Yeah. I've got a 500GB SSD hooked up to my Xbox One and it works flawlessly. It reduces load times quite a bit in certain games too.

I do most of my console gaming on the PS4 where I own over 100 physical games and nearly 200 digital games, but I'm looking forward to the Xbox One not only for the exclusives but also the backwards compatibility. I doubt with my requirements I'll need much more than 500GB anyway.

The console looks sweet on the photos and 300 bucks with a bunch of games for an updated and feature-enhanced console is a great price. So will all this be doable with decent build quality or do they accept a loss out of the gate?

Review embargo is up on the 2nd, so we should know then.
Correct. Unless they upgraded the hard drive and added SATA III that should still be the case.

Since i saw those little dots on the XB1 S i thought it would be a really cool idea
Imagine if your Xbox was set to auto-update in hibernation and you could see what was downloading, how much it has to download etc. on the face of the console itself
Or if it notified you WiiConnect24-style but you could see all the information about a message or a party invite without the console even being on. (Of course having the ability to disable it)
Or if you could customize the sound chip to make a cool little jingle instead of the regular chime when you turn the console on
Theres all kinds of cool things you can still do and im sure they wouldnt be too harrowing to implement

Something weird is happening with my receiver then, as I specifically have i/p Scaler set to Off, and it only works on the BluRays that say Ultra HD or 4K. Regular BluRays output at 1080 as they should and I turned off Upscaling as I did not like the massive audio delay.
I fully accept the PS3 does not do 4K, but something is up with my receiver and that is what made me think it did support 4K. That and that thread I was referencing which if I took the time to read the comments would have discovered it was a farce. Now I get what the Rigby comment was about.
Yeah man thats exactly what I was thinking, I was also thinking though that if you place it in vertical the console would detect that and start displaying it on the top instead, the only real problem is that you got a giant fan in the way, but luckily lo-and-behold Cortana is circle shaped, so instead of Cortanas usual flips and turns you have to be kind of liberal with her design. some accents of the LED's should use the same colour as the one on the consoles profile (like if I chose a lime green, it would be lime green) and with the vertical view when you ask Cortana something it shows information on the side kind of like it does on the actual screen itself. You'd also be able to hear her with the same speaker that the power-on chime comes from.

Front-side would work better vertically now that I think about it, it would also be able to replicate Cortanas menu look as well
not much people have it vertical and to the side because that eliminates a lot of the width benefits you get from having a vertical console, But it would work no matter what orientation and thats the beauty of it

The 500GB one looks good but I already own HALO Master Collection..the Madden one looks good too but its only digital and I really want to get the disc version of the game..I dont have a 4K TV so is this system pretty much useless without it(Might upgrade to 4K if a really good deal comes around on black friday) I already own an XBOX ONE so would I be able to use the same gamertag on both consoles?
Yeah you'd be able to use the same gamertag easily, but if you dont care about aesthetics, you dont plan on getting 4KTV and you already got an XB1 the XB1S isnt really a good decision

Yeah I am going to hold off on getting it for now..will see what happens in the coming months and if there is any good deal on a 4K TV..will also wait to see what happens with the PS4 NEO and VR

I'm not sure. I'm actually not positive whether this deal is real or not. A guy at my local GameStop told me it was a deal for pro members this Saturday, but who knows with them.

It's "limited" and meant to be the expensive model the hardcore buys. That's why it's releasing first.
No but if that's all you want it for, I would wait until Microsoft talks updated audio support. They haven't mentioned anything in regards to updated bitstream out formats.
Well to be fair, he might as well wait for Neo to see if that has 4K BD if he plays only PlayStation games only.
But Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon 3, Gears and Halo collections are reasons enough to pick up the Xbox One S in my opinion, if you want it for the 4K BD.
I really hope so, the original 360 faceplates and lights showed off how beautiful illumination can be but how nice adding your own personal touch was. it was a very human console and J Allard and team nailed it.

What if I told you you could buy this now, play every Xbox One game you want and everything you own and all your saves will transfer to the Scorpio and you could trade this in next year towards the Scorpio.

Why will they? Clearly the fact that they release the most expensive version first is to try to get as much money as they can from early adopter.
That's how the electronic market is working.
