[Spoilers] Resident Evil 7 Demo: "There's More, Right?" Edition

I feel like there's an 80% chance this was already done, but just in case it wasn't- did anyone try answering the phone call at the same time in reality that the clock says in the game?

Have you looked at the finger on the menu? IT IS A KEY. Where to useit and how....i have no idea, but i have no doubts it is a key.

Ended abruptly.

Decent demo that was front-heavy.

No systems.

Why is this Resident Evil? I like the idea as a reboot or it being PART of a reboot or new side… BUT this felt like a slasher film and not RE. I liked IT though.

Carry this into Haunting Ground II maybe? That's a classic.

Anyone notice that the trigger point with the Family man at the back door is only once you actually open the door is when he gets you and not simply using the key? Maybe you have to use the key to unlock the door but don't actually go through it and instead do something else...?

I tried getting that icon someone posted a while ago to pop up...I deleted my save and loaded the video and waited...and then I loaded the tape again, got to the end and then loaded it a third time to see if the icon would pop up and nothing.

You have to pause the second the tape begins.

At this point I just wish whether someone at Capcom could just confirm to us whether there's more or not. The signs point to yes.. but with so many people working on this and no progress being made, I'm beginning to think that's it.

The longer it takes for someone to find the next thing the more easier it becomes to think there is nothing else. I still believe there is more but not as much. Guess I'm just trying to say I'm calling it a night. Really hope someone finds something soon.

A new RE game is coming out soon so maybe there will be a link?

Recreated that spinning simbol and then stopped the tape, the simbol was still present for a few seconds after take the tape out. Maybe that is just a saving icon or something, but if that was the case it wouldn't last so long....weeird

the trailer probably has plenty of footage from the game proper. It's not all from the demo. I think the beginning of the trailer was actually either an early build or not even ingame footage, given that the phone was on the second floor and our friendly family man walked by the kitchen. Either we're missing a MASSIVE amount of content or we're taking the trailer too literally.

There is an obvious door in the attic though you can obviously see the seems in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqdjUAVTq9s. Combined with what was said by capcom on the german resident evil facebook page (there is something in the attic), there is probably a way to get it to open.

This game is messing with me. I could have sworn I heard a babies cry in the phone room but when I hit the share button and looked back at the footage there was nothing.

Please say whether or not there's more soon Capcom. I can't take much more of this.

I feel like there is nothing left to see. The demo is the prologue to the kitchen, which is what happens when you get "welcomed to the family son'd". I think your only ending is to get punched out, you can't leave the house.

The phone calls might just be refering to the fact somethings can change in the future via the tape.

There's absolutely no point for the phone call room/second+third floors if this is the case.

The kitchen is what you're playing, anyone who knew about re7 a long time ago can confirm this. This is what was built on top of the original concept from what I know.

Just streamed for a little over nine hours. Didn't find anything new. Sorry I didn't update OP, I'll certainly do it when I wake. For those of you who hunt into the morning, good luck!

I give up for now, i have swinged my axe everywhere.
We need some beatiful mind shit now to figure out how to use that axe and finger.
Since that axe can only be accesed once you learn that you influence the present through the video tape, there is something missing to make the puzzle make sense.

After playing through this demo multiple times, I'm still not sure how I'm feeling if this is the direction that RE7 is going to go in. I have nothing against this style of horror game and those who enjoy them...but after messing around with this demo, I don't like the sense of uneasiness it leaves me with. I guess I just feel old enough now where I don't really want to be scared in that way anymore. I still fucking love playing the previous Resident Evil games though (except 6, which had so many problems...). I love the mix of horror and action that the series has been known for, and the lack of any action and all horror in this new direction is what has me worried.

Resident Evil has ALWAYS had action, from the very first game, even the scarier remake, the games have been about using weapons to fight against enemies. Resident Evil games would make you feel nervous about rounding a corner if you didn't know what was around it, but I didn't feel like I was not equipped to handle it either.

I understand that they want to spark some new interest in the series, but I feel like this is just too hard of a turn. Personally I thought Resident Evil Revelations 2 was one of my favorite RE games in ages, because it had all the elements I loved about the series. Good characters that were both old and new, amusing dialogue, a villain that stood out, but was over the top in the way you expected from the series, and even a good mixture of tension and action. This is what I've expected and wanted out of the series, and that game delivered it. This demo on the other hand doesn't evoke any of the traits that has made me love the series for almost 20 years, except that it fits in within the horror genre. At least at this point in time based on the demo.

Probably already discovered, but I stopped the video right before it ended, headed up to the phone room (staircase brought down before video, got the axe after watching), and found the mannequin already smashed apart.

I haven't heard this, interesting
then again, I'm not the best at following all details, so hm

You get an axe, there are enemies. Unless you know how to use that axe on an enemy (PLEASE) there are probably better threads to complain about what RE is.

I don't have a PS4, but I'm infatuated. At the risk of spreading misinformation, I've read from multiple people that the German Facebook page has said the axe can be used in certain situations in the attic, and that hints will be given later on.

Sorry, this just happened to be the only thread on the subject of which I've been engaged with, and after a day of following it and playing the demo, I just felt like venting my thoughts.
