Same here. Looks like I made the right call not buying the first edition. Most games are like this now, having a definitive edition later which is what I consider to be the real release date(not just because of DLC but also because the game should be patched up pretty well by then).

That's the one good thing about having a backlog - for the most part you are not compelled to buy anything near release as you have other games to hold you over.

And the patch thing you mention is a reason I've held off on a lot of games because I don't want to waste my time plenty a buggy or unbalanced game.

holy shit that 'increasing the season pass price later so buy it now cheaper' is brilliant

I don't like it and won't do it, but goddamn I will say good game.

right? and people that already bought the season pass feel vindicated even though we have no idea if the DLC is actually good

Brought Season Pass from GMG for $33 AUD, happy with that purchase although it seems the dlc is structured similar to Skyrim which is a little disappointing, was highly in favor of FO3/NV's structure of 5 decent dlcs, but I rate the overall arching story of NV dlcs as much higher.

Far Harbor being larger then Solstheim is inviting though, that was a huge dlc area.

Oh it always has to do a lot with everything. But, nevermind.

Enlighten me then. Has this happened before? Are you an lawyer? If they deliver the perceived value of the product purchased and then then decide to make more content unconnected to the season pass on sale, I don't see how a lawsuit would win in court. Regardless of wording, which itself is vauge, and likey placeholder as no real information was available. It's silly.

I don't even know how you can say that wording is vague, but I can tell you in Canada you can't fine-print out the big print.

Also the wife is a lawyer. Not one myself, but I have one on permanent retainer.

Bought the season pass even though l haven't started the game yet. It's $44 AUD on the PSN store if anyone is wondering. Probably a good idea to grab it now if you intend on getting it later!

Boy sure makes me glad I got the season pass when it was still only $30 in Canada instead of the $40 it is now and the $60 it will soon be.

Wait, so the will the Season Pass include more than those three DLCs over time? How much will For Harbor cost after the 1st of March? If I only care about For Harbor, what should I do?

they said this is just the beginning and that there will be more DLC this year. it may or may not contain more single player content so better lock that shit down before 3/1 ;)

$79.95 AUD. Fuck that increase right off. That's on par with the cost of an actual game. I very much doubt the content will be anywhere near the quality of Fallout: New Vegas' stellar DLC, especially going by the game's current content standards.

Fallout 4 was a disappointment to me in so many ways. I'm angry with Bethesda right now, but man... I really want to play this.

I might pick it up in the two week window, though I still haven't touched the game itself after getting hyped and nabbing a pip boy edition.

^Screw the old Bioware system.

Sigh.

I look at this stuff, and then I just remember the lame quests and stories and factions and realize the DLC will only really add to that.

Well, we can only hope the stories and quests of the DLCs have stepped things up.

I'd honestly want DLC that beefs up the factions and adds new quests to flesh them out.

We STILL don't really know much about what the hell the Institute was even really doing. Maybe a Old World Blues style DLC at a secret institute base.

For now? I'll wait on reviews, maybe pick up the goty one day.

$50 season pass?! That's crazy. I was still waiting for the base game to drop to $25 before buying it after all the mixed impressions. I guess now I'll just wait for the game of the year edition.

I love the art they created for these things, but only Far Harbour really interests me. I'm in for the story DLC.

I just hope you won't need to be too far into the game to unlock/access it. I haven't had a chance to beat it and have a lot on my plate. Then again, it comes out in the spring, so maybe I'll find the time.

Exactly.

It never is, but they will keep buying these passes.

Weren't the Battlefield passes done well? As well as TLOU? I'm sure other games have also had some subjective lines drawn over their season passes as well.

Passes aren't inherently bad. If someone plans on getting all the content it's a discount, and maybe the only discount for non-Steam purchases. The passes are usually also available until at least the penultimate content, so unless the last one is a huge stinker in a good line of content, the waiting game works there as well.

In this case, they are offering a window for the original price while showing off what content largely pertains to what is likely their original run. What is shown here at least gives an idea if the concepts are compelling enough to dip in. If not, people can wait till they are out and hopefully see the concepts of the remaining content to see if again it's worth the now higher entry. They can also just pick and choose, or wait for a GOT edition. The options hurt no one.

Funny thing is, people would be pitching a fit still if they announced a Season 2 pass or more DLC that wouldn't be included in the original $30 pass.

Automatron sounds like more shitty go here, kill everything, get the item and come back quests that Fallout 4 has more then enough of. I never really got into building up my settlements so I can't say I care too much about Wasteland Workshop. Far Harbor sounds like it could be decent.

Overall seems like a pretty disapointing DLC package that hinges on how good Far Harbor is. Given how shitty the quests are in base Fallout 4 I'm not holding my breath for that to be good but you never know.

Wasn't expecting this. I was going to get the season pass during the winter sale but there was a lot of stuff that was actually on sale that I bought instead. Didn't see any rush in buying the season pass. Don't have the money to get it now, so I'll probably be waiting for a 75% off sale.

People that condemned other $50 season passes will no doubt eat this shit up, the hypocrisy towards Bethesda in the gaming community is mind blowing.

yeah build that narrative

pretty soon you'll have repeated it enough that it couldn't possibly be bullshit that you just made up

unless you've got evidence to corroborate these thoughts

go on, i'll wait

infinitely

but what's really gonna happen is you're just gonna post the same bullshit in the next fallout thread like it hadn't been addressed here

Wasteland Workshop sounds really lame. It'll probably be my least favorite. I can't believe I didnt guess that the Detective Agency could be a way to access the dlc. I had all sorts of ideas. Another speculation I had was that the new area would expand the border and connect to the existing map without teleportation or travel. Nonetheless, im really excited and cant wait.

Fallout has never released what was considered shitty dlc. Not all the dlc in Fallout 3 was great but there was some very good ones. I never heard anyone say it was terrible

Game sharing the season pass I have no reservations.

i've heard lots of people say that anchorage and mothership zeta were terrible.

I liked mothership zeta a lot but it wasn't that good.

anchorage is dogshit and I remember it all too clearly, it being a staple of the beginning of every fallout 3 run i made before i finally came to the conclusion that cheesing the game with stealth armor isn't that much fun for me

a lot of people are down on the pitt too, but I really, really liked that. point lookout was on point and i hope this expansion here takes a lot of notes from it. but yeah, there's been some bad Fallout dlc.

I think the Alien one in 3 was really bad, but yeah generally Bethesda's DLC has been pretty good and worth the money I've spent. And I had no problem getting this season pass. And if the DLC turns out being shirty, well then next time I won't be so quick to buy it. But I'm easily betting I'll get $30 worth of fun out of what they put out.

I for one am all over this shit. Gonna go home and buy it tonight. Fallout 4 was a disappointment for me in some ways but it hasn't stopped me from sinking tons of hours into it and having a lot of fun in the process. Also any DLC that involves more crafting, in any form, robots, settlements, I'm all over like a cheap suit. That's half the fun of the game for me

I buy season passes bc they are worth it, but thanks for letting me know they're not.

It honestly is quite this simple. Have a game you know you want all the DLC for? Buy the pass as it will save you money (Black Ops 3 saves you $10, Fallout 4 saves you $30 right now and $10 after March 1st). Don't want all the DLC? Buy the pieces you want. In this case not sure because it hasn't all been announced? Take a risk and buy it, don't take a risk and pay $50 for the pass when more DLC is announced, wait until whenever for the GOTY, or minimize risk by buying a digital code for the season pass at $30 on your platform of choice from GMG, Amazon, etc, hold onto it until more future DLC packs are announced and then either redeem it for yourself or go to the B/S/T thread and sell it to a fellow gaffer that does want it and get at least your initial $30 back.

Harbor DLC looks solid.

Honestly though this is the perfect way to sell Season Passes. Release it as $29.99, then announce your coming out with even more content and it's going to be increased in price soon. Not sure if Bethesda actually plans on selling a lot of the $50, but they just got a TON of people to pull the trigger on the season pass right now when they probably wouldn't have gotten it at all.

Yeah I meant the total package of past dlc was good
There are indeed weak individual ones

This is absolutely ridiculous.

This is a $30 season pass that got a price hike for no reason.

This isn't a $50 season pass that early adopters are getting nearly half off.

Huge difference between the two.
