FF7? Who expected it? they said we would see it in winter.
KH3? Nomura said Japan D23
FFXV? There live hour and a half ATR on the 18th

Going over the list in the OP and I'm mehhhh'ing all over the place. I wish I could find these games impressive. KoF15 is a good announcement. Minna No Golf we know about already. Many of the rest of the games it feels like you need a vita to appreciate like Danganropa. Bad conference. I like japanese games as much as the next fat guy but more like mgs5, pes, SF5, mainline FF and KH. This is a bunch of crap to me.

If you like those games you should probably anticipate Gravity Daze then. To me it felt more like a Ghibli game than Ni no kuni in a funny sort of way. The original was a little bare bones but for what was there, it had very good production values. I expect this to be a big game.

So that's the best the biggest TGS show as of yet can do? Meh, not impressed. At all. Not even a freaking release date for Yakuza 5 in NA. :(

E3 is for NA Anouncements
TGS is for Japanese Anouncements
PGW is for EU Anouncements

I have no idea why you would think a release date for NA would be revealed here..
Maybe your lucky to get it at the PS experience or what it's called :)

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
How so? lol I'm just answering questions being asked from people who seems shocked that I wanted a release date confirmed on a japanese title that is coming over here.

That's like saying:

*During Sony E3 2015 - After Ubisoft reveals Assassin's Creed Syndicate*
Speaker: Konichiwa Japan, you will be getting Assassin's Creed III this December 2015.

Doesn't make sense at all

Probably their best SCE Japan conference in recent memory for me. Great to see the indicators of a resurgent Japanese industry. Hope it continues!

Bloodborne, Gravity Rush 2 are the standouts. Almost all of the other game reveals intrigue me (except resi obvs).

The only thing that really got me excited was Gravity Rush 2, but the lack of a Vita version still leaves me salty. I was really only surprised by Ni-Oh, but undecided if that looks good yet.

Some of the SE stuff was interesting, I would like to see more on Project Setsuno. Lots of Tri-Ace projects, but they've been so hit or miss with me, I'll have to wait and see more.
Danganronpa was probably a big deal but I'm not really into that series, so eh. I'll have to play the first two (which I own), before I get excited for this one.

The conference was a big meh from me, all of these hyped "leaks" really bit me in the ass. I was expecting Legend of Dragoon, new Level 5 game, PS2 classics on PSN. I should've known better.

it's like most of JP publisher just band together to create this tgs conf. didn't even feel like Sony conf since they themselves only show 4 games, Bloodborne dlc, GD1&2, Minna no Golf. S-E show more games than Sony themselves did. it's pretty amazing.

Level5 doesn't have their own conference, AFAIK. So I'm not sure when/how they'll talk about their stuff.

Also: for those wanting NA dates or confirmation for any of these titles just stick to the PSblog. They typically mirror big game announcements there and confirm NA releases shortly after being unveiled.

The next few weeks should give you some comfort.

It seemed like they were trying not too focus much on things that they made a big deal out of at E3 (TLG, Shemue 3, Horizon, FF7 etc.) which imo was a good thing, made it feel like more of its own conference.

I think Level-5 is simply not ready to show what they are doing or want to avoid as much as they can regarding press conferences to focus on the game.

I don't believe they're making a game that is more for western audiences, would be weird given their track record.

Does Japan even care about Team Ico games as much as the US/Europe does? Only sales info I saw is from '04 when Ico was 250k US, 200k Europe, and 160k Japan. PSX hype

great conference! so many new games for Japan and hopefully most of them would come overseas....

the only thing missing is a mothership Monster Hunter.....Damn Capcom~ Everyone besides you has put out their A game (in the Japanese market) for the PS4/Vita.

It was an amazing show.

People yelling for P5 or Level-5 all the time are illogical.

Please explain.

People that want Level5 announcements are illogical? I think you meant people that are overlooking the awesome announcements due to no L5 news are missing out.

Illogical is the wrong way to describe it.

It works for P5 though since that has its own confirmed event.

Most of the games were announced for PS4 or PS4/PSVita, but can we assume they are almost all exclusive to Sony platforms, or will they be multiplat? Kingdom Hearts for example. If exclusive, that's huge for Sony- even more so if a lot of them come to the West.

They're exclusive. It would of mentioned other platforms in their YT trailer or site. We would of heard it by now also.

PS4 is the JRPG console this gen.

RE was announced as a PC game too shorty after. I would be safe and just assume everything announced today is PS only for now. SE has effectually thrown the Xbone in the trash when it comes to their Japanese releases.

I'm so lost.... Ppl are self identifying as "western gamers", yet follow a Tokyo Game Show press conference expecting something....

Like seriously, why???????

Gravity Rush probably (haven't checked).

Yakuza HD and Yakuza 6 no chance. With how Sega is, even if Yakuza 5 gets amazing sales (which I doubt) you are still probably looking at at least 1 year until you see either of those in the west

Thanks :( Bummer though.

This was a fantastic conference. I don't get why people are saying "meh"....

It's the Tokyo Games Show...it was tailored for a Japanese audience.

Ahh yes. I still think SE could have shown one of their big 4s at Sony's event however. Also possibly put one in Sony's event if they have more than one big news. Regardless, that doesn't make the conference better. LOL if the above picture is real -_-

Is that real? I hope its real...

yab , its real
full translation for the trailer

Yes, that was actually teased.

Full trailer translation:

--------

A new academy?

Monokuma: So you say the new Danganronpa's coming out on Vita?
Monokuma: Or is it coming out on PS4 as well?
Monomi: I don't have a Vita or a PS4...
Monokuma: Then what're ya watching the conference for!?

New mutual killing?

DEBATE SCRUMMAGE
Start!

Monomi: I didn't go to the second-floor classroom!
Shirokuma: Togami-kun's been killed! [Don't read into this, I can almost guarantee this is just the trailer authors messing with the fans]
Kurokuma: [You tossed that vase at him?] - can't really make out this one

Shirokuma: I saw what happened!
Kurokuma: A-hahahahahahaha!
Monomi: It wasn't me!

Wow I didn't know TGS was soon. TGS has been getting less exciting year by year though. Has anything awesome been revealed yet?

Because "ME ME ME" that's why.

Seriously if you're going into TGS wanting nothing but Western focused announcements you're fucking crazy. What are you even doing watching that event anyway?

I'm more excited for TGS itself more so than the press conference. There's a lot of potential stuff we're gonna get out of TGS. Mostly Playstation stuff though. Tales of Besaria, Danganronpa 3, FFXV, KH 2.8HD, Persona 5. Alot of the big games people want are getting their own special events at TGS because that's how big they are now.

I feel like some of the things people want to hear about -- P5, Level 5, and PS1/2 BC make far better fodder for PSX or even E3.

Basically, the more westerners care about it, the more likely they can save an announcement for something more westerners are paying attention to. Especially something like BC.

That conference was chock full of great games.
