Quantum Break coming to Steam and Retail on 9/14

With Microsoft allowing crossplay, why can't MP games come out on steam?

I guess it's technically possible, but they would just have to program it in and you would be without the Xbox Live services and features and no PC/console cross-buy and cross-save.

As a fan of Remedys I'm really glad they're going to get some sales on this and keep their books balanced.
Felt shitty seeing their next project is a campaign for a chinese F2P MMO.

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
Let me get this straight. You install it through dvd's and redeem a steam code as DRM, right? Does that mean if I lose the dvd's down the road the key is still tied to my steam library and I can download it instead, right?

Yes, it's been that way for years now.

Happy to see that. I absolutely loved this game, graphics, and its story telling. Can't wait to dive back into it again when I get a new graphics card.

I have a bluray drive. Why not release the game on Bluray so I don't have to suffer through all of those discs?

For those Quantum fans that want something to hold close as time unravels around them, we’re excited to unveil a special edition of the game coming to retail channels thanks to a partnership with our friends at Nordic Games.

Why are these guys always involved when it comes to bringing good news?

This is great news because the Windows Store deals for that game isn't up to snuff. $75 Canadian for a digital PC game is a hard pill to swallow.

Seems to support Windows 7 and up judging from the specs on the steam listing.

Really pleased Microsoft saw the light, or at least had their arm twisted enough, to see that the Windows 10 store was inherently tainted by early reception, and that Steam is still an open option to them.

You are in a very small minority of people. Blu Ray was never really adopted by the PC crowd, playback and compatibility being the major issue. Makes more sense for them to release on DVD when that is still the standard on PC for optical discs.

Someone didn't paid attention when choosing their trailer :")

Isn't borderless window usually 2-3% slower than exclusive fullscreen?
Also, the DX11 render has some potential speedups, especially for NVIDIA cards (provided a game ready driver version gets made).
Sure, but that would be faster because it's using a different renderer, not because the executable is packaged differently.

Hmm, it mentions both DX11 and DX12, maybe it will have support for both renderers.

Well here's hoping performance just keeps getting better - played this and heartily enjoyed it on the XBO. Played about three hours on PC, and even post patch it was still pretty shit.

I'll triple dip when it's really cheap.

That physical CE is very tempting. Hopefully they have managed to get the performance up so that it runs at least reasonably well. This current 30-40fps on a 1080 at 2560x1440 isn't what I'd call reasonable.

Fucking hell the windows store verison left a bitter taste in my mouth and ruined the game for me with all of its issues. May have to give it another try with this if it proves to play better.

YES! So glad I held off buying the Windows store version. Whew.

Looks like they finally realized that not putting it on Steam would hurt sales/Remedy quite a bit so they made the smart choice.

I assume it does since it's playable on W7 and up

pretty funny really that it's so soon, win 32, dx 11 or 12, 68gb install (so no streaming movies?), potential for mods! quantum break - steam pc definitive version

still not that interested in the game but i may actually buy it just to help send a message, any store other than windows store plz

I think a lot of people are hoping because it's on Steam, it won't have some of the issues? I have no idea. One can hope

the problems with the renderer looked like they were centered around it being made for the xbone and hastily ported to UWP, i don't think porting it to win32 would fix anything on its own

Good news. I balked at the ridiculous 70€ price it had in WS, and poor performance on Nvidia combined with UWP limitations really sealed the non-deal. Hopefully Remedy will get alot of sales this way since the game itself seems pretty solid, if not excellent.

I just finished this a couple of days ago on PC. Great game. Hopefully by the time this releases on Steam they've ironed out a few more of the bugs. It's not bad any more, but there's still a bit of room for improvement.

They should put KI on Steam, too. I think even if it required Xbox Live to play MP it would still grow the userbase by a bit.

Since MS owns this IP, does this indicate at all that games like Gears and KI will come as well?

Hope so, but it may be because it's a SP game with no implications on Xbox Live or MAU.
