15 Votes Needed for Majority

Reposting for the new page, and with edits from the last few posts.

Posting it here because it could be considered a #scumtell, but I think we need a big discussion about metagaming possibilities before the next season.
Revealing someone with metagaming is never fun and then you have situations like these where I am reading between the moderator's lines. I know it's wrong, but I try to figure things out and can't ignore my best lead.

Catching up from today's posts, still keeping my vote on Blarg.

Hey Dusk! I saw you dropped a vote on me while you were going through Day 1, what stuck out to you and what led you to vote for us?

I imagine your vote will change to one of the trackers today, but I would like to know your thoughts as obviously you thought I did something to seem like scum.

Welcome to the game!

Yes, I placed my vote on you because I wanted to ask you why you seem more focused on deducing all the hidden player roles, rather than actually picking off scum.

Do you see such a read as a potential scumtell? I'd like to open that question to everyone.

I read bats as town, I don't read Magnum as anything. Is there anything to be made of such?

I'm probably going to say it would stop me having a strong read, but i'd still lean the alignment of the half that is contributing.

i suppose it could go like this

in a scum team, there are bound to be certain scum members who contribute more and seem more town friendly. while there will be other scum members who contribute less, simply glide along, and could make it harder to give a firm read.

i suppose even if you get a good, positive read on one member of a pair, it shouldn't override any unsure/negative read you have on the other half. not all scum players are going to be on the same activity level or contribute the same amount.

and of course, if you get a strong scumbro read on one half of a pair, but a good town read on the other half, i would give the scumbro read precedence.

i agree with the sentiment that we shouldn't be diving too hard into metagame territory, particularity a player's past history.

i'm okay talking about mechanics as long as it's reasonable

Why not just reach majority already?
We aren't even half way through the day, I agree this got old a long time ago but I've got plenty else I want to look at.

Agree with this btw. I've said before that many people find town easy to fake, so mistakes (or in this case, scummy partners) take precedence for me.

I'm at work

Why don't you?

I think he already has with the "why not just reach majority already?"

Honestly, why do we always drag these days out? Barring another dogpile we are likely just have inactivity until the last hour of this day at this point. Even if the roles were reversed and we were on the chopping block instead of Blawl I would feel the same way...

It hardly seems like a TURBO at this point. We've been at this for almost 2 days. I feel like there's very little else to say about the Tracker situation. It feels done at this point.

You all either decide to vote on it already, or we actually talk about a Plan B instead of circle around a bunch of nonsense.

It seems disrespectful to Hobo, who joined and wouldn't be allowed to speak his thoughts before a lynch when there is time.

You're the most likely NK target tonight so I was curious what your thoughts would be if Blawl flipped scum tracker.

Thoughts on Blawl flipping scum? A simple "we were right".

Thoughts if Blawl flip town? An "oh shit we have to worry about alignment AND we likely only have one more investigatory role (3 total roles: 2 trackers 1 alignment investigation of some kind)

On everyone else regardless of flip? We are currently working on something to leave in case we die tonight.

There is a fairly apparent voting pattern from D1, involving Blawl and Ultrajay/Boo, that is very much worth looking into if they flip scum. But they need to flip scum first, so it's not really worth pursuing until then, especially if it's just going to obfuscate this thing today.

I am still here, and I am yet to present our main point of view on this matter.

Don't TURBO us. I need more time to type this up.

This and giving hobo a chance to type are the best reasons to not vote NOW, but how long do we wait? Today, the whole time?

Sometimes forcing a day can help town too. Especially if we do find scum, as they will have less time to plan their night action (and less people as well)

So there, an example of why closing a day early can benefit town. If we know we are killing scum, we can deprive them of people prior to a night action (as I am sure they discuss their night actions during day phases as well... Though not that I would REALLY know I've never been scum.

I highly doubt that, at this point, a scum Blawl's teammates would be seriously trying to save him. It could be possible, but my guess is that they'll be voting for him today

That's why I think we should push for a majority. People left in the "Didn't Vote" column = ambiguity that mafia hides in.

Eh, I may be me being too idealistic, but I like making hypothetical scenarios and seeing where they lead me. They often result in a useful contradiction and when it doesn't lead me anywhere I move over to the next.

Blawl's lynch is almost guaranteed to give us something useful unless they flip neutral.

My two cents on ending the day early are that the extra time we're giving town isn't that useful in the grand scheme of things. Maybe a more extreme example as we had a confirmed scum, but in DR we let Czar stay alive for all of D4 because "we can't turbo" and threw the entire day away despite best attempts at semi pressuring people for voting on them the next day.

The issues:
1. Blarg or Kark, who should go first?
2. Should one of them go today? If not, why?
3. TimeFlux. Innocent, scum, or lynch on policy?

Catching up this morning. Going to answer these questions since they're up, then I have a few other things I want to comment on.

1) Right now, I'm leaning towards Blarg on this one. There's simply more evidence on that side.
2) I believe not lynching one would be a mistake, so yes. In my eyes we have 2 seemingly conflicting claims, and both of them "confirm" the other as a PR. By not lynching one, we're knowingly leaving scum a PR alive.
3) I lean slightly innocent, but I also haven't seen them contribute as much as I'd like in this phase. They've sort of hidden away, despite Time's claim he was going to be more active. I'm inclined to go with policy lynch here, if we think we can afford it.

Now to something I wanted to talk about that I've noticed. KingKitty brought up this:

in a scum team, there are bound to be certain scum members who contribute more and seem more town friendly. while there will be other scum members who contribute less, simply glide along, and could make it harder to give a firm read.

It made me realized we've had a few people try to get by without contributing by instead simply saying they agree with what their partner has said (obviously, why wouldn't they?). That logic does not fly by me at all. Despite being a pair and having access to the same information, you're going to arrive at conclusions differently, or maybe even arrive at different conclusions. Going forward I'm not willing to be lenient at all on people who're trying to hide behind their partner's work and coast. I don't think anyone else should be either.

First you should determine what "favorite" means. Is it the thing you like the most? Would that be a majority of your feelings? Perhaps the majority is defined as 50% + 1? But what is 50%, really? Does 50% split your feelings into decimal fractions, or do you simply round? Why do you simply round your feelings?

Why are feelings?

Alright, me and TL will stop agreeing on things and start manufacturing arguments in the thread in 3... 2... 1...

TL YOU FUCK

WHY DID YOU VOTE BLARG

I SAID WE WERE VOTING KAWL

Oh, good, I see we're metagaming the shit out of this game still.

I think cabot's point, while it feels kind of dirty, gives more credence to a Blawl lynch.

Not what I was getting at, but thanks for the comedic misinterpretation for effect. I simply meant posting "I have nothing to say that my partner didn't." isn't something I'm willing to take. Agreeing with a play and read overall? Sure. But you can still contribute your own point of view as to how you arrived at them looking scummy, or at least use your own words to explain it. All I'm saying is it's a lot easier for a pair of scum to fake being town if only 1 of them posts.

Seriously, though do we have any other good candidates besides Blawl at this point? Flux and I, I'd think? I know you all are ready to lynch us on policy, but are you willing to ignore Blawl to do that at this point in the game?
