NPD Sales Results for November 2015 [Up3: Combined Hardware For PS4 + XB1 + Wii U]

That is crazy.

I have to be honest, I thought PS4 sales would start winding down by now. Seems both consoles are doing pretty decent all around.
Highest November for PS2 was in 2002 at around 1.3M units. Keep in mind BF was not as big back then.

where is Sammy Samusu.

I know this has been beaten to death at this point but I'll never understand what Square Enix was trying to accomplish by making Rise of the Tomb Raider exclusive. Seems like they had everything to lose and very little to gain. If they were "disappointed" by the first Tomb Raiders sales I wonder how they feel about this one.

Well at least with this one they can be disappointed with a cheque from Microsoft in their pocket (of unknown size, admittedly)

good on xb1 and ps4 this month - they had some of the best novembers ever. i think the $299.99 price point is the way to go... i hope they keep that train going into 2016. consoles over $300 need to go away.

I am man enough to admit I bought Just Dance for my daughter for Christmas. So I am part of that, I will admit. It was like $20 with GCU at Best Buy, couldn't pass it up, lol.

I liked the last TR a lot, I feel so bad for the devs working at Crystal Dynamics they deserved better than this, SE fcked up with the exclusivity and the release date.

I guess it is that one?

"Last month was our best November ever in the U.S. for Xbox One, setting new records for console sales, game sales and Xbox Live engagement. The most critically-acclaimed holiday lineup of exclusives in Xbox history helped drive 44 percent growth in Xbox Live hours over last November, and 72 percent growth in U.S. first-party retail game sales comparing sales from August through November in 2015 to the same period last year."
Thanks!

Is there a source?

Ubisoft continues to take advantage of the 100 million Wii's out in the wild.

It makes me feel like Nintendo should've continued to do the same for a little longer... maybe not a long term strategy but it could've helped them in the short run it seems.

Actually yes they were. Just like how Sly Jak and ratchet were popular but SMS on the third place Gamcube took dumps all over most of their installments. It wasn't even the best selling game on the system.

What FPS's are you talking about, maybe that will help me understand what you're getting at better. Are you talking about KIllzone, which popular PS2 FPS's?

Came for hilarious shops, butthurt coming, too. Leaving satisfied.

Also kinda surprised Blops3 beat FO4 (after not really following much of this).

As a quick question, would 3 game at ~2 million or up be unusually high for November as well?

I get the sense we're going even further into the land of very few winners sucking up all the oxygen in the room.

I think Guitar Hero is probably a nice gift option for the holidays, especially for more general or younger audiences where you might not want to buy them Call of Duty.

That rarification is getting nasty now that gen 7 winners are in elimination brackets. I wonder how this is doing for the mid/low/indie tier's general success.

Oh no! What is Santa doing!? ;p

Doing really lowbrow comedy and failing spectacularly.

I'm curious how Wii U did.

It's anecdotal, but I saw a lot of those Smash/Splatoon bundles moving units when I was Black Friday shopping. Seems like that was the right value point for the mass audience. Shame Nintendo figured that out a full two years too late.

Really happy to see everything selling so well, great numbers for XB1, insane numbers for PS4!!

Heartbroken for Tomb Raider, I do wonder if, in front of such a scenario, they will really keep the game away from PS4 for a full year to release it among next year's potentially competitive holiday line-up.....do we have past experience of versions of a game having been release sooner due to poor performance on the initial platform?

Closer to 200k actually.

lose the <, replace with =

Ahhh, so Rise of the Tomb Raider ~200k? Same as Type-0 HD basically, gotcha.

Damn, I love Tomb Raider but it launched at a bad time and timed exclusive so a lot of us are just waiting for it to come to a platform we own. It's one of the best games of the year apparently so there should be no complaints about quality anywhere.

Install abse has nothing to do with software sales it's common sense, actually think about it for a second, how many FPS games that were best selling ont he PS2 beat Halo 1 or 2?

How many of the POPULAR PS2 platforms beat SMS in sales on the Gamecube which was third?

It does when it's a system's crown jewel like Uncharted. Halo 5 disappointed, but it has limited appeal outside NA, and launched to a platform with only 15M install base.

UC4 is going to launch to a WW audience, to an install base of close to 40M when it releases. This is common sense.

And I suggested you stop posting because you are spewing bullshit that makes no sense, not because of the one comment I quoted.

Stop, take a deep breath, and gather your thoughts before you type.

I hope that now MS will start to release more exclusives in off-season, too. First half of 2015 were really barren.

They got Killer Instinct Season 3 in March, Quantum Break in April... Recore is allegedly due in Spring (probably late Spring if manages that, although unlikely)

Probably see Scalebound knocked over to early 2017 if I'm honest.

i think everyone should have tried doing this more seriously. 360's family market kept going pretty strongly with minecraft. i think there was an audience on legacy platforms that was clearly underserved, and there's a family market out there right now that's pretty underserved. it's pretty much down to nintendo's platforms and the 360 at this point.
