2016 - The PS4 won't have a better start to another year

I doubt it anyway. Assuming none of these titles are delayed, and they live up to expectations, Q1 of next year is about as jam-packed with quality titles for its first three months as any owner of the system could hope for.

Unravel - A tentative March date

Jonathan Blow's long-awaited follow-up to Braid, a remaster of one of the Vita's best games, the next entry in the biggest fighting game franchise in the world, the most anticipated PS4 exclusive of all time, so on and so forth. I mean, we're getting a new Mirror's Edge and Deus Ex on the same freakin' day! Talk about firing on all cylinders right out of the gate. And that's not even accounting for the myriad of low-profile indies that'll trickle in week after week. I struggle to think of a single system having such a formidable line-up for the first quarter of a year.

Do you agree? Am I forgetting anything that can be added to the list? Have I jinxed it for everyone when they all get the dreaded delay treatment?

Great start! XBO will have a really good one to: Quantum Break, CupHead maybe ReCore.
2016 is about to be the greatest year for this generation so far.

EDIT: What is this... thing?
Nights of Azure (Yoru no Nai Kuni) – March 29th

Haven't paid attention to SFV for some time, great news about a Feb. release! I was thinking that game wasn't coming out for a long while yet.

The Witness is my next megahype game. Braid is still one of my all time favorite games, so I have little reason to expect Jonathan Blow and co. to let me down now.

normally when people make a list saying "look at all these games!" I want maybe one or two of them.

but in this list I actually want four of them. so yeah good start for the year in games.

I think 2016 will have a hard time beating 2015. This is already an amazing year, right up there with the best of last generation (probably 2011).

way better than this holiday lineup for my tastes anyway. not much interest in AC, fallout, tomb raider, star wars, just cause. i am buying cod but not the biggest fan of it.

Dark Souls 3, Gravity Rush, Nights of Azure and Uncharted all look amazing and are definite buys from me, Deus Ex looks really cool but wanna wait for impressions on that one.

EDIT: Ohhh Shadow of the Beast too, only saw the gameplay before the latest direct, but it looked fun

OP, you're not excited for Persona 5?

Persona 5 isn't coming out at the start of 2016

Nights of Azure (Yoru no Nai Kuni) – March 29th

It's a JRPG by Gust, the devs that make the Atelier series.

I have a feeling U4 will get delayed by a few weeks, like they did with TLOU.
For me that would be fine, as you know they have done it to make the game as good as it can be.
2016 does seem to be the best year so far for PS4, especially if they get a good VR release.

With Uncharted, Deus Ex, Mirror's Edge, Horizon, ScaleBound, Quantum Break, Halo Wars, Gears of War, The Last Guardian, Ratchet, maybe Mass Effect (please), Street Fighter, Forza Horizon 3 (maybe), etc...

No doubt 2016 is about to be the greatest. At least, it will be the best "new IP" year.

Thanks! Not something for me, though.

I'd be surprised if it even makes 2016 let alone Q1. All they showed at E3 was a concept trailer. It did look interesting though, but I wouldn't get your hopes up

Hi, I'm nortonff. I spend my life going into threads to say that I don't care about the topic of the thread. It's a really good use of my time.
yep, my wallet is crying already

Yeah it's pretty bonkers, Shadow of the Beast also representing January! Aliention among the competition in March and I'm expecting The Tomorrow's Children delayed to Q1 as well, since we heard no update about this supposed Fall release date.

2007 was where it was at last gen

- Halo 3
- Call of Duty 4
- BioShock
- Crysis
- The Witcher
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
- The Orange Box
- Super Mario Galaxy
- Crackdown
- Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
- The Darkness
- Persona 3 (North America)
- Metroid Prime 3
- Guitar Hero III

and a few cult classics, like Folklore.

Uncharted, Quantum Break, Deus Ex, CupHead, Far Cry and Dark Souls will probably be day-one pruchases for me.
Uncharted, CupHead and Quantum Break, for sure.

In fact, I hope this game won't be released until 2017... They started its development a year ago... 2 years to create a new IP? I'm afraid of the result.

Looks alright. 2 games I want. Hardly wallet busting thankfully

joking? i guess you could be serious depending on taste but just curious

for me

uncharted, deus ex are most anticipated
hitman and firewatch i will buy as well
maybbeee witness and digimon depending on reviews but not sure. actually division is in this wait and see category as well

unrelated to ps4 i am very excited for xcom 2 as well on pc

compared to this fall where the only big new game i am kinda excited for is cod. not a big star wars or fallout fan but willing to give fallout another go.

It's not actually a regular GUST jrpg.

Uncharted 4 for sure. Mirrors Edge maybe, probably not for €60. Firewatch, Deus Ex and Firewatch are a maybe, need to see more of 'em.

February specifically is nuts IMO

Definitely going to play Gravity Rush, SFV and ME:C

Interested in trying Digimon Story, DEMK, and Far Cry

Though if I'm being honest with myself I'll probably just be playing SFV for at least a month nonstop and everything else will have to wait
