The Division - 15 minutes of new gameplay

I love how some are still saying that it's just "yt compression" etc. Yes, there is compression all over the videos, but that doesn't justify the complete lack of world detail that was there in the reveal demo.

Just look at this:

https://youtu.be/njfj6KwEAfg?t=1m12s

Compared to this:

Now, I'm only comparing the games graphics to the reveal demo, I don't know how it plays or if it's any good until I try it, so don't take this post as a "he thinks it's shit because they downgraded the graphics" post. It's not.

but guys do you even know who the developers are? they made an RTS years back

they're not gonna downgrade blahblahblahblah

c'mon shills, line up

Not buying the whole no microtransaction thing. I fully expect there to be microtransactions to buy Dark Zone currency. No way would they pass up on that.

HUD overkill and what is with the enemy health bars in these kind of games, to show how much of your chores are left?

You spend all that time on art and graphics but post note the scene. I welcome devs that solve that.

The game play looked terrible. Right after they rescued the doctors, the AI couldn't even put a shot on him when he was standing there plain as day, not even using cover.

It looks like you choose one piece of cover and just shoot from there for an entire firefight.

I've been indifferent towards the game up until now, but I think I've turned the corner on not being remotely interested.

Still happy for those who are.

I know its got RPG tendancies but those bullet sponge enemies really break the setting of the game for me. It's supposed to be a real world concept, but those guys can absorb 15-20 bullets without any trouble.

And that's a Watchdogs-level downgrade. As expected.

Pass.

From what I have been told, the HUD can be set to hidden (take it with a grain of salt, but I believe the source).

I would like to se the PC version with its settings maxed (ultra what have you) before a real declaration.
Because, this is not a "downgrade" imo if people are talking about the console versions. If you think the console vrsion were going to look like the pre-release and announcement gameplay, you need to check your expectations.

Well first of all those are two completely different areas of the map, not to mention, there are a variety of areas and a variety of weather conditions. For instance, this is the most largest interior they've shown to the public compared to the police station in that video. In non visual news, voice chat has been added to dark zone.

Even pc games don't look like the reveal when it comes to Ubisoft games. A lot closer ofcourse, but still.

Anyone not expecting a downgrade isn't thinking straight. I still have pretty high hopes for this game. The combat looks pretty good and the rpg elements look addictive.

looks kinda eh, beta should enough to make a decision on this i reckon

also you cant call it a downgrade just because these toasters won't be able to make it look like the reveal trailer, you need high quality PC footage to make that call, and we don't have any yet.

Yeah, not a fan of that encounter design. I know AI is hard but these games should have enemies that are creative, cunning with a tough to counter toolset, using level design and the sandbox to their advantage rather than being bullet sponges which isn't an easy thing obviously but I'm waiting for it rather than dull bullet sponges ad nauseam.

It looks fun but holy downgrade Batman!
Can't wait to play the beta. =)

Hopefully the final game will run @ a steady 30fps without tearing.

it looks, visually, nothing like the trailer in 2014, but still at least the gameplay looks like it could be ok.

Well downgrade was expected but don't really care about it however...jesus christ that HUD! I hope we can turn off some things or scale them down. The way it is now is terribly invasive for my tastes :(

The HP mechanic with real guns is really weird. Watched GT preview and the player shoots like 20 bullets in the enemy head before he dies. Very jarring to me.

Do we know yet if this is going to be like Destiny, where the entire MP component being fun depends on having a regular group of people to play with?

The more I see, the more excited I get. Looks like a lot of fun, and the exact kind of multiplayer game I favor.

And call me crazy, I even think it's still pretty good looking too.

Being honest the 15 minutes footage was very boring. Just a standard cover shooter all-around.

And i'm not really a fan of the damage markers, but i'm positive you can disable it.

At least we have the beta coming to try it by ourselves.

That's all I'm seeing right now too. Had much higher hopes for this game, but I'll wait and see on those beta impressions.

Heres my issue with the visuals.

Of course we all knew that it was being shown on a high end PC but that being said so far this generation what we have been getting on consoles is the equivalent of HIGH settings on the PC. That makes it so that the visual leaps between the PC reveals and the Console reveal isn't such a massive difference.

This looks like Medium settings at best and some Low settings at worst. It doesn't even really look like the same game.

Quite intresting to hear from Jackfrags.

Old vid from arround E3.

- PVP doesnt feel very big and that the focus is more on the co-op PVE side of things (Can be good or bad. Guess it is what you like more) Missing some risk and reward to play it.
- Not a fan of respawning in PVP
- Missing directional voice chat in PVP when you meet other groups.
- Controls felt abit clunky sometimes but forgiven atm. WIP
- Very high time to kill so enemies felt alot like bullet sponges. Main gripe with the game.
- Games is pushing more for roles then classes. Wich he liked.
- Played on Xbox One. Looks pretty good but was for sure sub 1080p, Looked like 900p.

Added voice chat.
Gameplay overall felt better
Less spongy enemies

Not understanding the people moaning about "bullet-sponge" in this game. It's open world with pvp and you want people one-shotting you? Yeah, no. You need to get rid of some realism in games in order for it to be fun and balanced.
