Weird Reddit post that vanished.

Just saw this on Reddit. Apparently it was up for a handful of minutes and vanished.

It's just more dumb conspiracy theory bs. They're trying to "fit" all the conspiracies together on pol right now. This is just going to end up being a way to try to discredit her - the real Hillary died and her body double continued the race, so the supposedly victorious President Clinton is an ineligible fraud.

Not their fault you beta libcucks won't admit the truth.

How much are They paying you to say this? You can't hide the truth much longer.

I'm meeting with some Montefiore executives tomorrow. I won't let them leave until they admit she died. I won't let you down diablos and clockwork.

Thank god she's gonna make it. With the looming specter of Tim Kaine I was worried I'd have to suck it up and vote Trump /s

Clinton got sick. Due to the narrative on the Right that she is secretly dying, she felt it was in her best interest to try and hide it. In the end she was wrong because it hit her harder than she expected. If you want somebody to point fingers at here, point them at the Right for their stupid conspiracies shaming a sick person into hiding that they have pneumonia.
I agree.

If Trump had been the one to faint this thread would be even bigger, don't kid yourselves.

Fact is we all dismissed the idea she was sick as a conspiracy and it turns out she was.

Not exactly at death's door like some wanted to believe but still sick.

The conspiracy was that she has an underlying medical condition. She has an infection, not some progressive disease.

You cough up phlegm balls one week then get diagnosed with pneumonia the next and you go about your business thinking it's no big deal? Come on man.

It's not like she's got leprosy, cmon man. She's on antibiotics, shit goes away in a week or two, what's the big deal?

My mom worked everyday she had pneumonia. It's shitty, but unfortunately working while sick is a part of American culture.

Oh please. If she had come out and said "I have pneumonia I'm taking a few days off the trail" the story would turn to 'can she not HANDLE the Presidential race? Is this Presidential??!? Roosevelt had Polio and he still managed!'

There's no scenario here that wouldnt get spun against her.

I'm not going to disagree with that. She said she was concerned with her opposition using it against her (which happened anyways). That being said pneumonia can be very dangerous so to say she thought it "wasn't a big deal" tells me either she doesn't care about herself or perhaps lacks knowledge on how dangerous pneumonia can be.

I guess it depends on what kind of benefits your employer affords you. If I got sick like that I would get a Dr.'s note and get paid while I recover at home. There's just no need to push yourself like that.

Or knows that her version was mild.

Mild pneumonia is a thing. She saw a doctor.

Sure but the Dr. (at least according to that report) also told her to rest for 5 days. She ignored the Dr.'s advice and continued on thinking it wasn't a big deal.
I think it's less that she thought it wasn't a big deal and more to do with knowing she really didn't have a choice. If she had missed the 9/11 memorial service she would have been absolutely crucified. Trump would have a field day and the media would play along. It was damned is you do, damned if you don't.

I'm not the most articulate person, but I can't see the upside in her disclosing that she had pneumonia. In more idealistic circumstances I could see her taking time off to convalesce, but these aren't ordinary times. Wasn't FDR always filmed from the chest up? Or more to the point, was he ever filmed sitting in his wheelchair?

I remember that attorney general Janet Reno rarely ever had her hand shown on camera after being diagnosed with Parkinson's.

True, but it highlights the challenge for any candidate with a shred of principle campaigning against a post-truth right winger.

Obviously it will need polling results and to make an unprovable conditional, around what would have happened if the Clinton campaign had been up front about her illness, but my instinct is that it would have been better for them to have got ahead of the story.

She got sick and got scared of the reaction. It's like a child in trouble - we've all been one of those - the attempts to hide something are usually a lot worse than whatever silly thing we've done likely out of no real badness.

But she's a grown woman. Shes been trying to push through to show how strong and healthy she is - even the way she left that apartment. In the end her attempt to keep favour has backfired.

The people not getting the attention. It's not because she has pneumonia it's because she collapsed after a number of days of apparent illness; ran away then tried to pretend nothing happened. It's a story about someone who clearly is too easy to put on a false face in public.

What has now happened is people are still asking questions on her health. Things like her phone call with CNN are showing improvements; she needs to embrace the press more and just be a bit more level with people.

some people wouldnt make rent if they stayed home even one day

doctors also tell all of their patients to eat healthy and exercise everyday

Resting when you have pneumonia and a general advice of "eat healthy and exercise everyday" is the same? lol

Not that the reaction wasn't understandable in regards to the 9/11 events

"clinton doesnt care about 9/11 families -- doesn't show up to any memorials"

Gonna go out on a limb here and assume Clinton isn't struggling for rent.

Doesn't matter in that line of conversation since they started talking about people who are employed and getting doctors notes. Clinton is unemployed and getting a doctors note isn't going to excuse her from anything

I got scared for a second at the thought that Drumpf would run uncontested...
Glad this was nothing.

It probably is nothing, but the impression it leaves is very bad. I think you can make the case now that Trump is arguably running uncontested, but we'll wait and see how this plays out over the next couple weeks. It could be recoverable with a very good debate performance.

In a way, she probably screwed up an opportunity to "humanize herself." Had she stated/leaked info that she was already sick and still went to the 9/11 ceremony anyway, she would have received a lot of sympathy (especially if she collapsed). Happens in sports all the time.

Jeremy Beadle used to try and hide his withered hand when on camera too. Lots of people didn't even know unless you pointed it out, even after years of being on TV.

In retrospect, I agree. I assume they calculated the risk, and hoped they could power through it without any one noticing. Sadly enough it didn't work out all that well, and it played straight into the narrative that they were trying to avoid. This whole "Is she sick"? Just asking questions" - "No, she's healthy" dynamic created an atmosphere where Clinton can't be ill any more without it being interpreted as a sign of weakness. These super-human standards she is being held up to are unreasonable, and can fuck off.

Knowing your own limits and being able to trust your staff are leadership qualities as well. It would have come across better if they were open about it sooner, but I'm glad she's taking some time to rest and recover either way.

Dispelling Health Concerns: Hillary Clinton Ripped Out Her Femur On Stage And Proved It Is Unbreakable

“I welcome any man or woman who believes they possess the strength to shatter this femur to join me here on stage and try, though they will most certainly fail,” said Clinton as she proudly held her leg bone high above her head. “Let it be known that my femur is more robust than a thousand oxen and as unbreakable as my determination to lead this nation as its first female president.”

Clickhole is national treasure.

Late, but did you know the culture in America actually looks down on people for staying home when they are sick? If you can't 'push through it' your a whimp looking to fake sick for a day off. I'm completely serious.

It doesn't matter that she's not effected by pay and such. It's such an ingrained part of our culture that even rich people tend to not use their vacation days because it's frowned upon.

I think some people are downplaying this a little too much. I'm not super well up on US politics so please do tell me if I have any of this wrong, but my view is that it's not the alt-right and their belief that she's dying that's the problem. Those people, and the people influenced by them, were never going to vote Clinton and always going to vote Trump anyway. The problem is that the country is fairly evenly split along party lines, and by no means are all of those that vote for the GOP crazy, wall building, immigrant hating, muslim banning psychos. There must be - and I say "must" because if there was no center who could be persuaded to vote for either candidate, then the whole campaign is pointless, right? - be those in the middle who look at Trump and don't see someone they want President, but also aren't super keen on Clinton. Her nomination as Democratic candidate is going to require some people to hold their nose and vote for her, rather than vote for her because they really like her. It's these people who you need to worry about, not Milo's gang of teenage nutbags. These people will be sensible enough to realise that people get sick, it happens, she'll get over it, it could have been Trump etc. What they won't like, though, is the idea that they weren't told the truth. That Clinton knew what was up but, in her own words, didn't think it was a big deal. Then she practically collapses and they say she just overheated. Then only when video of her "medical episode" comes out do they finally disclose her diagnosis. Combine this with the email thing - again, you can argue that she didn't really do anything wrong, but it was hardly kosher was it? - and this is just yet another weight to add to the idea that she's a bit shifty, a bit untrustworthy. This won't matter to the alt-right - they won't vote for her anyway - but for those in the middle who are genuinely umming and aahing between the two, it might be enough to either shift them to Trump or otherwise cause them to just stay at home.

Working in a school, I can say that Americans are indoctrinated into this system at an early age. Perfect attendance awards are lauded as much as straight A's. Sad really.
