I think new hardware that is not an immediate market success will just be ignored. PS4/Xbone/PC is the path to reaching customers. So let's see.
Not only do they plan on releasing an upgraded XB1.5 they want to release a new architecture-based VR-console in 2017.
On top of that, Devs are already dealing with the PS4k.
...
good luck devs!
100% convinced, MS let these leak to see reactions and then continue or cancel accordingly.

stop thinking of them as different things and start thinking of Xbox as a platform just like PC, Android etc.
I guess its an option for people who just want a pc in their house and stream everything from that.I really really don't see the point in the streaming box, they are way too late to the party on that front and too pricey.
So, they are going the "Jack of all trades, master of none" route.
They have the best marketing team working for them ;-)
What?

It's like Microsoft is trying to compete with Steam streaming, Apple TV and Android set top boxes, the PS4k and possibly the NX(?) all at once. I'm not sure if this strategy of saturating the market with hardware based on different price points is the best way to go.

AMD contracts have already been signed for manufacturing lines. These aren't the sort of plans we hear about, inform devs on & ask them to plan ahead for (which the article mentions), and then just change out on at the last minute.
If MS didn't flip before the X1 reveal, even though they had almost 3 months of constant negative feedback from the community, then I doubt its going to happen here.
There most certainly wasWait there wasn't negative feedback "before" the Xbox One reveal.
Consider that the CEO moved the Xbox team into the Windows team with the sole purpose to increase the appeal of Windows. At least, that's what he said.
The OS war is taking place on multiple screens and at many different price points, so it makes sense they're trying to level the playing field with OS competitors like Apple, Google, and even Amazon.

Before I watch the video can someone please explain why this guy is credible?
He's part of the microsoft blogging scene...has leaked things before...wrote for neowin for a long time now works with Paul Thurrott
I have confidence in Microsoft PR to deliver a clear and understandable message about the new devices.

Wait there wasn't negative feedback "before" the Xbox One reveal.
Nobody knew anything before the X1 reveal. It was just speculation at that point. They didn't even have a chance to tell anyone yet, so I think his example of them "not flipping" BEFORE the reveal doesn't really work here.
Haha, someone forgot that almost all of the policy direction & Durango specs were leaked months before the X1 was announced, or the Adam Orth incident that confirmed all of the leaks, and how MS stuck their heads in the sand & went full steam ahead even though they had 2 months of feedback from the Orth situation, and 4 months total from the initial leaks.
Companies are way too large to change direction this quickly. It isn't until they are absolutely certain a specific direction will tank them, like after E3 in 2013, that they will change direction.
I'll wait for my XBOX fridge. Or blender. Then I'll jump in.

I hope this new Xbox Slim has a built in power supply.

That's a shame. Sony manages it. I'd even like for my Nintendo systems to be a little larger and to have the power supply built in. I don't like these big power bricks.I don't think microsoft will ever do this. they're too worried about an overheating box after the RROD thing
This Xbox Two/Xbox 2017, is it an upgrade of the Xbox One like the Neo is to the PS4 or is it a new Xbox entirely? The latter wouldn't make any sense at this stage IMO but the wording of all these devices is becoming a bit confusing.
i guess the "all-in-one entertainment device from Microsoft" idea has finally been trashed.
