You can now play more than 250 Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One

I have since I gave all of my old 360 games away.
A lot of the games I previously owned digitally have made the jump. I've downloaded most of the Games With Gold 360 games as well. Beyond that, bought a few I didn't own that way previously:
Red Dead Redemption, Tekken Tag Tournament, Fallout: New Vegas.

...and I was gifted Gears Of War 1, 2, 3 and Judment codes by a very, very nice Gaf user!

The holy grails for me right now are not games I expect to make the jump to BC: Street Fighter IV and Marvel Vs. Camcom and Skyrim. Oh, and 50 Cent Blood On The Sand.

But my original point was that Microsoft needs third-party deals and then that user mentioned ReCore and Forza which is what started the whole thing in the first place.

Third-party deal vs publishing is third-party's title is (or at least should) be the same shit to the end-user... you get a new game either way.

In a thread about backwards compatibility.

Either Xbox needs some exclusives not owned by Microsoft Studios or they need to expand how many studios they currently have. The PS4 just has a larger library of exclusives to choose from. I can name more PS4 games than I can Xbox One games and I've never even touched a Playstation before.

Fuck, what I'm trying to say is that the Xbox needs exclusives that can compete with Playstation's main exclusives like Uncharted and all those games.

Xbox does have exclusives that compete like Halo and all those games.

Being serious though, they could use more. BOTH companies could use more. Sony definitely throw more shit at the wall than Microsoft do, but most of it doesn't stick. In terms of staple branded franchises both companies are actually around about the same.

Was Halo Reach ever improved? Also, is Sonic Generations available yet? Those are two games I want to play on BC.

I'm not sure about the whole list here, but I'll be extremely surprised if we don't see Crackdown 1 and 2 once we get closer to 3. I'm thinking they'll go to Gears of War route and include them for free with the new game.

Yeah I reckon this will happen.

And still no PGR.

For shame, MS. For shame.

BC PGR3 and 4 to be bundled with PGR5 as Scorpio launch title.

Call me zany but...
maybe they should just allow us to emulate our original Xbox discs.... eh?
I mean... ORIGINAL Xbox discs.
I know it's ridiculous, but I still have over 100 games just hanging around.

Its really not as mental as you think, it can be done

Nah. After FH3 the time will be right to take it to the city streets.

Forza Horizon is precisely why it's not happening. It basically exists to fill the area PGR did, whilst having a stronger branding.

A third city-based arm of Forza tho...

Just yesterday I was Jonesing for a snowboarding game. Searched the BC list and saw SSX! I much, much prefer Amped, but this'll scratch that itch I guess. I gotta buy it but oh well.

All in just one year. Impressive if you ask me. Performance on certain games were bad at the start but a lot of the big games have performed well and in some cases even better than the 360.

I hope they keep this up, at this rate majority of the 360 library will be up and running on Scorpio when it launches.

Has anyone confirmed that 360 games will be playable on Scorpio? I never took that for granted, even with the BC push MS has for all future hardware. Figured they would start with BX1 games.

Why do people always act like BC would only apply to PS3 here? They sold me tons of PS1 and PS2 games digitally.

Because nobody gives a shit unless it's backwards compatibility with the previous generation "PS3." Nobody gave a shit about BC on PS3 for PS1 games even if it was disc based. I own almost 100 PSone games on my PC between my American account, Japanese, and Hong Kong. They're attempting PS2 BC, but I wouldn't mind seeing my PSone games there too. However, most people don't really care about old games. If they did, Sony would probably get yelled at some more. Let us cling together and yell at them to bring us rule of rose and fatal frame to PS4 on PS2 BC. I want horror games. And more fighting games. GET ME THOSE GAMES. I WANT THE GAMES.

It'd probably be Forza Gotham, but the same principle. Although it needs closed circuits, real 1:1 cities, and a focus on scoring kudos through style.

To be fair, if it were true that nobody gave a shit, then it wouldn't be worth them trying to sell the PS2 games to us again. Sure, less people care the further you go back... but a PS1 emulator should be trivial at this point... and if you're selling these things digitally, you should be looking to bring these forwards where possible. I don't feel like buying PS2 games on PS4 is a sound purchase, as a result of my previous purchases being seemingly ignored.

Ssx works great. The only thing I noticed about it was sometimes the music, and the way it changes based on performance, can glitch a little, but it's barely noticeable.

I would play Halo and Gears over any PS exclusive from the past 20 years. To each his own.

I'm guessing whenever crackdown 3 launches. Same with mass effect. I expect 2&3( if EA allows them that is) to become BC around the time when Andromeda releases or maybe sooner since they are longer games( like a month before) etc

I would've said pre-order bonus but since Sony may have ME marketing idk if MS can do that
EA won't bar their releases. They have no interest in remasters at all (not that it should matter, but most publishers seem to be operating on an either/or standard), adds more value to EA Access, and gets them more sales out of older releases and DLC.

Has there recently been any word on bringing XBLIGs to Xbox One?

Edit: Games that should be made BC:
Crackdown (and I guess 2),
Mega Man 9 (and I guess 10),
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2,
Radiant Silvergun,
Rockstar Table Tennis,
Full Platinum back catalogue.

I'm pretty sure Geometry Wars Evolved 2 is already backwards compatible

Was Halo Reach ever fixed? I would love to replay that one at a playable framrate
It is "playable" and always has been, even before the first patch.

That said, it hasn't been updated since January (the first update) so if it didn't meet your standards then, it won't now. But almost every single other BC game (the other notable exceptions being all 4 Gears games) has been updated in the past couple months, so in theory it (and the Gears games) should be getting updated soon-ish.

I still have my 360 setup so I don't use this right now, but it doesn't change the fact that it's an amazing technical achievement and super pro consumer move on their part.

Fantastic way to keep Xbox gamers in their ecosystem. Comforting to know that (almost) my entire library of Xbox games is going to follow me around from console to console (theoretically) forever. If they could get OG Xbox BC going, it would be a coup for their marketing.

EA recently put out a statement that they are reconsidering the consumer demand for remasters, so I don't think I would count that out. I'm sure we'll continue to see some Xbox 360 titles on EA Access, but I wouldn't count out a remastered trilogy of Mass Effect for current gen consoles either.

This doesn't get talked about a lot, but I feel like the last few months have made the value of BC very apparent. We've gotten Red Dead Redemption and the original Forza Horizon, which was given away for free as basically a promo of Forza Horizon 3. I had never played a Horizon game before and now after finishing the original thanks to BC, I can't wait for Horizon 3.

Would love to see multi-disc games finally make an appearance - Lost Odyssey and Mass Effect 2/3.

BS I finished its campaign on the Xbone, it was fine. only a couple sections are hurt enough for it to not feel as shit as reach does usually

"Couple of sections" aka every time there is a large engagement. Maybe you consider that trash standard to be playable, but I don't. It's not acceptable. Reach is singled out throughout this thread and for good reason. It's the only Halo game with actual BC and that joke is what they give us.

Only 2 games I would play still don't have bc :( Dishwasher and Mark of the Ninja

If you take a look at any XO BC thread you'll see everyone shouting for their personal favorite coming to the program. The two 360 Earth Defense Force games I totally adore are still not available (sidenote: let's forget about Insect Armageddon..). 360 had a huge library and we are in year one of the BC program. Give it time.

"""playable"""

I tried it yesterday. It's not. Hey you just have much lower standards evidently. Just don't make excuses when most other people expect at least a closely comparable experience to a last gen system and they aren't pleased when they don't get.

I have personally never came across something like that and it doesn't happen in the video I show, but that's not even during combat...

Actually 100%, something is wrong here. Probably a cache issue or pre-patch, I dunno.

edit: you know what? it might a problem with running the game from the internal drive...

edit2: that is completely different from my experience wtf
