I'd say from the drawing and the handwriting, it's very likely to be the same person. It's very hard to imitate one's handwriting in Chinese.

False.

I think the answer to that question is how many people carry around portable phone chargers. I certainly have one. As long as it's not too big I see this being really cool. In the office at lunch I could detach the controllers, stand up the screen on the performance module, and playing with a coworker.

Right--if it was pocket-sized, it wouldn't be an issue at all.

So let's review.

Christ almighty, they did it. They created a console more asinine than the WiiU.

I don't understand why they would have potentially three devices that all draw power on their own. The split between the "dock" and the power module feels very convoluted.

I'm skeptical.

This. That's really weird and confusing, I can't see Nintendo announcing a three parts console after the Wii U.

please don't be real

This sounds much too complicated for the masses to understand. The idea of having a separate module to carry is very strange, no matter how small and innocuous it is, it kills the portability.

Honestly, if it's on par with or a little more powerful than the Wii U, I'm fine with that. Having portable Wii U-quality games is an instant buy for me, provided the software is there.

As long as you don't have to carry the "power supply" around i'm okay with lower performance with games on the handheld. Optionally bringing the "power supply" to get better performance is fine. That being said I have zero confidence that this is how it would work.

This this this.

Frightened less for my own enjoyment now and more that Nintendo will confuse the average consumer yet again.
Sorry not rental. Edited my post to say reveal, lol.

The average consumer, the kind that eats up whatever Apple releases, is the same audience that I thought Nintendo was after. The casuals. Apple makes everything very simple all the way down to their minimalistic hardware designs. Nintendo not so much it seems..if this is real.

I don't know where you've been, but this has been the exact same rumor for years now.

So there are 3 different configurations then?

1. Portable unit can work by itself for basic applications and play games at a lower performance level.

2. Performance module can stream to the portable from the dock similar to WiiU and PS4 to Vita remote play. You carry the performance module with you since it has its own battery.

3. Performance module can be attached to the portable dock for high performance gaming on the go without streaming but is limited to the performance module's battery connected to the TV.

Am I getting that right?
This is how I interpret it.

Okay so...

Piece 1: Homedock that connects to the TV. Useless on its own.
Piece 2: Handheld screen with controls. Has minimal graphics on its own.
Piece 3: Actual console that contains HDD, power, CPU, GPU. Useless on its own. Can be connected (wirelessly I assume) to either the Homedock or Handheld. When connected to the Homedock, it acts as a home console. When connected to the Handheld, it powers the Handheld for full graphics.

So is that it? Nintendo expects you to carry the "console" brick cube thing in your backpack so you can play with just the handheld in your hands?
yes, NX mistery solved

The info itself is nonsense. The PS4 leaker had zero details on anything but shape ans weight. Yet here we have everything including the SoC... which is not chosen? Bullshit.

I really WANT this to be the next great portable system. The successor to the awesome 3DS games library that just carries over all those franchises. I'm really worried that this will be just a Wii U 2 and flop again.

I don't give one damn about a Nintendo home console anymore. Just focus on making this actually portable and feasible for longer-ish use on the go (battery life).

I want to assume this is fake; somebody piggybacking on the Foxconn PS4 leaker and and the recent NXproduction news(?) from Foxconn.

This device does not sound like Nintendo learned shit. Awkward and unintuitive

#TeamFake

It seems like just the thing Nintendo would come up with after the Wii U. A modular device.

A handheld chassis, a console chassis, and unified cpu/gpu hardware that you can attach to either.

Nothing too surprising compared to previous rumours, but I'm still loving this. I'd like to play console games again but I do most of my gaming when I'm out of the house. I'm sure I'll look like a dork, but I'd totally plug this in and play it in an empty classroom.

No idea if it would sell with normies but speaking for myself.

Not just that, it's kinda conveniently AFTER the info came that they were doing trial runs at Foxconn. You'd have expected it earlier if it were legit.
That makes sense. It's hard to see Nintendo make something this complicated when they want the mobile fan base.

It sounds to me like no, that's not right. As I understand it, the part with the screen is just a controller with screen, it cannot play games by itself at all. The little box, the "Performance module", that is the real brains - it has the hard drive, battery, cartridge port. You can either hook that up to a TV, or to the controller/screen. So if you want to play games on the go, you keep that Performance Module in your pocket.

The dock is so that you can charge things, and so you can hook up the Performance Module to the TV without having to deal with wires.

Sorry, but how is that not better than the WiiU?

This is a very confusing mix. Why is the cartridge on the dock? Does the handheld have a full CPU&GPU or just a low power one? How do the booster, dock and handheld all come together, as it seems they connect 2 by 2 but you have essential parts on all?

It doesn't really make sense that he has a detailed description of everything but then goes on saying it's either using Tegra or something from AMD.

Why would a Foxcon worker have seen the NX already if Nintendo don't even know what SoC it'll use? How can they start production for something that supposedly launches in March if they don't yet know what chips they use? That doesn't make much sense to me.

Yeah, this too.

This makes so little sense that it's either a fake or is done by someone who does have the knowledge to actually describe the systems.

I get it

The console is the Performance Module

The Performance Module contains the HDD, Cartridge Slot, Battery, GPU and CPU etc

The Performance Module can be attached to 2 devices either wirelessly or by wire

1. A docking station to play games on the TV
2. A portable which has its own touchscreen and battery and low powered internals for basic features when using standalone without Performance Module

The system also comes with split controls that can connect to the portable or be used fetched to okay on the TV.

So like a Wii U, but actually portable outside of your house. I guess comfort/form factor and power are the only real variables now.

I don't get why people are freaking out--this is almost exactly what has been theorized for nearly a year.

This thing is going to be sub-$250 with good software. That's their selling point here.

It seems like they broke a console and handheld down into a three components. The dock would provide TV connectivity, the handheld would provide a mobile screen, then you just attach the 'performance module' console to either of the two.

So the dock is basically just to send an image to a television.
Seems like it. They must have had a reason for not integrating the performance module and the dock into one unit because the dock seems to offer little else.

Either there's some important information missing, it's all utter bollocks, or Nintendo have lost their damned minds.

Gods I want it to be that last one. The shitstorm it'd cause would be glorious, and it's an insane enough concept that I actually kind of like it!

I don't know about this one. Seems kinda complicated.
If real I think 2 SKUs (with and without booster thingy) is likely.

If only there was SOME WAY to explain things to the consumer before any leaks.

Nintendo themselves said the Wii U was confusing and they couldn't give clear explanation to the mass audience.
The NX shown here go against their "we learned from the Wii U"

What if the nvidia or amd garbage is just two options of the performance module one with bc that will cost more or one without that will cost less.
