Why can't that be his default look? I'd even settle for a story driven cannon look until he dawns his iconic mountain bum white gi.

Someone repost Last of Us Ryu and Sakura image please?
I can already picture that game: It'd have not only RE zombies but Lord Raptor-looking zombies too and those would be the super zombies!

Guile's family would have been wiped out and he no longer can be the family man.

It's hardly equal inclusion of eye candy until I see. Not until I see Alex in a barely-there thong with jiggle physics. As one of the default costumes. Until then, it will never be truly equal.

If anyone is gonna be in a thong, it'll be Urien.

But there's lots of great possibilities for Alex too.

Didn't know beards magically make you hotter.

It also looks stupid. All the hair in this game looks stupid. Everything else looks perfect.

Yes, but if his art and sprites are any indicator, he's not packing much heat to make it worthwhile. I suspect that Alex has more to offer, what with the bagginess in the pelvic area of his pants and all (they're near-dropcrotch, really). Plus the overall top is obviously covering SOMETHING up.

And besides, it's ALEX. One way or another, we'd get a show. Have you seen "dat ass" in his SF3 sprites? Once you see it, you can never un-see it.

I think that's more a general side effect of Ken Doll Syndrome, which still plagues most games to date. That aspect of the male anatomy still eludes (or frightens?) a lot of developers for some reason.

Wow, is this really all it takes to achieve "equality"? A beard and a decent art style?

Well, whatever does it for you guys and gals! As a straight guy, I think he looks great. I don't think it marks a " revolution" for games, or even just Street Fighter, but if you want to consider it a step in the right direction then, good. I'm glad people are being positive about it.

It's one of the doll-like qualities which are still incredibly pervasive even in games with more realistic styles; with complete absence of body hair being the other major one, as well as the bizarre reluctance to depict men's nipples in Japanese games (which Street Fighter has thankfully abandoned). I can understand not wanting to court censors by giving women visible areolae or cameltoe, but the less controversial details become conspicuous by their absence; whether the developers are trying to play on sex appeal or just create some basic verisimilitude.

What a pointlessly loaded poll.

Too late for that though. Cammytoe has been around since '93.

It's just odd. I don't think anyone is expecting distinct VPL (at least not in mainstream fare) but there should at least be some sort of shape down there. Go for the Sears catalog "roundness" if need be, but at least acknowledge basic human anatomy.

You'd think in an artistic field willed with some much machismo, they'd be more mindful of such things, but I guess a lot of designers still prefer subtle substitutes like a huge gun or a seven foot sword.
